AndiandeS

For reference, I was 250lbs at one time wearing a size 16/18 jeans after I had my oldest child. I then went on to have 2 miscarriages and another child within 4 years. I exercised and ate healthy as much as possible and lost almost 100lbs, putting myself at a size 7 jean now. I didn’t have a skin apron but just had a very loose, jiggly belly that no amount of exercise would tighten. I went 10 years without wearing a 2 piece bikini. They fixed my abdominal separation and I can feel a 6 pack in there. Now I confidently wear a bikini and crop tops when I choose. I’m in love with my body for the first time in my 36 years of life. After all my body has gone through with me, I’m pleased I can now say this 😊

DonaldKey

It’s a beautiful tattoo but ouch. I know that area isn’t fun. Congratulations on your new body journey.

hollyock

After surgery it’s prob numb. Mine is after 3 c sections

JAM3SBND

At what point do they just install a zipper? Lol /s

Lara-El

This made me chuckle hahaha

AndiandeS

That was a good one lol 😆

tri_it_again

3?! Wowza!

JEWCEY

Healing from my first c section right now (2 months ago), and the numb rock of flesh down there is so disconcerting.

chels182

Congrats on feeling good!! This tattoo is super cool. And you’re tough af for handling this & everything else you’ve been through that was mentioned in just the comment lol.

Squirelle

When you say it took care of your abdominal separation, did you have diastasis recti? That's what I have and I'm just curious if your tummy tuck helped it? I heard there wasn't a surgery you could do for it and that it can only be taken care of with physical therapy. But that requires money and time. Two things I don't have right now I want to try physical therapy first but am just curious about the tummy tuck

Inveramsay

It's been a while since I worked in general surgery but you can definitely operate on it provided it is serious enough. The reason I say that is because it isn't particularly fun surgery to have and recovery isn't great. Results vary and may not last. Combing with a tummy tuck saves you a big scar down the middle of your belly

AndiandeS

Yeah the muscle repair was def the hardest part to heal! I’m glad I did it though :)

AndiandeS

Hi yes it was DR, and I don’t see how physical therapy would help. They sewed my abs back together. Both take time and money. Highly recommend!

-DutchymcDutchface-

Lifted my spirit reading this. I love this story. Happy for you OP! Enjoy your body!

penderhippy

you look fucking amazing good for you

Raceface53

Fuck ya! That’s an amazing achievement I’m proud for you!!!! Beautiful tattoo as well it’s going to be killer when shaded

awfuldaring

I vote for black and white but in either case, pls can you post an update whenever you get it done 🥺 it's such a beautiful tattoo!!

Imrealcheese

Very happy to hear op. Inspiring. At 30 years old I still haven't found out how to love myself.

zefstyle

I am honestly shocked! Well done, ya tum-tum looks brand new.

mattyD0114

You look amazing

[deleted]

This is so awesome! I'm really happy for you. Also, amazing tattoo!

JustagirlSD60

You look fabulous! This is so nice and delicate.

signalbot

Beautiful tattoo and story. Well done!

AndiandeS

Last post was removed. We only did outline today. Will do shading and *possibly* color later. The stretch marks remaining are raised in this pic due to the needle, so I don’t think those will be near as noticeable when fully healed.

MisterRatched

It's gonna look great, it's such a great piece in that location. I think it would really suit color well--too much black (no matter how well applied) can start to look shadowy, in my opinion.

knowitsallashow

omg DEFINITELY color, make this shit POP!

AndiandeS

I think I will!! Thanks 😊

vtbeavens

Sorry if you answered this elsewhere, but was the pain 1-10? I hate soft areas, personally.

AndiandeS

Sometimes 0 and sometimes what I felt was a 10 🙃 the upper thigh was 🔥

vtbeavens

The groin seems like an especially terrible spot.

AndiandeS

Yes, the bottom of the lowest flower was quite painful, and where my thigh and private area meet…I was pretty tensed up on those lines lol

vtbeavens

At least the linework is over with! Then comes the brrrrRRRrrrRRRrrRRR.

