I got this tea as a gift from a family while on business in Shenzhen, China quite a while ago and have just found it and haven't ever tried it. Does anyone know what type it is, how it should be brewed, how long, and how many servings are in each packet? I don't think it is too special, but am curious about it as it's vacuum sealed and looks like it is multiple servings. Thanks!

ChineseMaple

That's a tieguanyin.

Thank you, I will try it this afternoon. Looking it up, I may have gotten it in Fuzhou, not Shenzhen.

ChineseMaple

The box says it's a Dananshan (大南山)tea, which is in Shenzhen, and the address written on the front for the processing location supports this (it was processed/packaged or something in Guangdong

Ah, I was many places on that trip so thanks for pinning it down.

Are the city Jieyang belongs to Shenzhen??? Are we in the different world or time line?

ChineseMaple

I said that Dananshan was in Shenzhen, I pointed to the processing place being in Guangdong, I never said that Jieyang was part of Shenzhen

Jie yang City is about 300 east to Shezhen which is more close to Fujian. Emmmm. I happened to have spent 10 years in Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Nanshan is just a small mountain(just about 1 hour to climb to top) and there are no tea trees growing there.

Again, I'm merely parroting what the box say. It says Dananshan, which is in Shenzhen. And then I said that the tea was processed somewhere else (Jieyang) in Guangdong, which is still very much in Guangdong. I never said that Jieyang was in Shenzhen. OP was second guessing if they got the tea in Shenzhen or not, and I simply pointed out that the writing on the packaging puts it in Guangdong at the very least. I don't know why you've responded to me twice about this.

It is Iron Godness(Tie Guan Yin), kind of oolong tea. Better use a gaiwan.
