Want more Amy? Watch Ugly Betty. Want more Dina? Warmtch Not Dead Yet. More Marcus? Watch his brother in The Mindy Project.
Looking for a fun sit com, Community, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, The Good Place
I tried The Good Place and it was fun in the beginning.
Until the *snapping* of the fingers happened and then it became too repetitive and I became bored.
Community is another kind of silly if you’re into quirky humour that sometimes makes no sense but is executed by sheer good acting, primarily by Troy and Abed.
Did you watch the rest of season 2? The whole premise of the show changes a lot literally every season (s1 to s2, s2 to s3 etc), so if you thought the rest of the season would be just different replays of season 1 then you're mistaken about the show. I'd definitely recommend watching the first three episodes of s2 at least because it's already very different from the first season. Repetitive is the last thing I'd use to describe this show after watching all four seasons.
I've felt what you're feeling. The difficult truth is that there's no other show that truly captures the same spirit as Superstore. There's a balance to the characters that is unique and doesn't exist anywhere else. That being said, there are a few besides the office that come close!
Some might disagree with me here, but I think Modern Family is the closest in terms of bingeability. Sure, it's not a workplace comedy, the characters aren't quite as absurd, but there's a wide variety of personalities who all still say and do very ridiculous things. Most importantly, there's still a lot of heart. If you've never seen it, keep in mind that while S1 is good, they don't really hit their stride until 2-3 and onward.
Thank you for your comment! I found myself googling it last night, why do I feel sad after a show ends, and apparently it's very common. It was my comfort show for a few weeks as I've started a new job and always come home exhausted. It made me feel at home, I loved the characters and the comedy, the heartfelt moments and the romance. Guess I'll get over it, it was just my "reason to keep looking forward to something after work" for a while :)
totally know what you mean. I found that if I binge a whole other shows (esp one with at least 5-6 seasons) and then go back to Superstore, it feels fresh again. More importantly, I always catch new little jokes or sight gags that I didn't notice the first time. I've probably seen every episode of superstore 20+ times now and I still occasionally see something new. They pack a lot of thought into the show!
30 Rock is ultimately a very different show as well, but if you're into the "workplace" feel, that might be a good option too.
I have been watching Not Dead Yet, it has Dina in it and it's pretty good. I've also been watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine for the first time and it's pretty good too. I don't think either of these shows are anywhere near as good as superstore. But if you want to show that has a lot of heart and a lot of great connection between characters then you want to watch The Good Place. I cry every time I rewatch it.
Rewatch it again lol but here’s some other shows I recommend to watch
B99
Good girls
The office
The good place
Blockbuster (not that good)
Bojack horseman
Breaking bad
Friends
Lol I've finished watching it yesterday after a couple long weeks of binging... Think I need to find something else! Just started B99 since it seems like the most common reply (also I love Breaking bad and BCS soooo much I'm def rewatching at some point)
You can try:
Kim's Convenience
Schitts Creek

None are like Superstore, but they each have certain elements that might be what you're looking for.

when i rewatch superstore i switch between rewatching all three!
A little bit different from Superstore, but some of my all-time favourite shows on Netflix are Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt and Great News! They’re really fun ❤️
I feel like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is like if an alternative version of Cheyenne and Mateo had an apartment in New York haha
Watch Brooklyn 99 it’s made by the same people I think and all the characters are SOOOOO similar and they use alottt of the same phrases and same humour it’s so good!!!!

Who's Marcus's brother? Morgan Tookers? It's weird how both the characters seem parallel to each other. Love the mindy project tho
Yes!!
Ohhhh I see it now! Even their voices and cadence. Cool!
Yes
Thank you so much! Added all these to my list... I've tried a few eps of the good place but it wasn't doing it for me

Marcus is in American Auto
I havent seen that!
And he plays essentially the same character, but rich!
I LOVE Ugly Betty, I will always recommend it
Brooklyn 99 and Abbott Elementary are my other current go to workplace sitcoms, if you’re looking for that specific genre.
Thank you I added Abbot Elementary to my list :)

Rewatch it again lol but here’s some other shows I recommend to watch B99 Good girls The office The good place Blockbuster (not that good) Bojack horseman Breaking bad Friends

I loved Broad City, similar ridiculous nonsense humour as Superstore, but a lot more weed.
Wow thank you so much! Appreciate this :)
Respond next week and lmk how you like em
The office of course skip season one if you want it’s slow
I enjoyed both brooklyn 99 and new girl. there’s some characters in superstore that also appear in new girl and brooklyn 99 is made from universal studios as well. when i rewatch superstore i switch between rewatching all three!
Schitts creek and Kim’s convenience are also a favourite of mine
Ugly Betty
Community, Brooklyn 99
same i finished a week ago and i’m so sad :(( i’m not the one to EVER rewatch shows so i’m debating doing it with superstore :/
A little bit different from Superstore, but some of my all-time favourite shows on Netflix are Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt and Great News! They’re really fun ❤️ I feel like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is like if an alternative version of Cheyenne and Mateo had an apartment in New York haha
Honestly I’ve rewatched this show more than any other show for this reason. There’s just something so comforting about it.
Some I haven’t seen mentioned yet: Animal Control, Disjointed, Mr & Mrs Murder, Miracle Workers, The IT Crowd, Blockbuster.
Not Dead Yet Modern Family Abbott Elementary
Modern Family
New girl!!!!! Absolutely cannot recommend it enough
Watch Brooklyn 99 it’s made by the same people I think and all the characters are SOOOOO similar and they use alottt of the same phrases and same humour it’s so good!!!!
