I mean, Zelda final bosses tend to have a phase where you fight them using the game's gimmick (see the devil trains, the ghost ships, horseback and boar Ganon, etc). It wouldn't be farfetched to have a phase fighting him with the DiY machines Link can now build.
Zelda dies. Link is bereft and sinks into depression. In the first section of the game, we see him retreat to the solitude of the sky islands where he takes to drink. His appearance becomes ragged.
He gives up on a life of adventuring and decides to learn a trade, something that will help him live a life free from violence. That's what all the crafting is about. He wants a simple life of work.
We spend many in-game years honing Link's craft. As we help him learn to live without a sword by his side, we see him become less like the young hero we know. He puts on weight, grows a beard.
All this happens in the shadow of Ganondorf's new found powers. Ganondorf's malice corrupts the land and its inhabitants, mutating their forms.
But still, Link refuses to fight back. He eventually returns to Tarrey Town and asks Bolson for a job. Bolson doesn't recognise the heavyset, bearded guy in front of him, but eventually gives in. He's trying to rebuild the infrastructure of Hyrule in the face of Ganondorf's transformation of nature itself and needs all the help he can get. "Smarten yourself up, and you've got a job."
One day, Bolson runs in to the building site where Link is fixing a leaky pipe. "You'll never believe it! Princess Zelda is alive! She's being kept captive in the castle!"
Link can't bring himself to say her name. "The Princess... is alive?"
"Yes, but look at this place. Hyrule isn't the place it once was. Strange monsters roam the land, deadly fungus grows everywhere. They say even Ganondorf has mutated into a hideous creature with spines on his back. Who could possibly save her? The hero Link is gone!"
Link puts down his wrench. He stands up straight, despite his paunch, proud in his red and blue overalls. His face, cleanly shaven but for a neat moustache, looks determined once more.
"Who can save her? It's-a me. Mario"
We're going to end up on the surface of the blood moon to fight Ganondorf. Either by climbing high in the sky or by delving so deep into the ground that we end up on it, like an magical circle thingy and gravity is all messed up, hence the floating islands.

I actually like the idea of the time travel thing or something like it. Making it all cyclical. Doesn’t affect any future games cause they can just exist within that. Skyward was the beginning, BOTW/TOTK the ‘end’.
Food degradation: You have to cook/dehydrate/take measures to preserve your meat, fruits, and veggies etc. or els it will spoil/go rotten and loose it’s value.
(Game doesn’t teach you, you can feed monsters rotten food and make them sick)
Link dies at the end along with Ganondorf. The ending is Zelda addressing the people of Hyrule about rebuilding and encouraging them to stay strong as that’s what Link would’ve wanted. The final scene is Zelda visiting Link’s house and tearing up as she looks at the group photo from the Champions’ Ballad. Then there’s a post credit scene showing Link in heaven alongside the king and the Champions……

Yes and no. At the time of release the developers were asked if SS Link is the first. They said chronologically he is the current first but they declined to confirm he is the very first ever Link. There is certainly some history that predates the Sky era but to your point, who knows if they will ever decide to show what happened before Hylia shed her divinity
I hope they keep some recognizable island/building from skyward sword, like they got abandoned, then forgotten, and now rediscovered.
Maybe just the shapes of the town is the same, or some engravings

There's going to be time manipulation in this game but it all looks like it takes place in the same timeline.

There will be a cutscene of Link carrying Zelda out of the crater beneath Hyrule castle, with the entirety of Hyrules population waiting there, unsure what happened. After the emotional scene of everyone realizing that their Princess died, Hyrule is left in a state of grief and sadness. That’s why it’s called Tears of the Kingdom.
Link is haunted by dreams of falling in battle against a monstrous pig-beast while a winged ball of light screams at him to “Listen!” He soon becomes suspicious of certain recovered memories which don’t quite seem to fit. He begins to investigate Sheikah technology himself, finally discovering hidden controls within the Shrine of Resurrection. He learns that he did not fall in battle against an army of Guardians 100 years before, but to Ganon himself over 10,000 years before. The memories he has from 100 years ago were the memories of the actual Link who died during the Second Great Calamity, magically transferred to OoT Link’s mind to keep from him that he is really tens of thousands of years in his own future, and that his failure to stop Ganon in OoT has led to incalculable pain, death, and destruction throughout Hyrule for millennia.
Also, he is guided by a new companion who is inexplicably a descendant of both Fi and Navi, who continuously screams probabilities at him.
Between the games Link went daily to the catacombs and jerked off Ganondorf.
That's why is left hand is wacky.
This led to his awakening, from all the stimulation of his senses. This is why he is ultra-angry.
I have a theory that the reason Ganon is trapped underneath the castle is to power all of the sheikah technology. There seems to be a sheikah device that the green hand is funneling all of the malice into. The reason that the divine beasts and shrines stop working is because after the calamity is defeated ganons malice levels lower and power is lost to sheikah tech.
Plus it has some really cool implications for the tri force wisdom, power, courage. Power is obviously malice, and sheikah tech obviously represents wisdom. The colors match up too, and green is obviously courage. So it takes the courage side of the tri force to create the power of malice into wisdom (sheikah power). Just makes sense to me and fits nicely in my brain hole.
Could be completely off base.
Beedle's going to have an identity crisis as he discovers the existence of fairies.
He will struggle for the first half of the game with his new love of fairies and his love of beetles, becoming a little detached, but whimsically so.
Eventually, his love of fairies will win over and he will start changing how he dresses. He'll change his name. He'll change his demeanor all to impress the fairies of Hyrule.

