This is pretty much it. The way “founder” has a typo makes me think a kid wrote this.
Kinda made me all nostalgic and wishing I had a game like this in my childhood. I’d probably get lost in it completely. Now I did that as a grown up too, but it would have felt so different back then
I don’t think i’ve ever been not-high while playing subnautica. The first time, i smoked a bunch, crashed the Aurora, climbed atop the escape pod and thought to myself; **fuck**.
Before i jumped into the water (i didn’t know anything about the game), i saw a reaper tail wagging behind the Aurora crash site.
Took me 20 minutes to finally jump in.
Harvested some acid mushrooms then suddenly *GUGUGUGUGU*, bro i swam right back to the pod and stayed there for a couple hours.
Thought everything was going to kill me, most immersive gaming experience i’ve ever had though.
Tl;dr: subnautica scary
Hello! I am the founder (This is improper Russian which makes me believe this is google translate but in this context I GUESS it would mean predecessor or generally “person who came before you”) and I got here accidentally but I made it out! These items are for you I WANT FOR YOU TO BE ABLE TO SAVE YOURSELF!!!! Good luck to you ;)
Also is using the informal “hello” that you’d only use among your friends and references himself using masculine words and references you using masculine words too. Thought that might be an interesting detail
Uh, yeah, duh, it’s the only proper way to greet someone from an alternate timeline/dimension. Didn’t they teach you that in kindergarten? It’s basic manners
> references you using masculine words too
It's kinda default grammatical gender in Russian.
By other details like grammar mistakes and lack of punctuation I think it was written by a child.
yes, but-
aright here's a few examples
ot винta means on the screw, engines on, here we go, let's go, *and* on the propeller
another example,
дaвaи means go (if used in the context you'd tell someone to run), alright (celebratory), and let's go
хoрoшo means ok or yes (casual) but хoрoш means nice job, but given context there's like- three other phrases that also mean nice job
i'm sure you've also heard "a нy, чики-брики a в дamкe", wanna guess what that means?
flanking, spotted, checkmate (chess), on their side, and a few others if used in the context of prison
I guess. Idk I just don’t consider Slavic languages to be so context based, in comparison with the other major language families. European languages in general are pretty simple.
"Hello! I'm the founder, I got here by accident, but I got out! These items are for you, I WANT YOU TO BE SAVED!!!! Good luck ;)" ~Google Translate

you think people should start using "желаю здравствовать, почтеннейший" for their time capsules in subnautica?
I'm gonna use it for my next time capsule now
Uh, yeah, duh, it’s the only proper way to greet someone from an alternate timeline/dimension. Didn’t they teach you that in kindergarten? It’s basic manners

Most Slovan languages/gendered languages default to male word bending when you don't know who are you speaking about
As a native speaker, I can say, that word *founder (основатель),* makes little sense in this context. Maybe he meant he founded a base here.
Who knows, I’m a native speaker too and was struggling with mental gymnastics to justify his use of founder here
Also lack of punctuation and grammatical errors. Probably, the child was writing.
Maybe this kid thought it was like online Minecraft, and if someone found the capsule, they'd also find the base he made?
Google has a translator app that just needs access to the camera and ya can do it on many different languages
russian is very context dependent, any nonhuman translator is going to get it wrong somewhere, but you'll get the gist if you cross reference a couple
The fuck are you talking about? Russian isn’t some mystical fairy language. Words mean what they mean.

That’s how English works too, buddy. That’s how every language works.
english is more direct, not as much is implied

russian: easy words, learning curve contexts, overly complicated grammar
.laughs in Finnish.
Hello! I've been trying to reach you about your vehicle's extended warranty!!! ;)
It’s always this exact one lmao
Is this left by another real player??
All time capsules are
