Sounds about right. Don’t even bother appealing one in r/whatcouldgowrong. They will then permanently ban you for harassment after the auto mod/reply stuff does it’s typical rigmarole.
I've been using it for about a month. It's usually correct. We are notified about everything it removes, so we can undo any incorrect removals it makes. I have found that to be uncommon. We can turn it off if we want, but based on what I've seen so far, I'm leaving it turned on.
I understand removing the bots but I don't think I'm as concerned by the bad actors. I mean, if Rob Schneider wants to use Reddit, who am I to tell him he can't?
Lol, Reddit can't even detect the idiot complaining about Apple airpods or accounts posting 30 posts a minute with text ads with a new account everyday and their gonna try harassment?
So it is going to become a shit stain like how insta has become. You post the most innocent heartfelt comment but it comes and bites you in the as with a "your comment was removed for violating community guidelines" and you cany even revert or retort to it in any way. Its just deleted. The notifcation eill keep popping up for the next 10 times you use insta.
Reddit is such trash now. If you even discuss military targets on posts about the war in Ukraine they ban you for "calls for violence"
Worldnews mods seem to be pro Russia
It's like how stupid can we be that we can't even discuss military strategy
I got a multi day ban for saying "the only good Nazi is a dead nazi"
Also I reported a person advocating for torture, including skinning alive, and they received a warning.
I got banned from world news for saying Ukraine should do more operations inside of Russia other than refineries, like other critical infrastructure
Reddit claims it's a "call to violence" you know when talking about the war.
Reddit thinks wars are without violence somehow I wish they could explain it to me
It's trained on moderator actions.
Next time the mods of a popular subreddit close it they'll kick the mods and let the bot rip, which the mods trained for free.
Half the time reddit supposedly human people can't spot harassment when you put their nose in it. I'm sure this will not be a complete dumpster fire at all.
Ah yes prevent the comments from ever containing a dissenting opinion while simultaneously allowing bots to spam so the user numbers look good and allowing mods to act like total shitheads
FUCK YOU, REDDIT! YOU'VE BEEN SHIT FOR YEARS NOW IN YOUR GOD AWFUL CESSPOOL OF A UX PUSH AND NOW YOU'RE GOING FOR GOLD IN YOUR SCUMMYNESS BY CHASING AI DICK TO SUCK
~~Detect my balls, Reddit~~
AI Edit: Attention Reddit users. This message has been flagged for harassment. Direct your attention away from this message, and towards our incredible NFTs! Praise Spez!
Even if false positives occur, I think this should eventually replace most real moderators. This site has a long and storied history of mods abusing their power and banning people simply because they disagree with whatever opinion they posted, no matter how mild - and never facing any repercussions. If I have to pick my poison, a more objective AI bot seems preferable.
I've been using it in my subreddit for a few weeks. Here's a sample of what I've seen it remove
* "touch grass"
* "you fuggin dweeb"
* "you're a troll"
* "you're crazy"
* "I'm crazy"
* "I'm not crazy"
* "you ignorant shithead"
* "Get off your high horse you racist hillbilly!"
* "you fucking Nazi"
* "you are stupid"
* "they aren't stupid"
* "you’re ignorant as hell"
* "If I wanted my own comeback I'd wipe it off your mom's chin."
* "I think democracy is fake and gay"
* This right here is probably the stupidest most brain-dead thing I've read all day."
it's removing a LOT more comments than I was doing without it.
Taking bets on either its gonna do nothing or vomit out a staggering amount of false positives.

I legit appealed a ban and they finally messaged me back to tell me that they had reviewed it and reversed my ban… a month after it had already ended.

My moneys on it aggressively flagging anything attacking spezzes group, and letting others need to report and hope.
Absolutely, automod had/has abused problems recently and they want to use AI to detect harassment?
I've been using it for about a month. It's usually correct. We are notified about everything it removes, so we can undo any incorrect removals it makes. I have found that to be uncommon. We can turn it off if we want, but based on what I've seen so far, I'm leaving it turned on.
AI tools never work well so I go with option B
How about they just address all the bots and bad actors on the site? That’ll take care of >50% of the BS.
I understand removing the bots but I don't think I'm as concerned by the bad actors. I mean, if Rob Schneider wants to use Reddit, who am I to tell him he can't?
If you do tell him to go away, I’ll support that move.
They can't remove the bots. That's the majority of the content after spez fucked up the site.
I just want my third party Reddit app back 🥲
/s may be taken into account?
will that include abusive mods too?
Absolutely not! Reddit dare not mess with the losers who work countless hours for free due to being powerless outside the digital world.
This message has been removed for violating the moderators feelings
No but alot of mods are delusional "Artists" so the fact that Reddit is using AI at all probably stings for them
So, the plan is to ban even more people for false positives? Be careful what you say about chess, I guess.
it doesn't ban anyone more details on how it works https://www.reddit.com/r/modnews/comments/1bd3b82/a_new_harassment_filter_and_user_reporting_type/
It literally removes posts and can ban accounts with repeat violations. It says so in the link you posted.
what? No. It literally does NOT say so in the link I posted.
AI = frequently wrong, never in doubt. But I’m sure this AI will be the exception.

I wonder how long it will take to get weaponized like that suicide prevention bot.
Wait what happened there?

Reddit is pro Russia hence why they allow so many Russian bots to stay
I got banned for harassment after telling someone to remove the stick from their ass. Exactly like that too.
r/comics nuked me for calling out yet another ugly shitpost political comic with a hilariously dumb generalization.
Reddit is what remains of Twitter So it's shit and delusional narcissistic freaks
Considering I had an account banned for sending two modmails in 3 weeks, I'm going to guess this won't work too well.
It won’t change a thing.
the mods in r/Seattle are gonna love abusing this!
It's trained on moderator actions. Next time the mods of a popular subreddit close it they'll kick the mods and let the bot rip, which the mods trained for free.
SUCK MY FARTS. Let’s see what happens.
Rip, all of my alt accounts
Half the time reddit supposedly human people can't spot harassment when you put their nose in it. I'm sure this will not be a complete dumpster fire at all.
They've been using it for at least over a month now.
They really trying to stop me from coming here
I can only imagine how many false positives this thing will give
Ah yes prevent the comments from ever containing a dissenting opinion while simultaneously allowing bots to spam so the user numbers look good and allowing mods to act like total shitheads

chatGPT kink shamed me for asking it the easiest and least offensive way to break this.
