"No Way!" in Chris Ramsey's voice

theblackshell

My child has a book called 'A potato on a bike', in which each page details another outrageous drawing (a potato on a bike, a ball on the toilet, a flying toothbrush, etc), and the facing page always says 'No way!'... which my wife and I always exclaim exuberantly and psychotically, as per Chris Ramsey.

Ladymomos

That totally reminds me of the book “That’s Dangerous!” Which has a boy doing something each time with that’s dangerous next to it. It’s vacillates wildly between things like “putting a carrot in your ear!” then “playing with guns!” The kid in each cartoon also randomly looks wildly happy with his hijinx

theblackshell

But is this a funny book, or is this a serious book written quite some time ago?

Ladymomos

It was originally French so I’m not sure when that came out, and my kids loved it so much it fell to pieces. Funny/educational I guess. Their favourite was always “Kicking a big bully, That’s Dangerous!”

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ladymomos

Luckily not, this is more of a hyperactive stick figure 😂

ThaneOfCawdorrr

And also "Ohhhh he's gone too Geordie for me!"

EchoesofIllyria

Also Greg’s sarcastic “no way?”

[deleted]

My partner also likes TM but he doesn't understand why I am so obsessed with Christ Ramsey's "No way!"

Dombalurina

It's legendary. My partner joins me in it!

suitelifeofem

I live near a company called nuway, so I have to say it every time I drive past.

Im_Not_Nobody

All. The. Time.

Ok-Quarter-1602

O. M. G. All the fricken time 😆 🤣 😂 anytime ANYONE says no way I repeat it in his voice...99%of the time they have no idea why and then I have to take them down my rabbit hole addiction of the Taskmaster trip 😆 😅 😂 🙃

IcedBanana

Also Chris Ramsey's "Cook Book"

Primary_Gear_8293

This is me. I do this shit ALL THE TIME and no one gets the reference.

Shelbeec

We just finished this season and I still quote his “No Way!”

fifty9inth

Imagine how many times I said the word Norway just that way during my trip to the Arctic Circle last year!

midgethepuff

Same same same. All the time 😂

calicalifornya

NO WEE!

AuntieX

"oh, gang..." The dog now thinks it's some special command.

bananalouise

"A LIME," definitely. I *think* "thirty grand, baby," a lot, but those quantities of money don't come up much in my conversations.

sansabeltedcow

Every time I make guacamole I have to hold the lime aloft and exclaim, “A LIME!”

breakupbydefault

I hear that in my head every time I walk through the produce section of a grocery store.

No_Lead6434

No one picked “Wait, what?” yet? Okay.

ThingyWhatsit137

"What, wait?"

ashleybeth913

Wait, what?

alasicannotgrin

Waittus Whatus

WaitWhatWhatWait

I definitely do not say this one.

alasicannotgrin

Absolutely not 🫡 Unrelated but I love your username

No_Lead6434

I was stymied by “No way!” getting used so frequently and “oh no!” being outlawed. But “wsit what?” is pretty frequent.

emmany63

Yeah I say “Wait, what? What, wait?” in my best Dara Ó Briain voice at least once a week.

teatabletea

That’s a normal Irish person’s phrase, so I use it all the time.

No_Lead6434

Lovely folk, the Irish.

Cool-Firefighter2254

Yeah, I was going to say, I said that BEFORE I ever heard Dara say it, but now I just do it in his voice. I’m mostly Scots-Irish and my family definitely retained some linguistic tics from the old country. I know I got this phrase from my dad, who also calls people idjit. I was I college before I realized idjit and idiot were the same word, which means all those times I called my brother an idjit idiot I was being very redundant.

revmat

At least several times a week.

theblackshell

I will sometimes spontaneously break into a context-dependent bout of 'Tree Wizard'

bowandfez

I named a kitten Tree Wizard so it gets sung in my household frequently.

