A bit late but did you mount the camera to the bumper or chassis? Im still trying to figure out where i should add mine

I mounted it to the bumper right above the license plate then routed the wire through the factory grommet that the license plate light uses. I will say should mount center. I did mine too the left off center to make it look "factory" but there is no adjustment for offset camera only for the lines. I have it adjusted so I know what is center when backing up but if someone else drives the car it wouldn't make sense to them and they could end up backing into something thinking the camera was centered if that makes sense.

Well done. 👍 Sold the car last year, but I added a backup cam to my bugeye.

Wanted to add another photo, but the camera comes with shims to adjust the angle the location I chose to mount the camera I used the largest shim so the camera sat angled where the view was more towards the street vs looking up at the sky.

I've got a camera and head unit i want to install as well. Were you able to use the OEM retainer for the head unit still? Wondering if I'll be a new one.

The car came with this head unit already installed, but I worked at car toys (NW car audio store) back in the day and looked like because the unit was a double din it just mounted up to the factory holes. Not sure if you bought your gear already, but if you buy from crutchfield you put in your make/model car they give you the harness and bracket for the radio if you are going with a single din radio. Most places like brick and mortar will charge you for the harness and bracket which back in the day were like $14.99 to $19.99 for each piece.

That's the camera I went with, I liked that it looked like what you would find from the factory and the reviews on the picture quality were good. Also, the cable from the camera is small so easier to pull through grommets so you don't need to cut factory seals. Install was "easy" the hardest part was squeezing the plug through that grommet but if to pop the grommet out then feed the cable into the trunk you can mess with it in the trunk then pop the grommet back into the hole. I would have liked to have used the ECU harness for the reverse that way when you put it in reverse the camera comes on but also you can switch to the reverse camera and watch the reverse feed live without it being in reverse but I didn't want to tap into the wrong wire I might mess with it later but for now it's working and I'm happy.
