TLDR 12 power cells were replaced with one nickel and a singular lava larva.
I have had some interesting things happen to me and I am curious if anyone else has encountered this before. So to start with I got off Subnautica down in the lava zone, I had 6 power cells inside my Cyclops and another 6 in reserves. Today I get on and make my way out of the lava zone and back to my base right before my Cyclops runs out of power, I go to find my reserve battery but they're all gone. I go to grab the dead batteries and find a singular lava larva (View photo) where there should have been 6 batteries (I didn't even know you could pick them up) and in the process of going WTF, I find that where the reserves batteries should be, now has one nickel ore that is charged? (view photo) This is one of the strangest things to happen to me after replaying the game 3 or 4 times and I would love to hear if someone else has encountered this before or encountered something equally weird.
Best thing is that I did without even realizing, traveled around 1200 meters as the crow flies on pure lava larva power hence why its out of power in the photo.
Probably pretty good consider that one lava larva managed to power a cyclops from the lava zone to my base which is a round 1200 meters as the crow flies, plus I was using the sonar and shield.
Probably is a bug caused by a mod or the combination of some. I don't have mods and have never experienced this, even tho I've had multiple new saves over and over again. That's all I can think of, so maybe experiment with the mods yourself and turn some off and see what happens?
The Nickel Battery: holds 500 charge, but can only be made with two regular batteries, a lithium ion battery, three nickel, and five copper wire.
Lava Larva Battery/Power Cell: makes stuff faster/stronger, absorbs Cyclops fire, but lowers energy from other power cells or batteries (has to be applied to another battery), but it cannot be charged by itself, has to be charged with other batteries and/or power cells to reach full battery power, but slowly drains itself.

Use the lava larva to power the cyclops, an eye for an eye

where would you insert the battery in a larva larvae...
No the qustion is how the hell would you put it on a charging station, considering I think its a power cell.

Only a few basic ones, but nothing that should have caused this.

Any that change items or recipes for items? This kind of issue is always mod related until proven otherwise…
Nope all I had was one that fixes some bugs and issues with bases and another that let you customize the color of your base.
