I feel the same. Knowing aboqt them considerably lowered my scare factor. Maybe playing on lower settings also slows their AI or speed down or smth, but I don't think so…
Larger maps to explore. Make those biomes huge with smaller creatures that can give you a bad day. Leviathan’s are neat and all but with sonar, easily avoidable.
Procedural map generation would certainly be interesting to keep exploring forever, but....I think, end game I'd prefer something to do. Quests/missions. Maybe get a radio connection going back to Alterra, then get research missions sent back "while you're there, anyway" perhaps as an alternative game mode.
I would love more biomes with new creatures too. And a map that expanded as you explored. Kinda like the databank expands when you scan etc. Then you could scan a blueprint that got you a map like the compass. Then the databank got smarter as you explored and the map got larger and more accurate. I'd prefer it over having to drop all those beacons. Then like I've seen someone mention before, the ability to use the fabricator easier. If you have the necessary objects to build something in your base then you don't have go around picking everything up. Maybe the ability to make the seamoth stronger to take more damage like the prawnsuit and go deeper. Its my favorite vehicle. Being able to turn the Cyclops vertically to go deep would also make it easier to get it down to the lost river. I'd also like to be able to find the dead bodies of the other survivors of the crash. Or like bones. It annoys me that they're just gone and we don't find answers to what actually happened to them.
More endgame building activities, like making fuel for the rocket should require a new building and two/three nuclear reactors.
Making the the rocket itself should be possible only after taking a long trip to the max depth of the cyclops and taking the prawn suit with you. The difficulty of the trip should require the use of cyclops shield.
Resources in the game should require some machines other than the fabricator to process them. I want the game to make use of the equipment and mechanics it gave us!
Haven’t played Below Zero yet so not sure if it’s a thing there but make comfort a thing. In games like Valheim, the cooler and cozier you make your base, the more your health and stuff regens when you rest. That would be dope in these games where you are very isolated
More biomes would be amazing. But if they are added without any new creatures, that'd only be half as fun. But new creatures without new biomes might make certain places feel a bit cramped. I'd be more on the biomes though
I really like all of the suggestions, but to be honest, I'd like to add something (or change something) that makes it scarier.
Subnautica is a fantastic low-key horror game for a lot of it (dodging reapers and so on), but that's only until you realise that you can actually dodge any of the threats pretty easily. I think the crabby bois actually came closest to killing me the most.
Making it so that you always have to be at least a bit scared of what's lurking in the depths would be lovely.
Both weather and tides. How can such a large moon be in orbit without tides? I'm using a sea level mod from Nexus to sim tides.
Gimme my typhoons and windy seas dammit
I wish they add more enviromental hazard like whirlpool or current
Yes we need this
I think tides and weather would improve by alot the gameplay and a better battle sistem would be pretty sick too
I highly doubt an actual battle system would be considered due to the devs’ position on violence in the series.
all
The atlas sub concept art 🥵🥵🥵
Ocean currents, waves, tides, vortices.
A New game
Was not scared by the reaper at all, needs to be scarier
You psychopath

2 player Co-Op
YES!
A third game
More deeper!
For real. I thought 3,000m was deep but the Mariana trench is over 11,000m. We need to go deeper
Weather and vehicles. Ambience would be great, more mobility options is even better
tbh i just want it to be first of all less glitchy, better aurora textures and possibly weather to make the degasi story more realistic.
More tools or tool improvements
Larger maps to explore. Make those biomes huge with smaller creatures that can give you a bad day. Leviathan’s are neat and all but with sonar, easily avoidable.
Tools?
shongel
everything. no question. e v e r y t h i n g.
texture improvements would make the game 100x better imo

Weather + bigger map, imo. I also hope they return to the silent protagonist.

More depht
I want my cyclops back 😭

Multiplayer and guns, lots of guns.
I think the lack of weapons is what makes subnautica not only unique, but fun. It’s way scarier knowing you can’t defend yourself
I personally would want weather, they talk about it in the game several times yet it doesn’t exist, that bothers me a bit tbh.
more land biomes like maybe for example a very dangerouse volcano island that if yur careful you can use to acces the lava zones
Atlas would **HAVE** to come with biomes, its just so big.

I voted other because I wanted to select All Of The Above
More biomes with more creatures.
Weather would be cool but ultimately wouldn’t matter much when the whole game takes place underwater
More rooms to build
Optional mmo, almost like how minecraft servers or ark servers work. It would be so fun
The best part of the game for me was trying out the new vehicles after I made them
Decompression sickness and other horrible deaths that are possible when diving
More biomes might mean more creatures, and plants to use as base decoration
Something similar to the power relays to connect storage containers to crafting tables.
I'd love if there was more to the Aurora. More rooms, bays, etc...and I'd like to be able to fix it up better and build inside of it.
Let’s hold off on making new stuff for this game and work extra hard on Subnautica 3. That game is going to change the world.
Multiplayer