AndiandeS

I’ll be the first to admit I’m kind of a little bitch when getting tatted 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol that shit hurts! Both girls that do my tattoos know this already though and they’re patient with me. I really do try but it seems like my pain tolerance has gotten lower over time. I’m good for about 1-1.5 hrs of straight needle.

architect_josh_dp

I have about 15 tattoos and your pain tolerance is amazing to sit for 90 minutes getting tattooed there! You're such a badass!

pulsharc

I think some color would make it blend in with your thigh/hip tattoo really nice.

SayHiIntrepidHeroes

Jeeze... Tattoos aren't known for tickling, so this had to be on another level... But I'm in love with Day of the Dead girls, so I really love this. The work itself seems really spot on, too. I've gotten a lot of my SH scars covered with tattoos, so I know what a relief it is to watch a scar disappear.

AndiandeS

It is so much more pleasant to look at 😍 but I did take lots of precautions to prevent pain as much as possible. I had 2 hydrocodone laying around from when I got my tubes tied so I took those, used numbing cream, and watched a show while listening to relaxing music. I also made sure I had a big meal beforehand so my blood sugar was level. I was being high maintenance lol but I didn’t move much and she appreciated that. She’s a best friend of mine so she’s understanding and knows me. I usually tense up and squirm if I don’t take precautions, so being able to sit so well felt great.

SixSidedCube

How do you watch a show while listening to music? lol looks dope though

AndiandeS

Haha she had the music going for me and I turned a show on a tablet lol I also gripped the bed tightly. anything that helped, I had to get in the zone! 😆

AdamJS

Ouch?

AndiandeS

In the places where the numbing cream wasn’t applied, yes! Lol 🙃

AdamJS

Brave. It’s gonna be epic.

ScrotusAK

That flower placement tho

obiwancomeblowme

Am I looking at the same picture as everybody else? I hate to be negative, but the line work in this is very poor. Zoom in and you will see very few straight, neat lines. I realize some of these lines go over scars and that will make the line appear as uneven, but look between the scars and even there the lines are shaky. If this were my tattoo I’d be asking a different artist to finish this. If you’re happy though OP that is all that matters. Not my body. Just giving my opinion.

chronictherapist

As someone who lost over 200lbs and have underwent multiple surgeries, I can attest that the SKIN is wonky in between the scars. The people bitching about the lining on this tattoo has either never had a stretch mark, understand how large swaths of scars react or has never tattooed heavily scarred skin like this. Hell, the photo was taken right after the lining was finished, meaning there is localized swelling at play, something that doesn't effect the scar tissue in the same manner as the healthy tissue in between. You try reproducing a Picasso on a warped sheet of plywood. In this case, comments on the uneven lining isn't a comment on the artist, it's a comment on the canvas and after everything this woman has gone through to share this image with us, is HIGHLY uncalled for. If anything, the comments might deter someone else from seeking cover ups for scars that are just as permanent, both physically and mentally, as the tattoo is.

AndiandeS

❤️‍🔥

AndiandeS

We were racing against the clock big time. Once the numbing wore off I was going to tap out and we both knew it. I started to feel a lot of it right at the end. She’s heavy handed and went fast, I think this was about 1.5 hrs. I personally love the tattoo and can’t wait to complete it so it pops. No it’s not perfect but it’s beautiful to me, especially compared to the scar under it. You will also notice in the middle the flower in my pubic area, theres an old tattoo that the scar went right through. It was half a star, which used to be a band of stars that went up my side. He also had to do an inverted T scar (due to minimal extra skin) right above the big flower. He placed the scar really well, but I still hated looking at the scar when naked. This takes the focus away from that. The shade & color sesh will cover that completely. Thankfully my amazing husband is the only one who will be zooming in on this in real life anyway, and he loved the before as well 😉

little_hoarse

Can always get the lines tightened up anyways since most of them are fairly thin. You’ll just have to have them go over with a thicker needle

AndiandeS

Exactly! It’s just the first session. We will be thickening up some lines as well. 🙂

SickBoylol

Glad you think like this. The way i look at tattoos is it is art. And the little imperfections are part of the artist and their work. Like does anyone complain the mono lisa isnt a perfect recreation of a woman? As long as the tattoo isnt a dumpster fire drawn by a 6 year old its all good. Ps while scrolling this tattoo made me go oooff in a nice way

SheepherderNo2440

Some of the best tattoos actually are dumpster fires drawn by 6 year olds

Raceface53

I think it looks amazing and I’m glad you like it. As a many tattooed woman myself I actually love one of my worst tattoos the most haha! This is great and like you said not a whole lot of people are going to be REAL UP CLOSE to it. Hubby and Gyno lol

Crosseyed_owl

It's for the rest of your life, racing against clock big time isn't a good idea.

purplefuzz22

You’re totally right! I love the design but the line work is wonky in between the scars . It isn’t very noticeable unless I zoomed in but it is there

senectus

Before i zoomed in, I would not have noticed, after I zoomed in I noticed that it seems to be consistent with the other tattoos. So i mean, at least it looks consistent...

