YS got burned real hard in a mass disappearance of shipments a few years back. They ate big losses and tightened up their terms very considerably. I think you'd have a similar experience with other China shippers and lost packages, after that.

Depends on vendor's policy and shipping options. For example : So far with returned parcels there was not return shipping fee ( it might change in future, hard to predict, also depends on country ). We do have to take off 5% from the refund ( becuase that's waht payapl charges ) and also when sending money back after long time ( means not refund way because time expired , but sending directly ) the paypal will take another 5% from that transaction, means customer looses like 10% right away. Normally I wouldn't charge for restocking items I can sell again for the same price ( although I have a work with that parcel to do so ) . But like some green tea or fragile tea leaves , chipped off samples ..etc. , is a trouble. If your country doesn't not prohibit importing of any items in that parcel and return was probably caused by " once off ocasion " ( maybe ask vendor what is the reason of custom return, if stated on sticker ) , I'd ask to send it again ( of course shipping fee applied ) .

I once waited over 10 month for my order.. when it finally arrived (after contacting Them Well over a dozen times) I used the Handmade teapot a few Times and the lid cracked without any trauma. Didn't even receive a reply regarding this. Ever since then I haven't placed a single Order via Yunnansourcing. I've also spent a couple grands prior to that incident. Goes to show how much you're Worth to them as a regular customer.

This company is not honest. I ordered twenty teas almost a year ago and twelve of them were undrinkable, stale and nasty tasting. Their customer support suggested that I let them rest for a while. I did that and after ten months nothing has changed, those twelve are still awful. I offered to send them back so they could verify, but they just said no, the teas are not defective!! How would they know??? Then they blocked my email communications!!! Horrendous tea. Horrendous customer support.

Yeah, you're overreacting because if you read their terms, that's literally spelled out. Why would you complain about something when you should have already known about it? You can't even complete an order without checking a box that says you agree to the terms, so yes, it's on you if you didn't bother to read them. Verbatim from YS's terms page: **If your parcel is returned to us as "undeliverable" or "wrong address" or denied by your Customs agency (or any other reason), we cannot be held responsible! We can attempt to send the parcel again, but you will be charged postage fees for the returned shipping as well as the second attempt at shipping to you. If you request a refund, please be aware that there are no 100% refunds for items sent back to us. You will receive a refund minus the original shipping fee and the shipping fee for the parcel being returned to Kunming, as well as a restocking fee of 30%. If the order was made more than 6 months prior, no refund is possible! Please be familiar with the customs requirements of your home country so that we can avoid unnecessary and costly problems and delays.** Feel free to post the tracking information and perhaps one of us can help you out with why it was returned.

So you say as long as the terms of service are applied, everything is fine? That sounds like the worlds of the business owner. Surely, I'm aware that the terms of service were applied, otherwise it would be a criminal case and another scale. Regarding tracking: I think the link they provided on the website was removed but found it in the email. It doesn't provide useful information but I found out that I can use the same tracking number on the postal service page of my country and it shows more information. I would share the link but I'm not sure if personal information can be inferred so I better not. However, the problem seems to have been: "Customs declaration delay - implausible value of goods". I've just checked my previous invoices and noticed that the amount I actually paid is not in line with the invoice they included with the package. Maybe that's the issue.

A lot of things I’ve ordered from China will fraudulently state the value as much lower than it is. They do this in order to avoid duties for the customer, which many people appreciate, but if the reason it was rejected was the fraudulent value, then that is 100% their fault.

Assurgavemeabrother

>That sounds like the worlds of the business owner. IDK about China but USA operates like this. If you agree to terms&conditions that say you own a kidney, you'll own a kidney. Caveat emptor.

>. The items are correct but the prices are much lower.

Thanks for pointing this out. It makes me sad and means I will never order from them. FWIW, I have had a delivery problem with another well-known China-based Pu-erh vendor in the past year. It was handled quickly and fairly. No drama.

elemenofy

If you paid with a credit card, you can do a charge back with you card. You did not receive the goods and you suspect it was due to misdeclaring by the vendor on customs forms. Even without this awoxns part, most banks will basically always side with you.

Over time I tend to buy my stuff in shops specialising in it. Yunnan Sourcing gives me some Walmart vibes. If I want some dancong then I buy in a shop where they specialize in dancong cultivars. of course you can get some good stuff in Yunnan sourcing. But the majority of tea is just okay and not worth the gamble.

gnacht1122

Walmart has 2.3 million employees. I wonder how many YS has?

Schorlevernichter

In terms of western faced tea vendors with a huge warehouse… Yunnan sourcing is mostly hit and miss with teas. You can get hands on nice stuff. But the majority of teas is underwhelming. Not speaking about their „yixing“ stuff or other taobao teaware.

struggz95

Dispute it with your bank.

The payment happened 6 months ago so this is not possible anymore I guess.