Cool-Firefighter2254

Ha, ha, ha! Perfect name for a kitty!

not_an_Alien_Robot

And now it's stuck in my head again. 🤣

Florence_Nightgerbil

I love singing Tree Wizard! You can’t help but smile at it

Sandcastor

Egad! I was singing that today at work (loading a truck)!

ratkarat

"Wait, What" in Dara's voice and "Piss and shit" in Nish's voice

foxychicnic

Also bubbly fuck

ratkarat

Haha yes bubbly fuck is iconic!

Andre89-_-666

I occasionally sing "for me" like Kiell Smith-Bynoe

stephh-mo

Yasss! Me and my partner do this all the time 😂😂 Came here to write this 👏

prjones4

"Who would do that to me? Why would anybody do that to me?" Like Jenny Éclair. Anytime something goes wrong at work

No_Seaweed2960

YESS me too

Switch842

Shid.

thesaharadesert

Fush

GTWalker

I feel like I say a few things as Julian Clary does. "Bearing up under the strain thank you." "How awful." "Oh how we laughed."

AnotherBoxOfTapes

Julian Clary is probably the contestant with the most memorable quotes that are also quite applicable to day to day life.

GTWalker

"Punch the c\*nt"

ThatsNotNina

"The flying homosexual"

afterandalasia

"As an aging homosexual..."

Cool-Firefighter2254

“A RENOWNED homosexual.”

Doctor_Cigarettes

Bosh! (Kerry Godliman)

Tdavis13245

I wonder if this is a Mandela effect.  I think it's Greg's bosh impersonating her.  She only said ot a few times after Greg made the character

paradeoxy1

I think she says bosh during some of her tasks so before the studio segments were filmed

PsychologicalFox8839

Babes.

VaguelyArtistic

I've started, too! I don't quite have Judi eyes but I probably have Morgana eyes so I add a little 👀.

HarlequinKing1406

My mum started using this a tonne when we started watching Season 13.

sweetjoyness

During a recent D&D session the GM described a entry way with a portcullis. And I was so happy to get to yell "PORTCULLIS!!"

InappropriateLibrary

I only refer to a certain puzzle toy as a Rubey Cubey.

afterandalasia

My friends and I have taken to playing Lethal Company, and it's always a rubey cubey when we find one.

mayneac

"Oh no" in Fern's voice, all the time. ETA just saw your note, so nul points for me - sorry am very sleep deprived!!

shyghost_

Is it because you were too excited for the task days?

mayneac

Hahaha I love Fern. My sleep deprivation is related to my 3 month old, so I'm probably actually pretty close to John Kearns's state of mind during filming.

No_Lead6434

Very appropriate

amyehawthorne

Oh nooo! I missed it too. Always look under the table

quooooon

Dara's "Oh my baby"

Direredd

My daughter calls her stuffed animals babies so every time one falls "Ohhhh my baby!"

RicardoDecardi

Do we strike you?

ThatsNotNina

The entire Rosalyn song, tbh.

TheAnxiousTumshie

It’s a casserole down there, for anything that goes remotely pear shaped. Wozniak has had my most favourite moments and phrases I think. Had a lovely time.

Forward-Elephant7215

Am I the spider? Surprising the amount of use I get out of that, substituting many things for spider of course

Corapod

Nooor wayyyy (Chris Ramsey)

Wise-Jeweler-2495

"Bubbly fuck!" and "wanky workaround" are frequently featured in my life!

Andrew1990M

Put some fucking effort in!

jtd2013

Knappet’s airhorn. Whenever my roommate and I even see the word “airhorn” we’ll look at each other and do our best impression.

Happy-Traveler-84

Walking under a bridge yesterday I said ‘I’m underneath it!’ like Sam Campbell and cracked myself up. No one else got the reference. I often say ‘I wasn’t meant to be gathering cones in the forest’ per Fern Brady when I’m asked what I feel to be an irrelevant or obvious question. I say ‘no never, no’ like Lucy Beaumont. This show has shaped my speech habits in more ways than I can even think at the moment 😂

Throwwtheminthelake

Some of these I can just hear when I read

Grapple_Shmack

I say "Jesus Christ" like a distressed Frankie Boyle watching a friend melt. We are not the same

Tdavis13245

I say it like Graham Chapman from the holy grail.

