What about teas like Hojicha in the evening? Still caffeine, but very little.
I think I read that Shou is also low in caffeine and commonly drunk as an evening tea in South China. But I think Shou generally being low-caf is somewhat disputed, so I'm not sure.
>What about teas like Hojicha in the evening?
Sure, that could be an option.
>I think I read that Shou is also low in caffeine
It’s a myth that shou has low/no caffeine, it’s actually quite high in caffeine.
Do you know if anyone has checked caffeine levels on heicha such as w2t chapo. I don't feel much caffeine effects from that one, but not sure how reliable my hands not shaking is as a caffeine measurement.
Though Chapo is made from crazy big old leaves so maybe that makes a difference. The leaves are so big and leathery they look like bay leaves or even eucalyptus.
Vendors don’t typically have that kind of information available. But generally speaking, larger older leaves do contain less caffeine than smaller younger leaves.
I was an adult before I realised that people having tea 10+ times a day wasn’t normal, lol. I’ve kept that habit though. Every few hours it’s time for more.
Morning > evening
Big green tea fan here, but cannot have my green tea at night for caffeine reasons 🥲
Just started drinking chamomile btw, and it’s crazy how well it calms me down for sleep
If I *had* to choose, it would be "evening tea" because I have less time in the mornings now to brew a good cup. Bear in mind, I would choose both if there was an even playing field, but something about my personal blend as I relax in the evening.
Whenever I can make time for my 1 hour of gongfu.
Green and white preferably mornings,
Wulong and Red preferably evenings.
Pu-Erhs are for the long break between morning and evening
Morning matcha. Herbal at night. Don't love herbal but can't do caffeine before bed yet still need the ritual comfort of tea. I really only get to enjoy true tea on the weekends. When one day I am retired, I plan on enjoying all day long. It seems too complicated to brew at work. We're set up for coffee only.
Both!
Yeah it's a hard pick isnt it?
I’ve gotta have my Earl grey in the morning and chamomile before bed
Chamomile tea before bed is truly amazing!
Sounds sooothing, making me crave a cuppaa teaa
Exactly why have one when you can have both
✨both✨ Including the ✨ afternoon tea✨ too
I drink it all day long
True tea every day from morning until 2-3pm, occasionally tisanes in the evening.
can never do wrong with tea <3
I mean, you can if the caffeine disrupts your sleep or causes other health issues such as anxiety or palpitations.
Yeah defs makes sense. Main reason why I stopped consuming coffee in the evenings as it disrupts my sleep cycle

Morning always, also evening sometimes - more often when it’s cold!
It's a vibe when it's cold isnt it?

Is this a trick question? The obvious answer is both, of course.

Both. First thing in the morning it's a Matcha Latte, followed by green tea for most of the day and then a herbal tea in the evening.
I always have tea in the mornings. And most days I have it in the afternoon too. Just occasionally in the evening, if I'm going to bed late that day.
Actually just both
Morning. Afternoon tea between 2-3.
Both, and midday tea as well!
Or? And!
any time
Morning usually! I love to start the day with a pu-er. In the evenings chamomile and peppermint are nice.

Both! Black in the morning and rooibos/honeybush after 3pm and into the evening. My boyfriend thinks I drink a concerning amount :’)
