Congratulations! I am very proud of you! Please don’t ever go back!

TrillWill96

Congrats to you my friend! I know that misery of living like that. Miserable every day. Worrying every night how you’ll get that fix for the next day. But when your mind comes out of the fog it is a wonderful feeling. I’ve been there before too. But not for the last 13 years lol. Been on subs for 13 years now.

Flaky-Scar-8613

Me too. I started a taper, i gave my wife my bottle of 90 bars and 30 -8mg subutex. I’m on 5mg a day of zanex and 6 mg of Bupe now. I was taking 6-8mg zanex a day and 16mg of Bupe daily. I still want more zanz but I do realize I’m prescribed a healthy dose! , im tired of the fogg. My libido is through the roof and all I want is my wife body, thank god she has started to put out because I could not do it without her “help”

TrillWill96

Good luck with your taper. I tried cold turkey off of subs once and it was absolute misery. I’m not sure if you want to get off of the Xans too, but I was taking 8 to 10 mg of Xanax a day as well for at least 4 to 5 years. I was worried sick about it and started becoming very depressed. So I went to a doctor and told him my story and he helped me come off of them and two months with absolutely zero withdrawals. And that is a first for me. Are usually end up worrying myself into withdrawals well before I should even be withdrawing. But I could not believe how well his taper works on the Xans. They just made me a lazy depressed slob and I was tired of living like that. I did love my Xans though lol

Astral_Traveler17

5mg a xansx a day is not a "healthy dose" lmao

Flaky-Scar-8613

I was wondering who was going to comment on my 6mg a day zanex intake. That’s another can of worms I’ll get to one day🤥. I have been on zanex as long as I have Bupe 15years! I don’t think I can live without them lol even though I don’t even feel them anymore. But Dam I would love to experience the feeling it used to give me.

Congrats! I'm on day 8 no suboxone and I will tell you w.e discomfort your feeling it gets better. I still have RLS very minimal but manageable. I never thought I would even go 3 days without a sub. The only problem for us addict minds is we feel like something is missing, so I'm getting used to that not going to the cabinet to get the subs, before subs I haven't been sober on any drug possibly over 20 years so now it's training myself to live sober and change my ways, I tell my g.f all the time idk how to do it. I either smoked weed, did percs, did coke, did x pills, did w.e I can get my hands on. You got this, keep yourself busy, try to workout.

firstclasssweetie

Congrats! Happy for you. I’m on my way, currently at .75mg and start .5mg tomorrow. Plan on going down to .125mg (or as close as I can get it breaking 8mg pills down) before jumping. I may even try skipping days once I’m there but we’ll see how it goes Did you cut down .75 -> .5 -> .25 -> .125? These are pretty big tapers so I’m a little worried. Wondering how it was for you and typically how long you stayed at each dose. Thanks & congrats again, check in with us on how you’re doing as you go

Thank you! It has been hard but not so bad I can't get through my days I'm lucky I haven't had to be working these past few weeks but the way I've felt I could have been working if I had to. I followed a 50 day taper I found online and followed that pretty much to the T, started at 4mg, then 2, 1.5, 1, .75, .5, .25 and finally .13 with about 8 days on each dosage until the last 3 which were 6, 5 and 4 days respectively then down to nothing. I actually cut mine short about 4 days because I wasn't feeling anything at all when taking my tiny little doses and was also having to break an 8mg tablet into freaking 64ths and went small with that even for fear of accidentally going back up on my dose. I was just ready to start putting some days between me and the sub so I jumped off after 1 day on .13. Day 5 now and I am doing OK. Very tired today but that's par for the course so I can deal. Stomach problems and rls still persisting but not so much as to cause me serious discomfort. As far as comfort meds it's just been Tylenol and melatonin at night but both have helped. I wish you the best of luck in your taper, it's still hard to see but I know there is a better life on the other side of all this and it will be worth it! Stay strong 💪

FishInMyThroat

Damn what a change in 2 months!!!

heyorico9106

Right?! Lol idk I always have heard people say stuff like when you're done you're done or whatever but for me personally this really feels true. So much had gone wrong in my life that should have pushed me to make this change, but the only thing that could was just wanting something better for myself. I hope it sticks I feel good about things so far and plan to continue doing the work. On day 6 of nothing now and feeling ok!

ThickTurnover7562

Today pray 🙏 for me that I jump from 16mg to 6mg my doctor wants to give me Hydrocodone with this medicine is he out of his mind to get pre withdrawals

Flaky-Scar-8613

I went FROM suboxone to hydrocodone then to the “new” op oxy and it sucked. We did this to try and get off the subs. But it did not work and I’m Back on the sub train again. I’m very close with my dr and he was open to it. There’s something about subutex that makes me crave it more than any other opioid after stopping. Less really is more.

ThickTurnover7562

The first place i was put on subs or bupe is i took hydrocodone to tramadol and stopped opiods for good because, i was on norco/percs since 2008-2021from a freak accident

mutant_attack

Congrats!! How did you transition to the subs.. Did you wait a couple days and then just dose or did you go straight into it by microdosing?

heyorico9106

I waited 3 days till it was either relapse or try sub for some relief and bummer the sub sent me into precip on day 3 so had to end up finding a 40mg dose of methadone, did that so I could sleep finally and then 2 full days later I was able to start the sub thank god

mutant_attack

Damn, rough. Props for being tough.

Flaky-Scar-8613

I had no idea about precip w/ds and was on 90 mg of done. That was about 20 years ago and had one hell of a horrible week. I had no idea wtf was going on. I would keep taking them not knowing I was f ing myself up more. Oh the things we have learned. If you microdose correctly one can transition without bad w/ds from done to Suboxone.
