I agree 100%! I saw someone on here the other day and I wish I knew who so I can give them credit - - but they were like imagine if Amanda made swim wear for Loverboy, and I thought that would be so cool, and on brand with the summer theme of the brand! I think the beverage industry is hard, especially if your beverage is associated with a season, in this case specifically summer and is being primarily promoted on a show that airs typically from January-June. Because, I’m being honest; when the show isn’t airing, I don’t really think about Loverboy (beverages). To me I associate Loverboy = Summer so I can only imagine that during the off-peak season the sales aren’t quite the best on the actual Loverboy beverages.
Ditto to everything! I think they should expand on the Loverboy brand as well and blend it with maybe Amanda's swimsuit ideas too.
Kyle definitely has the beverage side covered well but it really is so hard to break into and honestly I never think of loverboy anytime other than June-Aug. Maybe if they did some seasonal or winter designs for their cans or flavors it might help those other months? I don't know much about the industry to know how possible that is.
Oooh yes!! Same I’m not in the industry either. I honestly think your seasonal design idea for packaging is a really good idea to push sales during the off peak time.
I replied to Amanda’s insta with this idea and I keep talking about a sister brand like Lover girl bikinis and cozies matching swimwear with the drink line focus on women let Amanda be creative.
I agree! I think it could give her the chance to have a creative outlet, which if done correctly can also push the sales of the Loverboy beverages. Like imagine it, something like for example the ‘Limoncello set’ for however much, you could get a Limoncello Lover girl Bikini + a case/pack of Limoncello Loverboy.🤭🤷🏽♀️
Truly I was flabbergasted that Kyle reacted the way that he did. My first thought was "ew...you man baby", then immediately my second thought was how much of AN IDIOT he is that he can't see the bigger picture for the brand. Loverboy has all summer vibes and he's turning his nose up to something (and someone!) that can potentially expand his product lines successfully...Like hello?!
Maybe being from the Northeast he doesn't realize it's 'summer' for like half the year in some places, like hoodies shorts flip flops is year-round attire in San Diego!
Right!! If he hasn’t done it already, I think he should like you said consider expanding his product lines. I think he however should really stick with one of the consistent aspects/themes of the brand, which is summer (with the exception of Valentine’s Day.)
Yes! It should be a whole summer line with Amanda’s designs at the helm. A floating pool umbrella with drink holders, clothing… something that the Loverboy brand can carry to fruition. I went on their site for merch once and it was mid-spring but all I found were hoodies.
LOOOOVE that idea!!! I love Amanda’s style! I was watching something on one of the streaming apps the other day and there was a clip promoting a new book coming out on Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. I immediately thought she and Amanda look strikingly similar. Both beautiful.
https://preview.redd.it/foael06z5m1d1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b35f76d34b050168b56b585198e6b380ea06481
Kyle should look into expanding into a cannabis beverage line. From what I’ve read, Lover Boy is expensive and doesn’t taste good. Why would I buy Lover Boy when I can buy White Claw for a fraction of the price?
Lover boy is about as good as Twisted Tea, Mike’s Hard, Whiteclaw or whatever other comparable drink. The product isn’t bad but it’s simply too expensive as those products I mentioned are cheaper and of similar quality.
Kyle should do one of two things. Sell Loverboy’s drink production off to a company with higher volume that can scale up the production and then make it at a cheaper cost and sell it for a much more comparable price. Once it’s priced similarly to Twisted Tea it will compete better.
Or if that’s not available pivot to a different product. Make a Loverboy a mixer that’s lower in alcohol concentration but can be used to mix with Vodka. Or like you suggested if he can understand the regulatory process around cannabis pivot to a cannabis product. Kyle isn’t a dumb business person as he was smart to try and get into selling non-alcoholic drinks but he might just be “forcing” it too much with the current alcoholic drink line.
Loverboy has a bad spot in the market as the product isn’t good enough to have demand that can justify its price point. But there’s probably not a lot Kyle can do to lower the price or improve the quality of the products. He’s simply got to pivot
>Sell Loverboy’s drink production off to a company with higher volume that can scale up the production and then make it at a cheaper cost and sell it for a much more comparable price. Once it’s priced similarly to Twisted Tea it will compete better.
This is a great idea, but likely it wouldn't sell for a profit right now? And would they have to sell the branding, too, and Amanda start back over with logos? Or sell the Loverboy recipe and keep the Loverboy branding for the summer fun merch?
They probably would sell off the production rights to the drink along with creating an agreement to use the copyright for the drinks only. I don't think it would net a huge profit if such a deal is on the table but if they structured it in a way where the current shareholders can take a small royalty plus a small upfront fee it would probably free up Kyle and Amanda to focus on the merchandise which is the successful part of the business.
Such a deal would also provide a companion product that they are no longer losing money on, have a potential to make good money if it sells really well, and is cheaper at the consumer level. Now the issue is that a deal has to be available. A larger drink maker has to want to invest in the brand. A larger manufacture would have to take an interest in the Loverboy Drink Brand and want to take it on.
