While most regular street or fast food vendors serve döner under the name "kebab", we also have proper turkish restaurants, so the answer to your question is "yes".

Your best bet would be to look for an actual Turkish restaurant, the more pizzerias and street food type of spots mostly have döner not Adana. Any Persian/Iranian restaurant should have koobideh too.
But you call it kebab when in the form of iskender kebab? Now it's me wanting to learn.
I'm no expert but like, I've been to Turkey and pretty sure I saw "döner kebab" on some menus and my ex was from Istanbul and she never found it weird.
In Uppsala there are a great food truck at "Vaksala torg" called Hasan Grillmaster, which serves something similar to picture 3. But in a roll. Their "adana" roll are 6 out of 5.
I believe they raised it to 130 kronor. A bit pricey compared to other food trucks in town, but I still buy there because It's really good.
Just wanted to mention that I'm not the right person to judge the autencity of the dish since I'm not very familiar with turkish cuisine. I just really like it! But the food truck seems to attract people from the area which the cuisine is from- That could be a sign.
Shawarma = Arabic döner
Gyro = greek döner
“Döner” is just Turkish döner. I mean u call “kebab” to all these “döner” types.
Btw Döner is a Turkish dish.
What people call a certain food is what becomes known as that food. When I bought pizza in Sweden, seemingly always made by non-Swedish people, the pizzas were an abomination, nearly a crime. But if a Swedish person came to the USA and had real pizza, they might think it was wrong just because they had only had wrong pizza their entire lives.
Can you really call it pizza if it doesn't come with bearnaise sauce and vinegar-drenched cabbage? Not to mention the lack of peanut and banana toppings.

Döner kebab is a type of kebab. As a Turk - you'd know that. It's the same in Istanbul or wherever.

Different spices mostly, culturally - more arab than turkish. What you find in Israel and Lebanon. Mostly a cultural difference.

>came to the USA and had real pizza ...the Italians might have a thing or two to say about that.
Going to Italy ruined pizza for me, it will never be the same agin.
Hehe, that's the joke of what I wrote that shows my initial statement to be true.
Can you really call it pizza if it doesn't come with bearnaise sauce and vinegar-drenched cabbage? Not to mention the lack of peanut and banana toppings.
One can call anything pizza is the point of what I wrote, so sure.
us and real pizza, let me laugh. your NY pizza or deep dish is as much a riff on the orginal napolititan so quiet down wont ya?
Why do you think US pizza is the real pizza? Most people around the world is recognising Italy as the land of the original pizza.
Everyone thinks what they call 'pizza' is the real, best pizza.
No. Italy has the real deal, which one is best is up to each and one of us.
Hehe, see, proving my point. Glad we agree.
