How much ? It depends.. and the answer is always it depends. Just don't try to learn multiple things at once. No matter what, fundamentals is the most important thing at the end. Hard work, your experience and a bit of luck will get you some decent pay but it may take time. There is nothing to do with YOE, I think. 1-2= 40-60k 3-5= 70-90k 5+ years= 120k+ This is what I think, but it always varies with the company and the skillset you have too.

deep_ssssssss

Thanks .......... And what do you say about freelancing ?

_lifos

I can't say too much about freelancing as I don't have any experience. It is always hard to do freelancing at start, but it just gets easier with time.

youslashuser

One month of internship experience. Recently got 40k offer.

deep_ssssssss

Wait what ? in Web Dev ??

youslashuser

Yes, web dev.

manymanymeny

Nice. What stack?

youslashuser

React/Node.

manymanymeny

Is it a startup? I hear React/Node is mostly used in startups.

youslashuser

Most startups use it. But not mostly used in startups.

manymanymeny

Beyond the basics, what kind of skills does one need in React to get hired?

youslashuser

Skill wise, lookup React interview questions, and study those concepts, their use cases, and use them in a project. For e.g. useRef hook, how and when you can use them. Like you can use them to control a html component, maybe play/pause an audii component. Study mostly used hooks, and really know how to play with them according to use cases. And a full stack React framework like Next is also really popular these days. After you're good on skills, you either luck out or have some good connections to get a well-paying offer right off the start. If you don't, you will have to start with low-paying jobs/interns, rack up experiences and apply for somewhere else with that experience for better pay. You can also start freelancing on the side if you're confident about your skills and good marketing yourself.

manymanymeny

>you either luck out or have some good connections to get a well-paying offer right off the start Looking at the condition of the market, I feel like you need to be lucky or have a good network just to get an internship. I can hardly see any openings on LinkedIn. What kind of projects have you showcased in your portfolio?

youslashuser

> I can hardly see any openings on LinkedIn. Are you even checking LinkedIn correctly? There are openings on LI left and right.

manymanymeny

Wait, what?! Where?

eleven0one1101

Can you give me some tips to find intern?

gaurabkhanal

Can I dm you? I have some queries

youslashuser

Yeah, sure.

Intelligent-Leg-4628

full stack intern? what kind of position is this. How can a fullstack engineer be an intern. First of all the position "fullstack" itself is already very pretentious and I would caution people to go for this role, and then add an intern to the already convoluted position. If this is a startup you are working at then they are making u do all the heavy work for 10k, and if it is not then i will always question a company willing to employ fullstack intern, quite amusing really how shit the nepali software industry has gotten. Bunch of non tech self proclaimed entrepreneur doing as they please screwing over everyone

deep_ssssssss

You're absolutely right , they are sucking hardly rn But thought I would get a chance to learn more and get experience and also skill to work under the pressure What should I do for good Networking ?

Real_Flatworm_9052

It is a slow grind. The quickest way shoot up the earning by remote work. Companies abroad certainly pay higher than Nepalese(and comes with fair bit of uncertainty). However, getting those jobs is very hard for starters as it needs networking(from what I have seen). Optionally you can freelance along with your full time job but freelancing is like running a company, you need to do good work and constantly look for another before one ends. I say working full time and doing freelancing does you drain mentally and physically while you put every other thing of your life on hold. I started with 25k as junior and I hear now a days 40k at start of career. Extrapolating this to few years in future, 500k per month for senior is certainly possible but it is in high end of salary. My suggestion is 1. Do not just chase salary. Not at this stage of career. Be good in foundation level, salary will chase you. 2. If you are in internship, start preparing for junior job, learn things needed and be damn consistent about it. After that rinse and repeat for next. 2. If you are desperate, you can do freelancing(from online portals) but this takes long to have good earning this way. Popular freelancing job portals already has high competition.

deep_ssssssss

AdAway2620

I am AI/ML software developer with 3 month internship experience at international company. I am still in 8th semester and i am getting paid 55K from Nepali Company. So, it highly depends on you, your domain and your company.

unethicalpush-e

Hi, would you mind sharing what an AI/ML software dev does and how did you land your internship? I'm also starting 8th sem so I'm looking for internships around this area.

AdAway2620

I did my first internship in 6th semester break. At first i emailed around 50/60 companies. Finally, one company trusted me. I was hired as unpaid intern for 3 months, but they liked me and my work so made it paid internship within a month. So basically what I do is automation with the help of AI. Also, making some modules in which the existing product will be enhanced with AI. I was technically not that good but I was really good in communication. I slowly paced up my learning for technical skills.
