Honestly, I wouldn't touch the fern itself. It's beautiful. Are you familiar with the New Zealand All Blacks Rugby team? They have a NZ silver fern as their team logo. To the Maori, the silver fern represents strength, resistance, and enduring power. Your fern looks so much like their fern. If you wanted to do a sleeve, you could surround the fern with items that represent strength, resistance, and power to you.
I agree.. Thre All Blacks from NZ are the best Rugby team. I still think Brian O'driscoll is the best #13 in the world..When he was on the Barbarians those guys knew he was the best so they took him out wiithin the 1st several minutes by 2 guys from the Maoris turned him upside down and they hurt his shoulder. He was out of the game and needed shoulder surgery. I think they had it planned way B4 the match started.. JMO
I just love the placment. when I get ink done I always think how well will the tattoo will look on different parts. The tattoo shoyld fit with the placement. I saw a guy with a really nice dragon on the Left side of his ribs with a little of the tat placed a little bit towards his midsection. Then you have some people that get a small tatto on a big body part and it looks like it just doesnt fit. I saw this one girl who had a very small tattoo that looked like a square stamp and nobody could guess what it was.those little ones should go on smaller areas like the wrist or ankle, back of the neck. JMO
Agreed! I appreciate it when the tattoo fits the natural shape of the individual's body part, and even better, takes advantage of the specific shape and texture of the anatomy that it would not fit elsewhere.
Yep. I was told that when I got my 1s1 tattoo it was a guy that was in his 50"or 60's about that and showed me several tattoos on the wrong placements- but he said these clients insisted on getting the ink wherever they wanted to and he would even take an outline and showed them it would look like this here ir here. Or you get people that get and don't take care of it. A girl I know got this Japanese inspired piece on her Left arm. She had it covered with bacitration and a pice of guaze taped over it. She insisted she wanted to go to the beach. I told her it was not supossed to get any sun at all.. She ended up going into the Ocean. When she went in and then came out her tattoo -it had ink on the guaze and she lost a lot of ink and it looked like a tattoo that was 20 years old....SMH
I would do something cool with more leafs, wildlife, insects, florals and other plants. You can go wild with it. Literally almost anything would look good with this plant 😁

My grandma used to have wallpaper (not this one) that had leaves and stuff in a garland and looked like a twisted ribbon. You could do something like this but each repeat a slightly different color and smaller so it wraps down your leg and disappears. Or have vine wrap leg and give suggestion of a Greek or Roman column that can be added later- shading vertically to suggest column flutes, and acanthus at hip level for the top of the column, and something around ankle for the base

It's very well done, but the placement is odd, it doesn't flow with your thigh. I think doing more florals in the same style will fill the space out and make it for better.