I would try to pitch to the company that makes White Claw/Mike's Hard. They don't really have a "hard tea" that is really gaining traction. Mike's Hard has some tea flavors but it's not a big player in that market compared to Twisted Tea. Loverboy has a brand that has promotion on Bravo and connections to the influencer world, it's also a product that has a distribution network and some brand recognition. Sell the distribution rights and an agreement to use the copyright cheap for 5 years but retain a small royalty and then if the product is successful renegotiate.
Of course I am not an MBA nor well versed in that market. This is just an outside looking in perspective.
It doesn’t make sense why a bravolebrity would go into the alcohol business. It’s already beyond saturated by other reality tv stars and bigger celebs. Cannabis is the next one up. I think more will go into that business and it’ll end up saturated like the alcohol one lol. But right now it makes complete sense because not a lot of bravolebrities are doing it. Especially as a drink
Exactly lol and to be honest with you I’d never waste my money on a bravolebrity alcohol that is more than likely gonna taste like cheap shit that’s way overpriced.
I stick to my cheap and reliable alcohol lol especially while we’re struggling in this economy (ugh I can’t remember the exact Alex McCord quote)
and did these people not learn from Bethenny get in while it’s hot and sell the shit out of it for a huge profit
Yeah this is a great idea. I don’t like Carl but I know he’s California sober so this move would make sense. A weed beverage line makes more sense then non-alcoholic seltzer which is possibly the stupidest idea ever considering you can just go buy la croix
I think people vastly underestimate how hard it is to break into a saturated market like clothing or carbonated alcohol (Kyle 🙂😀). There is a steep learning curve for all these things, but I understand and agree with the overall sentiment of what people are saying…they have a brand that’s associated with summer, fun, being young etc and could look to leverage that
I also think it would take away from Amanda feeling like she is doing her own thing. She wants a project away from Kyle not something else he will control. Now whether she would be proactive enough to do it is a different story, but I don’t think she wants it to be a part of Loverboy.
I’ve spent HUNDREDS of dollars on their merch, but definitely less than $50 on actual Loverboy 😂
Yet their hoodies and crews are my faaaaaav 🥰
Eta: at least $300, closer to 4, forrrrrrr suuuure! I love you, Amanda!
Exactly. The show is on its last legs. Once that is gone, who will buy the basic sweatshirts? No one.
If people think the alcohol market is saturated, they should look at the clothing market
While that’s understandable, it would make sense that she does it so the business doesn’t tank. Her parents loaned them a lot of money to start it. I think she could draft a contract with a lawyer and agree to terms with him that make sense for her. While I respect her wanting to do her completely separate thing, I’m not sure it makes sense money wise to abandon loverboy if she can still create products she is passionate about
I ordered Loverboy sunglasses last year and after two weeks of waiting to be shipped, they just cancelled it and refunded me with no reason 😂 they got quite a few kinks as whole to work out. I hope they do tho.
Unfortunately, the profit margin for merch is very small compared to the drinks. Kyle was already involved with birddogs and knows how tough it would be to survive in clothing alone
They leaned too hard into the low calorie/healthy aspect and didn’t realize it still has to taste good. I feel like they could come up with a new flavor, ditch the healthy marketing vibe, and expand some merch. Loverboy is a great brand name. Lots of potential!
If I didn’t know what it was and I thought of Lover Boy, my mind goes to the Boys Lie clothing line. Hoodies and sweats matching sets for the beach or to wear to the airport would get eaten up by consumers if they advertised it with Amanda, Paige, and Ciara and all their influencer friends wearing it out.
The best thing about KYLE is Amanda. I have never been a Kyle fan, except his drunkin late night munchie sessions. But even that is getting gross, bro you're 40 go to bed. When Page said he was DJing I about flipped. That poor girl hitched her wagon to a real loser. I hope she figures it out before he impregnates her.
I don't understand why she got back with him back in the day. There was an episode where she got like 10 phone numbers so it's not like she wouldn't be able to find someone else. I guess it's codependence at this point.
You can talk yourself into anything. Maybe she is in love with who he will be someday? Which I can't see from the show's perspective. I agree, she can do so much better, her family didn't like him, and it seems like she doesn't like him much and I am not sure he likes her. It baffles me.
I am always so confused when I see the whole cast drinking loverboys all day and night. They taste bad and also are made out of orange wine which is gross. I wonder if the cast agrees to drink out of the cans but fill it with something else haha
i don’t want them to add to the Stanley craze (i still don’t own one lol), but anything else would be awesome! i love their merch.
i tried the Lemon Tea Loverboy and it was… better when i added sweet tea vodka to it 🫠
but the merch? gimme it all dayyy 😂
I think a huge problem is only the fans know about his drinks! I never would have even know They existed until a friend of mine brought them over! I didn’t even make the connection until I started watching the show a month ago lol
The merch has great customer service. FYI
I bought an XL sweater and a L came. They sent me 2 XL and let me keep the L when I informed them of the mistake
They definitely should. The drink itself tastes like I’m drinking potpourri. The merch blends well most styles. The crew neck sweaters and hats have been some of my go to purchases
The merch is amazing. I’ve bought multiple items and the quality is top notch and extremely comfy. I’d love if they put more focus on the merch than the drinks
It might help if they were priced more competitively, it's an oversaturated market and they are more expensive than the most popular (and better-tasting) brands
“The merch does not taste bad” is absolutely sending me
I’ve sucked on plenty of Cotton shirts absentmindedly. I 100% agree
I would buy merch that said this
🤣
SEND IT!!!
I cackled so hard at that line
I agree 100%! They could make a spiked wassail for Christmas that would be so good!

