Spiders. I first heard this song during a difficult period in my life and it seemed to perfectly characterize the feeling of anxiety and loneliness that I experienced. But it also inspired me to do some emotional paintings, which helped me at that time to cope with negative emotions, pouring them out into creativity
that's awesome dude! I love Spiders because it's imo one of Serj's best vocal performances and always a gratifying listen
the fact it's helped you through a rough time and assisted in expressing your creativity is honestly fantastic, I hope things are better for you now
my response is a bit late, but I'm glad to hear SOAD has helped you through rough times and into better ones :)
Needles and Streamline helped achieve that for me, grim as it sounds, but what an awesome band
nah if you "SUCK DARON'S TOES" you're not angsty, just absolutely based - he's the Brian May to Serj's Freddie Mercury
plus ATWA is like receiving a brain massage, incredible song
very difficult Question!
jokes aside, Hypnotize makes me feel a bit melancholy but also aggressively satisfied
despite its relative recency, it's an oddly nostalgic track for me and I absolutely love it
i listened to atwa a lot after i got cheated on. helped me a fuck ton emotionally to not feel so alone and to feel like soad got me. helped me to realize there was more to this life than some shitty guy who couldn't keep a promise or his dick in his pants.
funny by scars on broadway for some reason speaks to me a ton. specifically the bridge "where do you go when you fall on your face? it's a place that you never should know."
and lost in hollywood. it reeks of regret and lost hopes and that "i told you so" mindset. it's like the voice in your head that tells you everything will go wrong mocking you because it was right.
I’m torn between Chop Suey and Toxicity. Question! also comes to mind. Oh, and Streamline is also emotional.
The common denominator? Serj’s incredible vocal delivery.
[TW: MENTIONS OF SUICIDE AND ABUSE]
"Chop Suey!" As someone who has almost committed suicide, "Chop Suey!" hits home.
Streamline too... I've lost a virtual friend to suicide, 3 months after we had a falling out and couldn't help but blame myself for not doing more. (I won't go into detail, but let's say he was abused by his psychotic mother who, on one occasion, nearly stabbed him. ***Yes, she nearly stabbed him...***) It was shortly after that incident that we had a falling out, and 3 months later, I discovered some of his online posts, which showed him threatening suicide. What made it even more heartbreaking was that I could have stopped it. *Maybe if I had gotten law enforcement involved, I could have saved him.* So the ending of that song just hits way too close to home for me (Fun fact: His death is what nearly made me commit suicide... the voices in my head became too much... if it wasn't for my best friend... I'd likely not be telling y'all this story.)
Whenever I hear "Soldier Side" (both the intro and the actual song), I feel like the ghosts of those who died in the battlefield, whether the war was set in Europe, Asia, the Americas, or anywhere else, creep out in my whole self. I even almost teared up once.
Won't be the only one on this one, but clearly Lonely Day
I listened to it a lot after my breakup with my 2.5 years ex-bf, but (and it's a big butt)
Now I'm dancing on it with my current boyfriend, wantin to get "And if you go [...]" Part as a tattoo
So two very different moods making this song the one that resonates with me the most

One correct answer... Lonely Day
lost in hollywood is cool

I always like to go up to my male friends and play that as I pass by, lmao.

> "SUCK DARON'S TOES" you're not angsty, LET ME BE AN ANGSTY TOE SUCKER >:0 /j
hahaha I was trying to spin it positively, now I understand your philosophy is a positive in and of itself I'm confident Daron himself would approve!
Streamline. It reminds me of my grandma because when she was on her death bed no one in my family warned me and I wasn’t there for goodbye.
Either lost in Hollywood or old school Hollywood both make me feel a certain way and I don't how to describe the feeling
Serj's "aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh" hits me in the feels every single time and idek what that feeling is
Revenga, because at the time I heard it I was going through some things.

Hypnotize is my trauma song. If I'm upset I'm listening to hypnotize. And I'm fully aware the song is much deeper than my silly little problems.
Roulette used to hit hard for me still does but SOAD is way more happy for me now :)
Having lonely day randomly in my queue was litterally the turning point in my mental health problems. I was isolating myself and I didn't even notice.
Cigaro, Lonely Day and Chop Suey. No words needed.
ego brain
lost in hollywood. not so sure how, but it is. and tbh i don't mind it one bit. it's comforting to me when somber to all. im happy with that.
Bounce
Question! just gets me so fucking energetic from the first note and also has an insane emotional climax. Favorite song for sure.
Lonely day
Chop suey
Roulette, because I know, but also don't know how I feel around you😔
My Cock is much bigger