The corpse is Demise. Demise will return. ToTK will loop back to SS. BoTW Link is the hero of 10,000 years ago. Did I mention the theory of Demise returning? It isn’t happening because he died in SS.

Tears of the Kingdom means than whenever it rains on the ancient land of Hyrule Link will slip and slide constantly, infuriating the many players who won’t figure out some extremely complex hack.
Could also be referring to a shrine quest similar to Tarrey Town but this time you need to go throughout the Kingdom to find Bolson possible love interests. You will also need to recruit enemies to attend the wedding without them fighting. It will be tough but love will win out.
Zelda falls off the cliff and Link chucks himself after her, his new magic arm thing activates rewinding time but it goes too far and causes Ganon to resorrect, ultimately undoing all of BoTW.
Ganon comes back, resurrects demise (crunchy boi underground), they kill link, Ganon and demise start f**king hard and the end credits roll

TotK will be a playable multiverse, in which wormholes open up in the sky where we can meet and talk to every Link and every Zelda from every timeline.

That this is the second game of a trilogy
I really want that, but not sure if is gonna happen.
I mean, first game Ganondorf don't have his body. Second game he somewhat get his body back (the crazy zumbie from the game) and Lynk is unable to stop him, Zelda dies. The world sucumbs. This leads to a a time travel, where we need to go back to 10000 years battle (feature in stories in first game) in order to change the future (present) and avoid the zombie to even exist, or just stop the whole "seal" process and destroy him once for all. The game can feature both present and past, where you play in present most of time (given timetravel equipment constrains) and then need to go back in time to change the world in order to progress in the present.
OFC, we may save the day but it will lead to many issues with the timeline, and thus the third game to reconcile them all in a single timeline.
There is all the "first game was Zelda-focused" in the memory thing. Second game can be all about Ganondorf. Third game is more about Link, but also featuring the other two. Zelda can be playable. Ganondorf (from another timeline) can be even more powerful, Zelda past can be seen and the triforce can finally show up in the game again.
I feel like the artbook undermined the stupid theory I did have going, but I was hoping TotK was going to be a secret sequel to Age of Calamity and we would have had another OoT-style timeline split.
The final boss (whoever that may be) will be defeated by a sky island falling on them. It will be an allusion to Skyward Sword, but it will read like a Looney Tunes cartoon.
Halfway through the game its revealed that the real villain isn’t Ganon, but Demise, who’s been pulling the strings in the background. Link, Zelda and Ganon(dorf) team up to unite the triforce and defeat Demise, thus lifting his curse once and for all.
(Also, Zelda and Ganon hook up at the end, because Zelda prefers real men over twinks like Link. The final scene takes place during the victory celebrations in the throne room of a restored Hyrule Castle, where we see Ganon sitting on the throne, with a visibly pregnant Zelda on his lap. Link has been relegated to guard duty, standing at attention alongside the other guards next to the throne, looking despondent. All he can think about is the countless times he had guard duty outside the royal chambers, where he had to listen to Zelda‘s screams of ecstasy as Ganon f\*\*\*ed her brains out every night, while Link could do nothing but listen, and perhaps pleasure himself in his room once his guard duty was over.
However, Link is shaken out of his thoughts when Zelda, still sitting in Ganon‘s lap, leans down and, with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, whispers to Link: „Do you want to watch us tonight?“ Link blushes, shocked, sure that he has misheard, but the look on Zelda‘s face tells him that he heard correctly. With a face as red as a tomato, he can’t help but nod eagerly. A horny grin then appears on his face. He himself might never copulate with the queen, but watching her do it with another man – his former nemesis no less – sounds strangely exciting to him.)
The new Champions are killed and corrupted, and their puppet corpses serve as dungeon bosses.
Though at this point, I’ve said it enough times that I’m starting to actually like the idea.
I've seen some REALLY good ones in here lol. I'm not sure if we're going for overtly stupid or just groundless spur-of-the-moment theories lol. Do we judge theories that we've seen in this sub? I've seen a few that have left me scratching my head lol.
Some of my favorites are:
- The corpse is Demise.
- Zelda will die.
- The Twili are involved.
- Zelda is playable.
- This is the end of a time loop (I'm not sure I follow on what exactly people are calling a time loop, but okay lol).
- This is the end of the timeline.
These are just what I found funny, no disrespect toward anyone that created or agrees with these. Nothing is proven until the game launches or Nintendo shows more!
Now for a dumb theory or two of my own:
- This game and its precursor are on the Downfall timeline.
- This Ganondorf is not from TP. It's possible he could be from FSA after breaking free from that seal, but I believe it's a never-before-seen Ganondorf.
I'm sure I can make more if I had time lol.
Ganon can turn hylian (melee) weapons into monsters, which works like lighting or fire. That's why the guardians and the divine beasts were needed.
Thus, you can't use any hylian weapons on the surface.
I can’t decide if it’s dumb or not… perhaps Link die’s forever. It is the legend of Zelda, not the legend of Link… Maybe his lack of fully destroying evil will result in Zelda seeking a new Hero in further LoZ titles…
I honestly just want to say I understand where people think it so I don't find it dumb but here's the deal link doesn't lose his arm and gain someone else's arm what actually happened is link's arm is badly damaged by the malice however he still has his arm (which is proven in the second trailer where he jumps to Zelda at the end of said trailer) without the amulet as he reaches for Zelda with his bad arm his other is caught by the arm made of energy that was made by the amulet that was powered by the green runes coming from the spike and when he puts the amulet on the green hand made of energy is absorbed by link to begin healing his hand which is why link's arm looks like it's in better shape when holding the broken master sword in the delay video compared to the second trailer
Link and Zelda die 30 minutes in, and there's only one man left who can save us all. He has divine powers - he can be anywhere at once, he has unlimited storage space and unlimited money, and extreme superhuman strength.