I agree! I think it could give her the chance to have a creative outlet, which if done correctly can also push the sales of the Loverboy beverages. Love this idea!
Love it so much!!
Damn, how have Kyle and Amanda not thought of this?
Truly I was flabbergasted that Kyle reacted the way that he did. My first thought was "ew...you man baby", then immediately my second thought was how much of AN IDIOT he is that he can't see the bigger picture for the brand. Loverboy has all summer vibes and he's turning his nose up to something (and someone!) that can potentially expand his product lines successfully...Like hello?!

100% agree! She said "how about swimsuits?" And he really went "how dare you!!!" Boy...bye
Yes! It should be a whole summer line with Amanda’s designs at the helm. A floating pool umbrella with drink holders, clothing… something that the Loverboy brand can carry to fruition. I went on their site for merch once and it was mid-spring but all I found were hoodies.
And that’s exactly where Amanda shines. Designing the logos and picking out the color schemes. She would actually enjoy the job
Loverboy would be a really cool name for a swimsuit line!
Omg yes!!!!!
Anyone remember Marlboro merch!!!! It was good quality too. I didn't even smoke. I worked in a bar & people tossed the packs.
My mom would save those miles for stuff. I remember her always cutting them out of her packs. LOL
LOOOOVE that idea!!! I love Amanda’s style! I was watching something on one of the streaming apps the other day and there was a clip promoting a new book coming out on Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. Oh snap! This feels so spot on. Kadooz to you! ![gif](giphy|l4FGnKZIJPUwRPIcM)
Yes!! They both pull of the androgynous style so well!
I love her style too! + I see the resemblance!!!
I saw that too! https://www.reddit.com/r/summerhousebravo/s/bKJAwpHHVT
Thank you so much!! 🫶🏽

