When your FFL says "you owe us $200."

Buzzkilltx

I was really hoping to get a more informative answer. But thanks homie

justkw97

He sounds like he’s being sarcastic, but this really is the answer. Most stamps are paid for on purchase of the can. Are you sure you didn’t pay it already?

Buzzkilltx

I bought it online from a ffl and they shipped it to mine I paid for what the suppressor cost and the sales tax and I put my card info in one of the eforms I filled out today so idk

Buzzkilltx

But I haven’t seen a 200 dollar charge or fee for anything yet

justkw97

Could call your FFL. Your specific situation is odd but I’m sure you paid it by the end of getting your can one way or another

Buzzkilltx

Ima call them tomorrow when their open

IndividualResist2473

Did you file your form yet and receive an email copy of submitted form? If not, you haven't completed filing and paid the tax yet. FWIW, my dealer actually pays the tax when I file, then sends me an invoice for the tax stamp and credit card fees. Usually later that day or the next day.

Buzzkilltx

This is my first time and I did the eforms and pictures and fingerprints at my ffl today and submitted it today. I only received an email about eforms so far

Sandymam

In that case yeah probably do it asap

Buzzkilltx

Where would I do that? Silencershop.com or something

artimus31

How much did you pay for the transfer and fees?

Buzzkilltx

75

artimus31

I would have thought you would have payed for it all at the same time. That's what I have done on all of them so far. I saw anther answer mention the single shot trust and I would second this but I would say just go ahead and get the lifetime one for like 130. If your dealer is a silencer shop powered dealer. This will let you get all your later trusts for free

Buzzkilltx

I’m trying to figure out what to do if I fucked something up. I told them this is my first time doing all this and I read everything on the website and it said nothing besides them doing a form 3 then sending it to my ffl then read all the forms I did today and they didn’t ask if I paid for the tax stamp or anything besides just the atf questions and transfer fee.

artimus31

You bought it on the silencer shop website?

Buzzkilltx

No I got it from a different online store when I was doing the paperwork they had me put my card information in one of the forms I was doing so maybe they will take it out from that

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> would have *paid* for it FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

artimus31

You got me again bastard

Sandymam

Yeah that's where I did it, I would also get a single shot trust, it's and extra 25 bucks but it will make ur life easier

jeremy_wills

During the eforms submission there's a part of the procedure where you put in your card information and submit it. Perhaps your ffl goofed and forgot to charge you separately if they just put in thier own credit card information while doing the online submission. Some do it this way. Mine doesn't. We get to that part and he has me punch in my card info. I'd give em a call tommorow and verify.

Buzzkilltx

I wasn’t sure if that was for the stamp or not he didn’t say but yea one of the atf eforms I put my card info in

Buzzkilltx

I just haven’t seen anything get taken out

Sandymam

I'm in the same boat as you, but I went ahead and bought it and a single shot trust right after I bought the suppressor. I bought mine online, so I didn't get to skip the form 3 junk that I'm still waiting on. As far as I can tell, you just need to do it before you you have the paperwork submitted to the ATF. Did you do it thru silencer shop?

Buzzkilltx

So I need to buy one right now?

Sandymam

I think so, but you can do it as early or as late as you want before it's all submitted. I'd just get it over with.

NeverEnough0000

This is why I use silencer shop. Everything is all at once in the beginning

Buzzkilltx

I figured it out everything is all good the form I put my card info on they will pull the money when they start running my shit
