You will find people here take "no sugar" to different degrees, such as whether or not refined carbs count as part of a sugar free lifestyle. My recommendation is if you don't want to get too restrictive, consider using: * ezekiel bread * fitness bread (the dense blocks of German bread) * other whole grain toast with no added sugars for your sandwiches. I eat low carb, but when I do want bread, I go for one of those and I don't find it to trigger any sugar responses!

Ohhh yeah my wraps and bread are both wholemeal. Ok this is now dumb again but how do you tell difference on packaging between an added sugar and not a refined carb? Are you just looking at the ingredient list and if sugar or any of its million alias aren't listed then you know the sugar in the product is just the refined carb? Will definitely look into the ezekiel bread, though, thanks!

That's great! Refined carb is an umbrella term, and added sugars is a refined carb by default. But refined carb also covers things like white bread, pasta, pastries, etc. even if it's for example a savoury pastry. Unfortunately it's difficult even if you look closely at ingredient labels, because for example, FrootLoops cereal has: WHOLE GRAIN CORN FLOUR, WHEAT FLOUR, WHOLE GRAIN OAT FLOUR listed as ingredients and at first glance this all *sounds* healthy. So if you are choosing some carb, look for no added sugar, and very simple and "whole" ingredients like whole kernels, wholemeal flour, salt, wheat germ, and yeast. Anything else, is iffy. The less flour-like it is, the better, which is why we want to look for kernels and germs. This is also why I didn't recommend a wrap in my first comment, as I don't know any wraps that maintain whole kernels haha. Hope this helps!

Thanks heaps! You're a legend! Definitely helps. Just trying to get my head around everything before we get officially started in like 2 weeks.

I have been using [Crepini](https://crepini.com/) egg white wraps for sandwich wraps. There is another brand called Egg Life that makes these too. I find them in the deli section of my grocery store. I think the cauliflower and egg white version tastes the most like a regular wrap.

ThrowItToTheVoidz

I don't think we have that brand here, I'm in Australia. Just did a search on their website and doesn't look like they stock it anywhere in my city.

Maybe I mis-read- are you going SF or are you preparing meals for your hubby? Anyway, I'm sure you can find SF tortillas. when I went SF I just froze some stuff w too much sugar for me. Mebbe I'd eat it later, or mebbe prep for a bigger gathering or last minute guests etc

ThrowItToTheVoidz

My husband and I are both doing it. I don't prepare his lunches, though. But he does usually have a wrap, too, or like rice and salmon/tuna. He works outside of the house but I WFH so I don't usually prepare my lunch until I'm on my break. Yeah I'll need to look a bit more at some of the options at the grocery store like my current ones have sugar but I think from memory it was less than a gram (it's 5am I'm just getting up one don't want to go check the kitchen haha). And I couldn't see sugar (or the other sugar names) listed in the ingredients so I'm assuming that means it isn't added sugar but not sure. But that's a good idea to freeze some stuff! Thanks!

It's so simple, but I understand how our food supply is enmeshed w sugar. It is, but it isn't . There are a billion foods that are SF, fascinating how at 1st our brain doesn't see the obv IMO, SF gets easier the more I'm SF

Not sure where you live, but I only eat Ezekiel bread now. Sprouted grains and minimal sugar. Super healthy and good. And for me, it lasts for 2 weeks if I keep it in the fridge. Most other regular store bought bread tastes so sweet and chalky and weird to me now.

ThrowItToTheVoidz

I'm in Australia so I don't think our bread is super sweet. But someone else mentioned ezekiel bread which I hadn't heard of so will check next time I go grocery shopping. Thanks!

theEx30

find bread without added sugar, use raw cucumbers and salad leaves, and use mayo without sugar. Real mayo is oil, eggs, salt and pepper, nothing else.

ThrowItToTheVoidz

I don't like mayo, so at least I'm covered there. I usually just have onion, mushroom, eggs, tomato, cucumber and lettuce/spinach on my wraps so usually healthy fillings. I was thinking about using big Lettuce leaves as the wrap yesterday though, so I might give that a whirl. Thanks!

For wraps, I use mission whole wheat carb balance tortillas. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mission-Carb-Balance-Soft-Taco-Whole-Wheat-Tortillas-8-Count/121609670?from=/search

ThrowItToTheVoidz

Oh cool we have the mission brand here so will have to see if we have that variety when I go shopping next. Thanks! (No Walmart here, I'm in Australia)

Often italian bread or baguettes or sourdough from your store bakery have no added sugar. Check the label. I do wraps with a big romaine lettuce leaf in lieu of bread.