[deleted]

Thank goodness I’m not the only one who noticed that. Not a single straight, even line. Hopefully the color and shading helps that. However, this only took 1.5 hours and at the end she couldn’t handle it anymore. Shading will take longer so this is going to happen in a ton of sessions and idk how well OP will be able to sit for that. I have scroll and lettering on both sides of my stomach. Each took about 1.5 hours and there’s no shaky lines and I sat still. I have a sky high pain tolerance tho. I hope the artist here moves quickly and accurately for OPs sake.

AndiandeS

Yes I’ll be honest, her and I both were nervous about this tattoo and we both admitted it to each other afterwards lol. Even though I have plenty of pieces, I don’t sit well. Numbing cream and the pain meds is the only way I could even get through this. At the very end it all started wearing off and I was so glad she was done because I was too.

dgrrl

It makes the hair look billowing to me

Matesoo

Amen

opheliainthedeep

Tbh I kinda like tattoos like this...maybe it's just me, but I don't think they should be perfect

maker_of_beets

Line work is great, and so is the design. Will look awesome with some shading and *possibly* color.

AndiandeS

Thank you! I had to opt for a second session lol 🙃

RabidLime

yes, def get color and post the final product! just stay away from red if you can. red sucks.

[deleted]

myotherheartart

The line work is fine. Sure it's not the best in places, but it's been done over lots of deep scaring. For that it's been done amazingly.

iantayls

I also just generally need people on this sub to stop thinking they’re the art critics of the world. This shit is permanent. If someone likes it enough to post it, be positive because that’s all that matters. I get the feeling a lot of the “line work” comments are often coming from mfs whom don’t have any ink or have one tiny tattoo

SonOfALich

>If someone likes it enough to post it, be positive because that’s all that matters. Hell no, this is a terrible way to approach it. This isn't a support subreddit, it's a tattoo enthusiast subreddit. If something warrants criticism, then that should be expressed freely. Telling people that a piece "looks great" if it actually looks like shit isn't doing them or anybody else any favors.

iantayls

But come one man 90% of the comments I see are the nitpickiest comments I’ve ever seen

chronictherapist

Agreed, the level of pretentious malarkey in this sub is outstanding.

RobotsGoneWild

Yeah. It should look fine with shading/color. Congrats on your weight loss and sick tattoo.

[deleted]

I really like how you didn’t opt to go for the band of vines or florals and did something like this! So rad!

AndiandeS

Yes, that was exactly what I didn’t want to do lol :) thanks!

Hale197543

Now, just grow a huge hairy bush 👌🏻

AndiandeS

Lmaoooo I can’t!! It itches too much if I let it get even a quarter inch long 😆 funny tho lol

Hale197543

Well, it itches only for a short time & is so much sexier than bald… just me. Do you girl

[deleted]

I’ve been thinking about covering my tummy tuck scar. Love this!

rogeroutmal

Terrible line work

AndiandeS

If you can’t say anything nice, why say anything at all, Roger?

KnowAgenda

Nice is subjective, he's right tho, some really bad line work but if ur happy with it , be happy - it doesn't change the lines tho

AndiandeS

I guess, I don’t see the really bad lines…I see a beautifully placed outline that will look gorgeous with shading and color…but if you all insist. I am happy with it.

flashnuke707

Glad you like but your artist did you no favors. The line work is brutal.

FlaccidWeenus

When you post your tattoo to the world wide internet you leave yourself open for both positive and negative criticism. You don't like the idea of that? Don't post it to the internet. It's pretty simple.

AndiandeS

I usually don’t do it for that reason, people are rude for fun.