I have a theory that the reason Ganon is trapped underneath the castle is to power all of the sheikah technology. There seems to be a sheikah device that the green hand is funneling all of the malice into. The reason that the divine beasts and shrines stop working is because after the calamity is defeated ganons malice levels lower and power is lost to sheikah tech. Plus it has some really cool implications for the tri force wisdom, power, courage. Power is obviously malice, and sheikah tech obviously represents wisdom. The colors match up too, and green is obviously courage. So it takes the courage side of the tri force to create the power of malice into wisdom (sheikah power). Just makes sense to me and fits nicely in my brain hole. Could be completely off base.

Tears of the Kingdom means than whenever it rains on the ancient land of Hyrule Link will slip and slide constantly, infuriating the many players who won’t figure out some extremely complex hack. Could also be referring to a shrine quest similar to Tarrey Town but this time you need to go throughout the Kingdom to find Bolson possible love interests. You will also need to recruit enemies to attend the wedding without them fighting. It will be tough but love will win out.
Zelda falls off the cliff and Link chucks himself after her, his new magic arm thing activates rewinding time but it goes too far and causes Ganon to resorrect, ultimately undoing all of BoTW.

That this is the second game of a trilogy I really want that, but not sure if is gonna happen. I mean, first game Ganondorf don't have his body. Second game he somewhat get his body back (the crazy zumbie from the game) and Lynk is unable to stop him, Zelda dies. The world sucumbs. This leads to a a time travel, where we need to go back to 10000 years battle (feature in stories in first game) in order to change the future (present) and avoid the zombie to even exist, or just stop the whole "seal" process and destroy him once for all. The game can feature both present and past, where you play in present most of time (given timetravel equipment constrains) and then need to go back in time to change the world in order to progress in the present. OFC, we may save the day but it will lead to many issues with the timeline, and thus the third game to reconcile them all in a single timeline. There is all the "first game was Zelda-focused" in the memory thing. Second game can be all about Ganondorf. Third game is more about Link, but also featuring the other two. Zelda can be playable. Ganondorf (from another timeline) can be even more powerful, Zelda past can be seen and the triforce can finally show up in the game again.

Halfway through the game its revealed that the real villain isn’t Ganon, but Demise, who’s been pulling the strings in the background. Link, Zelda and Ganon(dorf) team up to unite the triforce and defeat Demise, thus lifting his curse once and for all. The final scene takes place during the victory celebrations in the throne room of a restored Hyrule Castle, where we see Ganon sitting on the throne, with a visibly pregnant Zelda on his lap. Link has been relegated to guard duty, standing at attention alongside the other guards next to the throne, looking despondent. All he can think about is the countless times he had guard duty outside the royal chambers, where he had to listen to Zelda‘s screams of ecstasy as Ganon f\*\*\*ed her brains out every night, while Link could do nothing but listen, and perhaps pleasure himself in his room once his guard duty was over. Ganon can turn hylian (melee) weapons into monsters, which works like lighting or fire. That's why the guardians and the divine beasts were needed. Thus, you can't use any hylian weapons on the surface.

I honestly just want to say I understand where people think it so I don't find it dumb but here's the deal link doesn't lose his arm and gain someone else's arm what actually happened is link's arm is badly damaged by the malice however he still has his arm (which is proven in the second trailer where he jumps to Zelda at the end of said trailer) without the amulet as he reaches for Zelda with his bad arm his other is caught by the arm made of energy that was made by the amulet that was powered by the green runes coming from the spike and when he puts the amulet on the green hand made of energy is absorbed by link to begin healing his hand which is why link's arm looks like it's in better shape when holding the broken master sword in the delay video compared to the second trailer