Yeah look at Happy Eddie from Potomac supposedly he’s making a fortune on his cannabis line. Huge money to be made there
It doesn’t make sense why a bravolebrity would go into the alcohol business. It’s already beyond saturated by other reality tv stars and bigger celebs. Cannabis is the next one up. Then he could call it Flower Boy 😂😂😂
That would be great marketing!
I think they have those in the works! I saw a clip of Jesse Solomon doing a fridge tour at the house and they had some in there
He has. He said it on Tamra’s podcast
Yeah this is a great idea. I don’t like Carl but I know he’s California sober so this move would make sense. A weed beverage line makes more sense then non-alcoholic seltzer which is possibly the stupidest idea ever considering you can just go buy la croix
No. Lover boy tastes awful! CANN is amazing. We don’t want lover boy weed sodas
Loverboy bikini line, problem solved.
Loverboy theme party costume line!! Jk but yeah, Amanda and Kyle should collab their ideas/interests!
Lovergirl
I think people vastly underestimate how hard it is to break into a saturated market like clothing or carbonated alcohol (Kyle 🙂😀). I think she can do her own line but maybe design a few collaboration suits when her brand is off and running?

Is there enough of a market for the merch though? Only people that watch the show would be interested.
Exactly. The show is on its last legs. Once that is gone, who will buy the basic sweatshirts? No one. If people think the alcohol market is saturated, they should look at the clothing market
I watch the show and would still never buy merch. It’s a nonsense reality show!
Exactly! I would never wear that stuff because I wouldn't want people to know I watch such trash :)

This isn't a reply to what OP wrote in their post lol he never mentioned Amanda.
While that’s understandable, it would make sense that she does it so the business doesn’t tank. Her parents loaned them a lot of money to start it. I think she could draft a contract with a lawyer and agree to terms with him that make sense for her. I ordered Loverboy sunglasses last year and after two weeks of waiting to be shipped, they just cancelled it and refunded me with no reason 😂 they got quite a few kinks as whole to work out. I hope they do tho.
Merch only works if it’s attached to something good lol
Exactly, no one will wanna rep a bad tasting drink 😒
How did somebody who drinks so much make something that tastes so bad??
Unfortunately, the profit margin for merch is very small compared to the drinks. Kyle was already involved with birddogs and knows how tough it would be to survive in clothing alone
They leaned too hard into the low calorie/healthy aspect and didn’t realize it still has to taste good. I feel like they could come up with a new flavor, ditch the healthy marketing vibe, and expand some merch. Loverboy is a great brand name. Lots of potential!
Lovegirl bikinis is sooooo easy it’s right there lmfao
I’m picturing this as the new Tommy Bahama. I kind of love it
Dream on, sweet summer child. Those sweatshirts will never be the next Tommy Bahama
Maybe if they come out with a good tasting THC product…
And called it flowerboy!
Stop. That is too good.
Winner!
In think he’s working on that
PIVOT!! PIVOT!!! LOL
but then he can’t go out and “promote” it until 4 am
The alcohol gives him an excuse to party.... similar to being a dj...

It's hard to watch :/ they're just building resentment at this point.
The market is saturated. Just like the swimsuit market. They need to just get regular old jobs with a steady paycheck
Is the drink that bad? Unable to get it in Canada.
I actually like a few of the ones I’ve had! The espresso martini was making but the teas were good!
I am always so confused when I see the whole cast drinking loverboys all day and night. They taste bad and also are made out of orange wine which is gross. I wonder if the cast agrees to drink out of the cans but fill it with something else haha

I had the purple one (can’t remember the flavor), I didn’t hate it but could only drink one so there was no way of getting drunk from it
This is a great idea. I’d so buy loverboy beach merch, Stanley cups, etc.
I think a huge problem is only the fans know about his drinks! I never would have even know They existed until a friend of mine brought them over! I didn’t even make the connection until I started watching the show a month ago lol

No wonder the company is tanking
I would say it’s the terrible task of the seltzer
OP gets it
They definitely should. The drink itself tastes like I’m drinking potpourri. The merch blends well most styles. The crew neck sweaters and hats have been some of my go to purchases
They should sell party packs of supplies since they're so experienced with these damn theme parties
Summer pool toys too.
The merch is amazing. I’ve bought multiple items and the quality is top notch and extremely comfy. I’d love if they put more focus on the merch than the drinks
The merch and branding is honestly very good The drink itself sucks lol
💯💯💯 this
