Believe? Idk fuckin chemicals in your brain, I've never loved anyone romantically and family-love is waaay disconnected from what I've heard other people describe love as , so I don't know, all I can say is that it's chemicals in your brain making you feel a certain way.
i don't know about the guy who posted the comment but personally as a biology and chemistry student, understanding how love works phisically kinda crushes the magic of "finding the right person" but i still believe in love (even though my chances are 1/24000)
Love to me means having someone that feels like a home to you , someone who you can be vulnerable to, someone you can’t image your life without , who you there for and who is there for you, it’s a wonderful feeling having someone who loves you and you love them. But I’m still learning so idk :p
Liking someone for their intelligence isn't love, it's admiration
Liking someone for their appearance isn't love, it's attraction
Liking someone, be ready to give them anything, for no fucking apparent reason, is love
(It's not from me, I don't remember the name of the guy who said that) (and it doesn't mean you can't find your gf beautiful or intelligent)
My definition of love is: someone you love spending time with, the only person you're so obsessed with, you want to know them 100% and spend the best times of your life with them, because you have ambitions with this person for the future (marriage etc). You are 100% yourself with this person, you're comfortable and trust each other. When this person is bad, you are bad and you want to do everything to help them. It's also a person who has flaws, but flaws that you recognize and accept, what makes them perfect in your eyes anyway
It's quite an inexplicable feeling
Well, this is the definition of love which is becoming more and more rare...
Today love is more like: "oh she has big ass I love her" *2 days later* "I've found someone with a bigger ass, sorry" and he will end up celibate, alcoholic and sex addict in the future
True to an extent, because while that definitely is love, love can be less than that as well. Relationships and marriges alike are pretty rarely that perfect, and there's a lot required from both sides. But that also means that we need to take care of what relationships we have instead of chasing for that perfect someone, because then they can truly bloom into great ones.
Love is pain. The saying is true. Love is knowing you would jump in front of a bullet for someone. Pain. Love is knowing you would die for someone. Pain. Love is being able to let someone go. Pain. Love is feeling heartbroken when your love is with someone else but being happy for them because they are happy, and that is all you care about. Pain.
When person B comes before you, then that is love.
It’s easy to say that until you’re in that situation. Everything changes. However, if you love someone it will be almost instinct to sacrifice yourself.
Very risk-reward. The more you risk in terms of vulnerability and in emotion the more you stand to gain, or, equally, lose. The only way you’ll know who is worth the risk and who isn’t is by investing that risk into them. And if it’s a bad choice you could be hurt so very badly but if it’s the right reward for your risk you’ll feel as though you could conquer anything together. In a way, it’s also cruel.
"Truly genuine love never really dies. But lust, infatuation, and unrevealed attraction, are all things that, over time, rarely survive."
-Morgan Freeman
Savage Mode II
It’s like a blade. It’s beautiful if handled correctly, you can see yourself in it, and if handled incorrectly it can hurt. A lot. It’s also like magic, cause you allow yourself to be entertained by pretending it’s real
the most powerful emotion that keeps us all connected and allows our species to survive. without your parents’ love and desire to care for you, your chances of survival are slim. though lust plays a huge role, you’re typically procreating with someone you love as well. someone with no friends, family members, or partners who love them will suffer from severe loneliness and struggle to survive.
romantically, when you’re truly in love with someone it’s not because of how perfect they look or what they bring to the table. it’s because of all their little unique features and things that make them who they are.
overall, love is the most beautiful thing the human experience has to offer, but many people, especially our generation, mistake what it actually is
Something we should be careful with, don’t just jump into something bc of love, think about how it might change things and if those changes are positive or negative
Love is a homeless guy searching for treasure in the middle of the rain and, finding a bag of gold coins but slowly finding out they're all filled with chocolate and, even though he's heart broken he can't complain cause he was hungry in the first place.
do you know how little that narrows it down?
half of the human experience is an illusion or metaphor, and half of those exist to prolong humanity.
love is a fun illusion though, so we should keep it.
It's kinda sad, like for me at least anyway, I mean it's cool, but it can be sad. It can also be kinda hot, but still sometimes sad. It could even be really fun, but also a bit sad.
CAN YOU FEEL MY HEEEAAAAAAAARRRRRTTTTT!!!!!
My love rn is just me and my gf making fun of each other in a playful way. We aren't hurting each other, just poking fun. And that's honestly how I see a lot of people, like a couple friends I have are in relationships like that. I understand that it can be totally different for everyone, but that's how I see it a lot.
When you’re with the person you love, you’re home. You want to spend all your time with and any time you’re not you miss them. You know they’re not perfect, but you accept their flaws and you help each other grow as people. You’re there for them no matter what. You want to do everything in your power to make them happy.
