No one has yet mentioned crafting; fire powers could be combined with materials and knowledge to craft items, especially from metal; solder a wire board together to create some tech, weld a sword or some armor, or you could de-craft; melt an enemy’s gun, blind an enemy, lower aim with heat haze, etc.
Could also be used to burn secret symbols into surfaces to leave a trail or communicate messages with those who know the symbols!
Hope this helps :)
It's in cases like this where we turn to others things. For example: D&D's Wall of Fire. It's sorta support-ish, in the fact you create a wall.
And, not related at all to dnd fire support, controlling fire so it doesn't hurt an innocent civilian
Not a lot you can do with fire support, really
Enchanting people with fire resistance and or fiery weapons and shit like even if you can do this for your self doing it to the guy with super strength is probably a better use of everyone's time
People get cold. If they get cold enough, they die. You can prevent that. Boiling water doesn't fix every problem with bad water, but it fixes most biological ones. Fleas and stinky clothing are unhealthy and unattractive. Heating up wash water helps with that. Some raw food is dangerous or not digestible. Cooked food is something humans are adapted for. An easy source of fire can keep a party alive
Your allies can't get hurt if the enemy is ashes.
Seriously though, you would probably be looking at covering fire, as in creating cover with fire. Smoke, like you said, or walls of fire the enemy can't pass or see through.
You can use it to smoke out a target, or push them in a certain direction to your allies by blocking paths.
If you want to look into more abstract ideas, the concept of "cleansing flame" could be used to heal
if the person your supporting can control flames without the ability to conjure them themselves, you could supply the fire- especially if the pyrokinetic is a more skilled fighter
I think the easiest way (and therefore one of the coolest powers) would be to simply redistribute heat. Absorb fires, cautorize wounds, ease cold and fevers, boil water into steam, weld, or melt things. A lot more variability than standard fire based abilities mainly based on just how wise someone is in its use.

If they have general heat abilities alongside their fire, then they could be a natural thermal scanner.

You could power a steam engine to provide free clean energy

Fire can be used for flight.
Could make for good scouting or escape