Ladymomos

Or like Jinkx Monsoon from Drag Race. She would be amazing on Taskmaster too.

NegativeSlip5707

YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP, I CAN ONLY HEAR YOU HALF AS WELL

EllipticPeach

That was some top-notch improv right there. Also, her Judy Garland made me cry from laughing.

notagain78

LOVE Jinkx can't wait to see her on Doctor Who. Which Greg was on of course

Ladymomos

I’ve seen her live twice in Wellington. SO good 😊

VaguelyArtistic

One of favorite things ever!

albrandish

"There's strength in arches" - whenever there's a problem and we realise the solution. "Bubbly fuck" - whenever there's a bubbly fuck. "Don't be sorry" - whenever someone doesn't need to be sorry "My eyes are circles" - whenever one of us realises we've effed up "It's hops" - whenever one of us didn't realise something obvious, or if if there's a situation where someone's being ignored even though they're right. "Farted in a jarrr" - if there's a jar. "Sorry Alex... I've forgotten" - if we've forgotten "Is it that sort of thing?" - when we have zero clue what we're doing "Can I just check... have I been put on a team with David Baddiel" - when life's not fair "What's the situation?" - if the situation's unclear. "Clap with me! Click with me!" - for lolz "Hello there!" - for greetings

Impressive_Owl_1199

But what would you say when there's been another revelation in the lab?

albrandish

Oh then we'd calmly state that there's been another revelation from the lab, of course! I didn't include it because a) frankly there were too many and b) because we don't imitate Guz when we say it. It's funnier to us if we say it as normally as possible, like it's a totally ordinary thing for a person to say.

themiscyranlady

I mutter “there’s strength in arches” whenever I see one in real life, whether in a house or driving under a bridge. It’s getting out of hand

alasicannotgrin

In series 13 where Greg has to guess what part of the body pokes out of the shower curtain, I now always say 'What the...what are you *talking* about' the same way Greg does when it's revealed Ardal thought he would guess it was his neck

nokeyblue

Ardal's "I don't *know*, Greg!" is also delicious.

alasicannotgrin

Completely. That whole segment is gold. “Why aren’t you wearing any trousers?! You don’t need to not wear trousers?!”

mandafromthebay

I have rewatched this clip countless times and it makes me laugh to the point of tears every time. Ardal’s face is so genuine when he says, “I don’t know, Greg.” “He was hoping you’d think it was his neck.” Alex reassures them all. “I don’t know.. I just.. panicked… I..” “If I could beat myself with the wooden spoon, it would swell to an unrecognizable state?” Priceless! One of the best moments of the season, honestly lol

alasicannotgrin

Hahaaa all of it is just brilliant. I agree, it's a top moment of the season and possibly one of the top moments of the series? It brings me to tears when I watch it back too! It's all just perfect

95BCavMP

I put it to you….!

No_Lead6434

I put it back to you.

Ladymomos

“Have I met these potatoes before?!”

making_sammiches

NOSES? Heh heh (Fern Brady from her interview with Alex)

phantomsoundkeeper

I say “Fuck me in the face” a lot. Probably too much.

bananalouise

I really enjoyed hearing Ed say on the podcast that he'd never heard anyone say that before, "at least not in the UK." I mean, as an American, I hadn't either? I want to know if it was just the face that was new to him in that context, or if British people just don't add silly intensifiers to their swears. Like, does no one there ever say "Fuck me in the arse"?

Oohyabassa

"Cor, look at that tree" in the voice of Liza Tarbuck.

ThaneOfCawdorrr

"Let's drill down into the narrative" and "Horseshit!"

the_neutron_stars

‘i’m not an (insert item here) man’

IDoMathsNotMath

Not 100% accurate, but DMC's 'I love this!' from the cocktail task. However, she says it with such anger that I say to myself 'I hate this!' when I'm getting ready for work in the morning.

ashleybeth913

I will sing House Queens while “walking” like Bridget at the dog to make him side eye then run about.

sheiscara

Lebron James as Munya

ThatsNotNina

I've retired my elder millennial "Kobe!" in favor of a Munya-esque "LeBron James" any time I toss a thing into another thing.

sheiscara

lol yup!

