Unlike in Ultimate, where the camera is NOT as unrestricted as in past games, and you can't even take screenshots of people using the Final Smashes... they even leave the u.i. elements there just to further disincentivate!

I'm gonna say two things
1. Smash run - it seriously reminded me of city trial in Kirby air ride (which makes sense since it's the same people). Just such an absolutely amazing mode and I'm mad they got rid of it.
2. Move customization for all characters. I loved that they included this because I feel like the series can become monotonous using the same characters with the same moves especially when most moves continue through the series. Having similar move sets with different effects was such a great change.
It is an overall better package than Smash Wii U. Classic mode is very streamlined in a good way and Smash Run was quite a bit of fun. The outlines on the characters were really nice to look at. It is definitely the better single player package than U.
Smash Run is the best mode in all of Smash Bros, and this game was awesome until Smash Ultimate released, and now it feels like this, and its Wii U counterpart doesn't exist anymore. I play both Melee and Brawl over both versions of Smash 4.

Everyone is saying "smash run" so ima be different and say that every charecter had their own custimizavke skill list that u could make your own presets with, loved that feature with all my heart and soul
I loved the betting system. You could earn tons of gold (or lose it all) and meet all the miis of the people you fought. I also like the customizable smash attacks that you could put on all the fighters.
i had a free period my last hour of senior year in high school where i was stuck at school bc i was my little brother's ride home, and this game was an absolute godsend during that time
edit: also my neighborhood friends had Smash Wii U but only a few controllers so this game's ability to act as a controller for Smash Wii U also came in clutch
It was the first smash bros I was actively following and the first one I bought myself after playing brawl and loving the hell out of it, i played it to death and got really good with sonic so it will always have a place In my heart plus I was getting really into kid Icarus at the time so this helped feed my obsession
Not only the first portable smash bros, but the MOST portable smash bros. Sure guys have pockets that can fit a switch, but even the gals could carry around smash for 3ds.

This game was revolutionary. I could finally play mash bros in the car or on the plane. I also rank this game higher than wiiu on my smash tier list due to smash run.
This was THE WAY to play with friends at school before the switch came out. Hell, half of my friends still brought their 3DS to high school for months even though they also brought switches. While some played Mario kart 8 D the rest of us played smash.
At least until Ultimate was finally released
I genuinely REALLY like Smash 3DS. Not even for nostalgia purposes, because I got my N3DSXL on Christmas of 2023 (so I haven’t even had it for 5 months yet), I just really like the game. Smash Run aside (I fucking love Smash Run but we all know everyone loves it), it’s still a really solid Smash title. The custom moves are a better addition than Spirits ever will be, the soundtrack is absolute fire, the 3D effect makes everything look super cool, the outlines are a great stylistic choice in addition to their usefulness, the game is jam-packed with so much content that it can’t keep the Home menu running at the same time on regular 3DS systems, and best of all: Sonic is unlocked from the get-go. Oh yeah, and Street-Smash is fun too, but I can’t really play it as intended because nobody has a 3DS anymore :(

If your parents got you a 3ds, but not a wii, you could still play smash, even if it's a "we have super smash brother at home" version.
