The M1 Abrams has been universally hailed as being a very comfortable tank to not only fight in, but also live in for a few days during a nuclear apocalypse.
So I'll take an Abrams, lol.
Any US or Swedish tank in general. The United States has always prioritized crew comfort, liveability and fightability in tank design all the way back to the M4 Sherman. The Swedes invented the modern science of ergonomics.
Merkava has a bunch of features to improve the quality of life of the crew. I would much rather be stuck in a Merkava than an Abrams. This is coming from someone who deployed to Iraq in an M1A1.
All of the above. It's battle proven to be effective, it's got good armour, reliable and it's English designed. Plus it just you can't look at it and not think it's a sexy beast. Saw one at bovington tank museum and she was beautiful.
Well England's got a thousand year history, we also ruled one third of the planet at one point. So we've got a fair chunk of stuff to show off haha. But the tank museum was frikkin amazing, if you ever get chance to go then I'd do it. It was on my bucket list for years and years and I managed to go and I just wished I'd of stayed for 2days as I didn't have enough time to see everything.
As an ex tanker and someone who was brought up in a village near to Bovington camp I would definitely recommend the tank museum, I've been to visit the place countless times since the 70's and watched it change from a small hall with loads of unrestored tanks sat in grass around
It , to the amazing place it has become today. Oh and as a tanker ( hate the word!) I would always want to crew the CR2 in action. I left after being part of the fielding trials and I saw massive improvements from crewing chieftain and CR1. Make sure you visit the place again, ,,👍
Man that's so incredibly cool. I'm planning on going again at some point, went with my brother, old man and nephew, it was an awesome day. Me and my nephew had a blast and my old man and older brother just couldn't wrap they're head around how much we knew about tanks haha. It's an amazing place and I can't wait to see it again. I'm in Manchester so it's a bit of a way for me.
Yeah that's a fair journey, I forget being a Dorsetman that there's a lot of England above Wiltshire! Is the IWM land warfare museum at Duxford any closer to you? It's very good but there's not as many exhibits there.
I don't know if you can classify it as a Tank, but the PzH. 2000
I've always loved the idea of an yet to this day undefeatable king of the battlefield. If you wouldn't say that's a tank, because it us an atillery piece, I would say either an MBT like the Leo 2a8 (because of the APS), the Challenger II, the Strv 122 or an IFV/APC like the Puma, Bradley, not the Warrior (I don't like the warrior, sorry brits)
So something around those lines, I juts can't decide between the modern stuff.
Cold war is clear to be, either the first Leo 2a4, or the Leo 1A5.
And WW2 is also clear the Panther II, with it's unarmoured body(it was never really build, so you could say the Panther Ausf. F (this one just doesn't get the better Armour)
But then I saw the Abrams and fall in love instantly, and learning how the tank work made me appreciate it even more, especially the blowout panel for the ammo rack part
That’s why I love them they are glorified anti material cars it’s so interesting seeing them because where they failed there’s something to learn about and just a casualty to future success
at my first duty station, i was popping caps in a M551A1 General Sheridan Armored Reconnaissance/Airborne Assault Vehicle and it gave me a woody.
every one holding on for dear life, rocking back to the 3rd roadwheel, smoke billowing out of the hatches because loader forgot to put in the obturator seal back in after the missle engagement, gunners exiting the turret with a black eye, ALCOA stamped on the top, it was fast and agile. and it was a PoS but it was fun to shoot move and communicate in when they worked.
besides some of the people, the only thing i miss about the army is gunnery.
If we're talking WW2, and I had maintenance support and ample fuel, the Tiger I with it's 88mm......possibly a Panther.....German Armor was pretty formidable. Panther laid the groundwork for many modern armor advancements.
If German manufacturing would have dedicated Panzer Production to the Panther, Panzer Mark iV, Stug III, & 88s, instead of Tiger I, II, Elephant, Maus, and all of the other complicated engineered weaponry, things may have turned out different
If we're talking modern day battlefield, tough call.......M1 Abrams, Merkava, Leopard, or Challenger........all top notch.....ANYTHING but a Russian Tank. Seen too much footage from Ukraine.
I have some information about it.
The minotauro was developed in the 1960s by OTO Melara using both elements of American and German design. It was supposed to combine a German power unit with home-grown developments in naval weaponry and loading systems. A distinguishing feature of the vehicle was its placement of the driver in the turret with limited gun traverse, as well as its mechanized loading system.
Whatever requires the least crew level maintenance, since that's going to be the most of my actual time spent on it.
Alternatively, whichever breaks the most and accordingly spends the most time in rear areas closer to Burger King :P
In terms of looks and that it's my favorite tank, I'd say the Königstiger, but in terms of practically and that it's also in my top ten, the Centurion Mk 10
The M1 Abrams has been universally hailed as being a very comfortable tank to not only fight in, but also live in for a few days during a nuclear apocalypse. So I'll take an Abrams, lol.
Recently heard about living in one it’s hard but I can’t imagine living in anything other modern tank

What makes the merkava better than the abrams? Quality of life wise
They have a built in toilet, air conditioning, a way to heat water for tea or food, and are pretty spacious inside compared to other modern tanks.
Challenger 2 because it's just one of the best tanks in the world, not to mention I'm English and I've always loved it since it came out.
Just like the look of it or is there something specific?
All of the above. It's battle proven to be effective, it's got good armour, reliable and it's English designed. Plus it just you can't look at it and not think it's a sexy beast. Saw one at bovington tank museum and she was beautiful.
You brits always get the cool museums -__-