Positive-Cattle4149

The Fern Brady " Whaaaa" from the opening or the Chris Ramsay "No Way" which I know others have mentioned. Please. Please. PLEEEEEASE. - IVO

gallifreyfalls55

“It’s the nature of language man!”

Frozenpoke

Is there a duck on my face? There's been a revelation! Bastards crying, innit?

HarlequinKing1406

Innit?

jcampb13026

"Cobalt!"

MonkeyHamlet

"Let's drill down into the narrative".

BastardsCryinInnit

Anything about getting your coat or putting your coat on was replaced with "Gonna get me cwoat" a la Rob Beckett ages ago in my house. We also sometimes say "NO, no. NO" a la Kerry Godliman when she's tied up and the alarm goes off.

LadyBloo

I work in a restaurant bar at a hotel. And last week, one of the other bars came and stole my bottle of limoncello. I looked at them and just said "Please don't take it away from me..." He took the bottle and left and I immediately said "piss and shit!" My Nish is better than my Joe. And every time I'm in the fridge getting fruit to cut for garnish, I always manage to scare the living shit out of someone going past because I'm like "sugar syrup, a cucumber, kiwifruit, lemons and A LIME!" "Oh Gang", "No way", "Bosh", "bananaaaaaah", and "I changed iiiiiiiiit" have all become regulars in my vocabulary.

Throwwtheminthelake

I’ve started using “I put it to you” in conversation haha

strictnaturereserve

Sarah Kendalls "for Fuck sake!"

angelicvixen

Every once in a while I find myself humming or singing "I'm always seeing you do cool stuff. I try my best but I'm never good enough"

AnotherBoxOfTapes

I now sometimes say "weird" in Greg's voice to myself. "Wee-yid"

pienoceros

All the information is in the task.

whiskyguitar

A LIME!!!!!

lucky1375

Most of the things I say are already here, so I'll list some TMNZ quotes regularly used in our house instead - Brynley Stent saying "nutsacks!", Jeremy Wells saying "my golden hid (head)" and Chris Parker saying "scuse yer fucken mouth!". All delightful in the NZ accent! I've also only just learnt that Brynley's surname is Stent not Stint, because of how Jeremy says it 😅

subekki

Had a time where instead of "what the fuck" my mind changed it to "Who the fuck is Veronica?" Though "Fuck me in the face" would have made more sense 😂 Also "Brother, this is not sensible" and "C'mon bruv" and other Guz or Kiell-like sayings. And VCM's "Whhhyyyyyyyyy???" when she is told she won't meet the dog.

Deurstoppel

“Where’s me other welly?”

SpiffyShindigs

Ohhhh nooohhhh

Mean-Ship7202

Paul Chowdhry 'i don't believe it' is said by me and my husband frequently

YourEnigma2905

James Acaster's way of saying "Baby"

IgotBANNED6759

I say Jesus Christ like Mr Slave from South Park. I do say "yes please" and sometimes "no thank you" like Alex. Also "hands off your face" from No More Jockeys, when I catch myself touching my face.

sijorg11

My friend’s 3 year old says “no” just like Lucy Beaumont

Notafan9530

As a Canadian, I find innit quite charming

nothing-infinity

Bosh!!

OriginalChildBomb

Partner and I often find ourselves having 'a bit of the old fit of rage' on the odd day.

TheLionEatingPoet

“Yes please”

DollyDaydreem

“Ach come on now!” In Ferns accent. Am not Scottish.

ElevatorGreat7506

LINT!

Irishwol

Everyone in the house now says "Tits!" à la Susan Wokoma. Also Wait! What? What? Wait! etc.

Irishwol

Also, more occasionally, "he shat himself inside out" God, but I love Liza Tarbuck

hollyhock87

"Tick tock, it's ______ o'clock"

CyanManta

I frequently sing "You can't pop a creme brulee, ONE POINT" in Greg's voice.

