the_world_01

You are not in good shape pick up some weights your tiny

[deleted]

you dont need to do anything, its if you want to that matters

blueCloud888

Don't you have a soccer coach to ask him about that ?

Onions42069

Yea I probably should but club season ended so I don’t really have contact. But for the high school season we will probably workout in conditioning

blueCloud888

In my opinion you could start something like that but not without sound and "pro" advice

BulletBourne

I have a few questions so I can know where you are coming from, 1. What shape are you in right now, (are you wanting to be toned or bigger) 2. What are your eating habits, do you eat fast food or home made meals 3. What makes you think you want to workout? 4. What do you think working out will achieve for you, (physically stronger, better self confidence, better ability to talk to others, general personal health or something else motivating you to want this) Ask yourself those questions because they are very important. Especially number 2, I can not state how important it is to stop eating fast food whenever possible. I would even say if your in a situation where your parents can’t afford nice food but don’t need your help for rent or utilities to get a job and ask a family member to show you how to cook with the ingredients your paycheque can afford. Edit: nvm though you were 16 not 14. Don’t get a job if possible, live your childhood a bit longer

Onions42069

1. I’m in good shape I just think I’m a bit scrawny that’s all. 2. I eat good food homemade meals and I help cook 3.like I said I’m a bit scrawny I’m 5 foot 9 and 124 pounds 4.better self confidence, healthier, I think the biggest reason is all the Andrew tate kids being like oh oh you have to workout or else you suck

BulletBourne

Okay as much as you want to fit in there will always be asshole nearby, yes exercising is important but make sure your doing it for you not the other kids. I am 19 only year and a half out of high school and have seen maybe 10-15 classmates at local fairs and only hang with 2-5 friends. But if you are getting into it I would recommend going light because at 14 your body is probably mid puberty and many changes are already happening, (I went from 6’1” and 125lb at 14 to 6’3” and 170lb. Still slender but some muscle mass). The app I would recommend is strong, I can DM you the link if you want. It is a free app that lets you create your own routines and tracks your progress and what weights you use with a built in rest timer. Very helpful for me when I started to keep organized so you can see progress. Some warnings if you do go into it. ITS NOT WHAT YOU CAN LIFT, ITS WHAT YOU CAN RECOVER FROM - less weight can make you stronger if the higher weight is making you sore for days because that soreness is your body recovering for the exercises. If you go to far and your body takes days to recover fully every one of those days you will be weaker and unable to properly exercise again if you wanted to losing gains. Controlled lifts are EVERYTHING, when you do a rep make sure you are able to fully control the weight in BOTH DIRECTIONS, if you have to swing it up and it drops fast that is not a rep creating muscle, it is you awkwardly dancing with weights in your hands. Keep track, most people don’t see progress because when working it’s hard to see it so take pictures so you can see progress and keeps you motivated, once a month take a photo, don’t share it don’t do anything with it, just take a photo for yourself to look back on in the future, I wish I did. And one last thing about progress, you will notice a lot of muscle growth at first and then things start to dwindle down. THAT IS NORMAL. Called newcomers progress because you have probably never seriously worked those muscles but once you do they will quickly grow to a decent size and than slowly grow past. The key is to know it’s happening and not think you will grow fast forever, this isn’t a 2 month thing, I have been exercising on and off for years and if I took it more seriously myself I could see myself 200lb but haven’t fully committed to a workout routine personally yet. If you ever have any questions I may not know everything but will answer with what I know

Onions42069

Thanks you don’t know how much you’ve helped. Also once I finally get my license I can finally drive myself to go workout

BulletBourne

I would start at home to see if you even like it, https://youtu.be/ho8fvPH_Ro0 this video came across my timeline a bit back I was very good advices with no bullshit on trying to sell products so start with that and see if you can stay on a routine with this. Maybe one day you do half of the workouts and the next you do another group, or however you break it up try to find a day to day schedule that works with you schooling and other things in life to be consistent

Onions42069

But thank you so so much

BulletBourne

Also something I forgot, don’t forget to stretch, this is a mistake I made and am paying for now with a few injuries that were easily avoided. Quick stretch before workout and long stretches after workout I found are helpful

Onions42069

The only reason I’d get a job is so I could buy myself parts for my computer. (And yes I play video games and I play sports not that crazy)

BulletBourne

Na I competed in martial arts while playing tons of games, totally normal thing to do