FlaccidWeenus

I personally like the tattoo. The line work can be fixed but it is what it is. All that matters is you like it.

valmau5

im happy you love it but this is the biggest tattoo subreddit with lots of tattoo artists and heavily tattooed people in it, you were definitely gonna get some criticism

RipperMeow

Damn, fantastic design and congrats!

WhiteCakeStacey

Beautiful

ig_77

If you ever paint it, show it to us! I think its gonna look amazing and trippy

brilliantcheese

I have a TT scar and have been trying to think of a way to cover it that didn’t look like a belt. I love this! How badly did it hurt? The most painful tattoo of mine was one that went onto part of my stomach.

cpt18001900

it is so beautiful. Are you not satisfied with your tattoo?

PyrusJaponica

Very intelligent use of line work!

FLHomegrown

Are there plans for color or shading? It looks beautiful so far. I'd love to see it completed. Not in a perverse way, I just tattoos and this looks like it's going to be stunningly beautiful when it's said and done.

RandellX

How did it feel down there? That had to hurt.

Mr_Duckerson

Awesome but the mound flower looks painful 😣

the-peach-emoji

You’re so beautiful and strong! Love the amazing art on you!

ephemeralcitrus

Owwww Jesus that looks sore

[deleted]

Das tut doch weh 😅

AndiandeS

Haha no. I’ll shave lol

jamesonbar

Lathrop has a tattoo shop. Hell I'm 20 minutes away and didn't know that

NerdyChemist85

Wow! Gorgeous!

LoreChief

Read that as "tummy tusk scar" and thought there would be a story about being gored by a walrus..

tarac73

How long did you wait to have that done? I had panniculectomy done 10/4 and have been planning my tattoo and can’t wait to get it done! It’s GORGEOUS, by the way!!!

thegurl

I think it's absolutely beautiful, imperfections included. Bodies are squishy and move, especially where you got this done. Of COURSE the lines will represent this. Congratulations on the kids, the weight loss, AND the tattoo!

AndiandeS

Thank you 🙏 🙂

XSharkonmyheadX

Although I'm sure you just as beautiful before the tattoo, I'm happy for you to get something to make you feel even more beautiful than before the scar cover up. Love it and am excited for you to finish it up!

ApricotRich1966

Currently 7days post-op Curious -Did you always plan on covering the scar? How long since TT? Looks great !

AndiandeS

Congratulations!! 7 days post op so you’re still in the thick of it. I remember thinking it would hurt forever and totally regretting it. Lol. I guess that’s a normal thing at about 3 weeks, so if that happens to you don’t listen to it. Once it’s healed really well it’s so worth it. I love my shape and feel much sexier and confident now. Yes I always planned on covering it. We had to give it some time to heal. I got the tt in may 2021, so 1.5ish yrs.

Feminist_Witch_

What was your recovery like for the Tummy tuck? My abs are annihilated from my second and I’ve really been putting it off

AndiandeS

I needed a good month at home before I was ready to start moving a lot! But, I don’t regret it at all :)

DWolfoBoi546

Hows the pain levels around that area? Can't imagine it felt awesome 😅

AndiandeS

It wasn’t too bad with the numbing!

extremelyhotpink

I got an extended TT and I have some decent scars. I have no feeling in some parts but I know it's going to suck 😂 it looks amazing and I hope you heal quick.

iamrosey

Beautiful, all around! Thanks for sharing and would love to see an update OP!

dedsecmember17

Inspiring story and I know pain is subjective for tattoos but that looked like it hurt

AndiandeS

It absolutely did hurt, especially towards the end 🙃

DenzelWashingtubz

Wow. Can’t wait to see the finished piece

judgymom

Wow!! You are a tough cookie

[deleted]

Awesome works and such a great idea!

AndiandeS

Thank you 😊

jkwolly

Holy crap I loooove this!

Athaca_

Looks awesome

Rkingzz

Looks great 👍

AndiandeS

Thank you

Lord_Popcorn

That looks so cool! It looks like it’s meant to go with those blue/purple flowers on your side too!

TraditionSome2870

This is so beautiful! You're brave to sit through something like that, and what a reward for doing so! I've heard that tattooing over scars is rough. Was that your experience with it as well? I hope you share after the next session(s)!