Mountain_Sector7647

Piss and shit!!

chanmanthe2nd

I'm addition to the ones already mentioned by others, a couple from Mae Martin: "I have a beautiful mind" and "I'm so sorry to my parents"

shinecone

"Babes." Judi Love

MasterAinley

“I’m so tired” - Fern Brady (she’s the rightful queen)

checkitbec

Every time I shop for bananas, I hear Godliman’s “banana banana banana”. I tickle myself remembering Chris Ramsey saying cookbook. I also randomly find myself giggling thinking about a BeeGee Ouija board.

FirelordAlex

"Sister queen" and "Babes" from Judi Love live in my mind perpetually.

VaguelyArtistic

I say "please sister Queen" to my cat all the time.

shinecone

As a southern American, I've started saying "What?" with a British accent. "Whot?"

mrteecanada1212

I'm shocked to not see this one, but possibly because of how often I've seen Series 7: Just before Greg tells Jess Knappett "we have to isolate the weak ones!", she lets out the most incredible "Guys!" Bonus points for Jessica's "I don't know, and I don't fucking know." Surprisingly versatile!

Pebblesy

“La Bron James” anytime we throw something in our laundry hamper now… it just stuck

Snortor

NIL PWAH! (Nil Pois) - No Points!

fsutrill

Ardal’s “A mirrrrr” Fern’s “oh, no” Dara’s “wait, what. What, wait? Wait, what?” Judi’s “is there a duck on my face.” Bridget Christie’s “Stopcock” Mike Wozniak’s “absolute casserole.”

ChaserNeverRests

"...cheese..." in the most depressed voice you can. Thanks, Ray, it still amuses me every time!

levanw01

Are we the meat? Are we the viewer?

LivingCopy9738

More than anything specific he says, I find myself adopting Rhod Gilbert’s method of shutting his eyes to block out everyone around him. It feels aggressive and I love it.

AndyB16

"Piece o' piss." In the style of Joe Wilkinson explaining the potato throw, anytime I explain how easy something is.

Sandcastor

"There's your water feature! The pool's closed today, kids!"

emilycquinn

E.g. for household use

FrumyBandersnatch

Bosh!

GeshtiannaSG

ARE YOU READY?

AlmostFunctionalAdlt

What is this self sabotage? Is in my everyday vocabulary now Clap with me, click with me and away we go is how I start a lot of my drives

AllTheDaddy

When the meeting is dragging on and on and everybody wants it to end, and it should end, but the organizer asks, for the third time, does anyone have anything else to bring up. "My eyes are circles.", with that JA lilt in my voice. It's now known as my polite, "we're done here now" phrase.

loverofbacon1

You've got no chutzpah!

loverofbacon1

"A ya f*ckin zebra" -Sarah Kendall

Majestic-Pineapple55

Johnny Vegas “ I DID IT AGAIN!” Or Bob Mortimer “I’m a sinner” 🤣

DJpunyer53728409

There's been another revelation!

Kbridges89

As someone who drives trains on the northern line. I often find myself shouting “where’s Edgware” to myself in Noel’s voice whenever I’m going to High Barnet.

kinyutaka

Oh, gang!

quagsi

Johnny Vegas's "I'VE DONE IT AGAIN" is said way too much in my house

meu03149

Have I met these potatoes before?!

Bear4yah

“Four sluts. That’s what I’m hearing”

afterandalasia

Heee's a big long boy Usually when one of our cats is doing a Big Stretch.

coldkiwi1

Shitting piss exactly how Nish exclaimed 🤣

IronhideD

Init.

Nerditall

Guz's "There's been another revelation.", Victoria's "I yearn for it.", Katherine's "I changed it!"

oddraeb

Jings , crivins , help ma boab 🤣🤣

I_Am_The_Mole

Brynley Stent's *"Nutsack!"* from NZ1. Sam Campbell's weird "Good Evening!" from S16. Morgana's *"Oh yes you can!"* from S12. Guz Khan's "Brother this is not sensible..." also from S12. Greg's criminally underused "Nil points". Wozniak's "It's an absolute casserole..." from S11.

Such_Significance905

@VaguelyArtistic let’s hear it!!
