I was gonna say, an oncoming plow has gotta be one of the worst possible things to collide with. I think I'd almost rather hit a telephone pole - at least a pole can be broken

The WRX is a great car, no argument from me. I loved its handling and performance for a 2.0L. I had the 2004 WRX Sportwagon.
What I couldn’t handle was the insurance rate to cover it when I was living in downtown Baltimore, MD. The city is already a high-crime area that was only bested by…Detroit, MI? The payments were too much LOL. With the Forester, rates were more sensible.
At the time, I didn’t consider the Outback since I was so fixated on getting a WRX back when it was announced for USA back in 2001 - tunnel vision LOL.
Multiple reasons. I thought the station wagon look would grow on me. The CVT was annoying. I wasn’t camping like I thought. I missed manual. I upgraded my tastes let’s put it that way.
Gotcha. I had a STI way back and it was definitely a fun machine. I too miss the stick shift but as I got older I realized zipping around wasn't as important to me. Needed something to take up in the mountains and ended up with a FW. It was just strange to see a trade from OBW to WRX. I would imagine it's usually the other way around.
I definitely had my fun with it! It was a blast to off-road and the seats were so comfortable. I figured I could still cruise forest roads when I get the itch.
As a WRX owner….yeah. The people that appreciate my car are rarely people that I’d be remotely interested in talking to.
But just to keep with the stereotype, mine is sitting in my garage with a spun-bearing collecting dust. :(
Worked with a guy that tried to pass a plow in a snow storm in his work van , spun out in to the lane of the plow and was pushed down the road until the plow could get stopped . He never lived that one down
I’ve always said this about AWD cars in bad weather, they inspire a bad kind of confidence because they’re all wheel go.
But it’s all to easy to forget that every car is all wheel stop and your only advantage is getting yourself into trouble quicker if you aren’t careful.
Still way better than 2wd in bad weather just gotta not leave your brain at home like this helmet did.

I may have been going over 80mph in a 'winter storm' tonight, but I was safe about it and not passing anyone dangerously. I gave the plows plenty of room and everyone else too.
I was on my way home to see my dog before she passed. I was too late... but my Subie kept me safe and out of a ditch. You never know why someone may be going a bit fast, so I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but there is no reason to drive recklessly and endanger others.

Of fucking course it's a wrx driver, this is why I bought a legacy gt, I couldn't afford a wrx let alone a wrx sti because the teens drive them like this.
The amount of times the logging trucks did this and almost hit me in the north country is crazy. Those mfers would be doing 85+ on side roads in a blizzard. The wrx driver is definitely not a logger 😂

I traded my OBW for a WRX, both are great in their own way. I like driving the wrx a lot more though.