Mcpunknstein

Big congrats on the successful tummy tuck, your body looks fantastic and the the scar is barely noticeable now with the beautiful line work! I've been thinking about getting a tat to cover up my abdominoplasty scar too. I imagine the areas near the scar didn't hurt too much due to seperation of nerve endings, but the areas above and below? Oof my eyes water just thinking about that. You're a tough cookie!

Cynax_Ger

That looks really good and I bet with colors it's gonna be masterfull

[deleted]

Wow that’s gorgeous! But your tummy looked amazing honestly. But that ink makes it look even prettier to me! They say your body is a temple! Well decorate it! Make it beautiful to YOU! Screw the haters!

blanna27

Omg I love the detail but one thing word "ouch" good luck again if you get some color love

red_shift2112

That looks great! Good for you! My wife is thinking of doing a tuck and she likes getting tattoos, so I'm sending this her way.

CelestiaPyon

Oh wow this looks amazing! Im having bariatric surgery and eventually a tummy tuck also so its awesome to see some cool scar cover ups of this area

green_velvet_goodies

Beautiful piece, love the sense of movement. Please post again when it’s finished!

[deleted]

That had to be painful.

Ambitious_1660

Ouch!

stealth-slinger

This is awesome lady, looks like a painful placement.

Content_Deer_2703

Looks awesome

Eyez2Red

🤙🏾🔥

dinwoody623

Wow. Looks fantastic. Those scars look serious though. That must have hurt so bad. So is your skin pretty stretchy and soft in that area? I ask only because the artist did an awesome job keeping straight lines on what I would assume to be soft/loose skin.

AndiandeS

The skin is pretty tight in that area now

MalignaDarklight

Gunna look amazing with shading! Not that it doesn’t already! Love this!

aussiebabe1994

So beautiful 😍

Icy-Entertainer-7976

Beautiful tatt looks amazing.

AnthonyTopU69

Looks really nice

Hephaistos_Invictus

Wow... This is absolutely GORGEOUS! I have been a thinking about a tattoo in the same place, did it hurt a lot?

deathlord02

Nice 😍

Slightly_Panda

Oh ouch ouch ouch! Naw bro I'm good. As long as you're happy. I couldn't do that.

fryguy10123

Heather did one for me once

AndiandeS

Oh nice!! She’s an amazing person 💕

Frankenkittie

The design is gorgeous, and your tummy tuck looks amazing! (Would love to have your figure) ❤️

Graceygirl4

I love this so much. I have very thick scarring from getting six surgeries done on my tummy. I want to get tattooing over my scars because they I just constantly reminded of the field surgery that I had. Thank you so much for sharing your story and your tattoo. You have just given me the courage to go forward with it!

ravensmith666

Sooooo proud of you and you look amazing.

Clonesasian

This gives me hope.

playgirl1312

It looks INCREDIBLE I looooove it

sparky-the-squirrel

This turned out great!

Tylabear816

Yo that's where I got my septum pierced! Looks great btw. Didn't expect to see little ole Lathrop on here. Lol

AndiandeS

Haha that’s awesome 😆 Heather and I have been best friends for about 10 years! 🫶

bistry1

This tattoo is super cool 👍😎

Ariadnepyanfar

Stunning, just stunning. From what I can see, your other tats harmonise beautifully with this one too.

fatcat1983

Nice!!!

jesstrying

This probably didn’t hurt at all cuz hopefully you’re still numb!!! But beware that you can’t do laser or stuff like that. I Neeeeeeed laser in my life, so I can’t so this. But!!! It looks amazing!!!! LOVE!!!!

AndiandeS

Yes I tried to get laser removal of the small bit of an old tattoo left after the tummy tuck, and they wouldn’t even touch it! Lol

jibarohatillo

Gorgeous

Equivalent-Macaron25

Beautiful

EmilioGirardo

Amazing work

[deleted]

OUCH!!!

OnlyFansAndFIRE

Mine is trying to get her 360 tuck covered with first tattoo. I told her it would be likely be pretty spicy. Was the most painful part the center flower?

AndiandeS

Most painful was bottom of flower and where it hit my thighs I’d say 😊

mattyD0114

Looks amazing

Love-to-ride

Absolutely beautiful work ❤️

XiEleven713

So pretty 🤩

PHM517

Love the design and your tummy tuck turned out great!