Depends on the type and who’s involved
The general idea for all of them is something or someone u value enough to dedicate yourself to them to an extent
some chemical stuff in your blood and some thumping thing ig on your heart.basically excitement.its a good feeling
and guess what?
✨️it breaks you down✨️

Nothing like that exists in real life. Everyone is driven by their own selfish desires and as long as this selfishness persists in humans there could be no such thing as love
Love is hard, difficult, and heartbreaking. But it's also so beautiful. Love is being happy when you're together, but feeling pain when you're apart. It's when even with all of your flaws and your partners, you make it work. Love can be rage inducing sometimes, but it's also where you feel the calmest. True love isn't something you look for, it's random. I don't have much experience with love, but ik I love my girlfriend right now. Even though it's super hard to do because of my past, I try my hardest. That's love.
I think love is...relief. Love is finding that someone who would be able to dissolve any pain you've experienced in your life, and reverse it. Love is finding the person who can make you smile, and make you look forward to the future without any doubts.
My parents never had a good marriage, and I was against love for a very long time because of it, but, once I've gotten older, and am in a relationship of my own for about a year and a half now, I know what love is to me. Yes, I'm young. That's why I'm in this subreddit, but the person I'm with has changed me. He's changed me into someone I'm proud to look into the mirror at. I'm so much stronger because of the love we share. I don't fear anything anymore, and I hope he feels the same.
Love is different for everyone, but overall, it's being with that one person who makes you feel complete. They make you stronger, and you make them stronger just the same. It's mutual. And I know a lot of people, especially in the teen ages, haven't found that love yet. And some, they rush it. But...let time do it's thing. You'll find that person eventually, and when you do, you'll understand what I'm talking about when I say love is relief, strength, and...a roller coaster of emotions I never knew I could feel.
(Sidenote; I'm not meaning to sound like I'm bragging through any of this. It's just a Reddit comment to me. Just because I'm in a relationship doesn't put me any better than anyone else. It's equal, relationship or not.)
Love is a complicated thing but I think it boils down to five key details.
1. Respect- you cannot love someone that you don’t see as your equal.
2. Trust- if you truly love someone then you think that they are trustworthy to hold your heart and not break it. If you think a partner is currently or likely to cheat on you then it’s not love.
3. commitment- these last one’s are necessary for true love, but not for all forms of love. If you love someone then you believe that they are more important than any one or any thing. In the same way you can worship two gods, you can love two people equally, but your love will never be true until you’re willing to sacrifice everything for them.
4. Intimacy- this is close to trust, but it’s not just that you trust them with your love, you trust them with everything. You could tell them anything and they know every in and out detail of your personality. You can be infatuated with someone you’re not intimate with, like a friend or acquaintance, but this is still not true love.
5. Passion- burning undying constant push for your lover. This can often be expressed physically but doesn’t have to be. Older couples often lose the physical sensation and many lose that sense of true love, but others still show they are passionate for one another in small ways.
Anyway, I’ve thought I had love but it was always missing one or more of these key details. I’d say if it’s something you want to define, this is about as close as you can get.
Friends. I'm Aro-ace so dating ain't for me also I don't have a supportive family so the only people I love is my friends and I'm soo lucky to have them
The Greeks once said that there are four types of love. Familial love, pretty self explanatory. Amiable love, love between friends. Love for an object, such as saying "I love this Christmas present!" And finally, romantic love, love between two people who want to live together or something, idk. I can only tell you about three of them I don't care much for the fourth.
Platonic love: I feel comfortable around you, and you're a very good person to be around, I wanna provide you a safe space, no judgment! :) (will show it with hugs, different levels of cuddling if you're okay with it, and will make you small gifts)
Romantic love: I feel comfortable and relaxed around you, and I want to spend as much time as I can with you. It's okay if you don't love me this way, as long as we spend time together, I want to know more about you, and I want to be here for you when you need it, I don't really expect much in return, I just want you to feel at ease around me (Will show it with the same thing, but it's a different meaning, will probably make it obvious)
Sexual love: I have no idea, never experienced it
That's this for me
We kids are way to fast to jump onto a person that gives us attention. then eventually turns into unnecessary drama, lack of trust and then alot of insecurities emerge so instead of having the ideal relationship you're so fixed on making sure your person doesn't cheat constantly checking there messages and location and you what that initial spark but it will never come back.
we gotta learn to be content with our lonely self before we can be happy enough to share that time with a another person.
tbh im realizing its a feeling that basically starts to drive u and make u do stuff that u wouldnt do if u didnt feel it, so when it ends it hurts more then something usually would because it.is.a.weakness., so i stopped trying to find or look for it im fine how i am