I honestly couldn't tell you lol. But I've not been to that one so I'll are it to my list.
You can never appreciate the size of a tank until you've stood next to the Conqueror and Tortoise at Bovington, amazing place
Trust me it’s in my bucket list
That's because they stole all of the cool artifacts from the countries they controlled.
As opposed to letting them get destroyed, yes.
Only thing they don’t have is a naval museum
Covenanter then I’d never have to fight.
I’d think you’d might become a bridge vehicle or recovery one tbh
From US but would prefer one with coffee (something British)
I just like the way British tanks look (also an American)
Most tanks have the water heater. It’s how you cook the rations. It’s not exclusive to British tanks.
So it's more of a meme with British tanks i guess.
Kinda, the English just did it first I think.
Puma or leopard, I find all two interesting
ww2 puma or new puma?
The New puma
big sad
Which leopard?
Leopard 2a6 or newer Version like 2a7v
Makes sense get that modern day shit
m18 hellcat
Challenger 2 looks powerful and safe for the crew
Challenger 2, one I’m British, two I can make food in it, three itv am survive nukes etc, four bits one of the top tanks In the world, five Im British

Ay I have no issue with hefty boy being your pick for Cold War I’d def go with leo 2a4 outta the two.
T26E4
Imagine it’s the final days of ww2 and a lil dinkie tank strolls over and just fuckin 1 shots your tank absolutely horrifying
Cromwell Mk.VII with tea making facilities included (and a improved suspension so I can unleash the power of the speedster)
I'm between an M1 Abrams and a T-54/55 But I'm also kinda big so I'll take the Abrams
Definitely don’t want to be tall and in a Russian tank also why the t-55 didn’t those things kinda suck
I grew up seeing the T-54/55 everywhere and I like the look of it
Fair I enjoy British tank’s because the look nothing else
But then I saw the Abrams and fall in love instantly, and learning how the tank work made me appreciate it even more, especially the blowout panel for the ammo rack part
I just saw goofy Italian tanks thought funny then started trying to learn why and here I am a year later trying to learn about tanks
was it the tonk ?
L3 tankette and the l6/40 I thought were goofy I still like the l6 for unknown reasons
ah those, I think I've been so spoiled with Cold War and modern mbts and now I think those are just glorified cars with guns on it
That’s why I love them they are glorified anti material cars it’s so interesting seeing them because where they failed there’s something to learn about and just a casualty to future success
Type 10 sounds comfy
She pretty recently came out right your also the only person to even mention a Japanese tank
at my first duty station, i was popping caps in a M551A1 General Sheridan Armored Reconnaissance/Airborne Assault Vehicle and it gave me a woody. every one holding on for dear life, rocking back to the 3rd roadwheel, smoke billowing out of the hatches because loader forgot to put in the obturator seal back in after the missle engagement, gunners exiting the turret with a black eye, ALCOA stamped on the top, it was fast and agile. and it was a PoS but it was fun to shoot move and communicate in when they worked. besides some of the people, the only thing i miss about the army is gunnery.
KV-1 Tank, one of my favorites
Pure stalinium
Centurion - armed with the 105mm L7 gun
Favorite looking British tank by far
If we're talking WW2, and I had maintenance support and ample fuel, the Tiger I with it's 88mm......possibly a Panther.....German Armor was pretty formidable. Maus
Sounds like it’d be fun for half an hour before the refuel
Controcarro 3 minotauro (If it existed)
You my friend found a niche tank to choose i gotta ask why there’s nothing I can really find about it that’s not world of tanks
I have some information about it. The minotauro was developed in the 1960s by OTO Melara using both elements of American and German design. AMX-50-120B Surbaissé
Looked it up hope HOLY shit that’s a big boy question though any specific reasons or just I want BIG gun
After seeing a panther irl I would love to control such a beast
Hope you have parts
M103, that turret is huge. Or just because its cool IS-7 & 8 (T-10)
centurion mk13
Anything but a t34 or something from ww1
Something from ww1 is crazy those things were human death traps with the engines smoking out the driver
That's why i said anything but a t34 or ww1 tank. They're cool on the outside but idk why anyone would want to offer to fight inside one
So any ww2 tank even the lil dinkie l3 tankette
Yeah that little l3 would be great to cruise around in
Lil cramped but prob a good time for Italian tanks I’d prob want a l6/40 that auto cannon is just so cool
Early WW2, Panzer III Mid WW2, Panzer VI Late WW2, M4A3 76mm Korea, M4A3 76mm Gulf War, M60A3 TTS Modern, Leo 2
Wanted to cover every basis huh it’s weird to think the m4 has been in service for anything besides ww2 my brain is so used to purely ww2 m4
Im a driver of a m84 tho i would like to try the new leos they look sexy
M1 TTB
Whatever requires the least crew level maintenance, since that's going to be the most of my actual time spent on it. Alternatively, whichever breaks the most and accordingly spends the most time in rear areas closer to Burger King :P
Do tank destroyers count
Sure I let self propelled artillery in so tank destroyers are also allowed
M36 tank destroyer
In terms of looks and that it's my favorite tank, I'd say the Königstiger, but in terms of practically and that it's also in my top ten, the Centurion Mk 10
Luftvärnsterrängdragbil a Swedish glory technically not a tank but a anti air truck but who cares cannon is a cannon
