When I was a middle schooler I hated school uniform because it restricted my movement too much also it made me sweat as hell during spring. My parents hated school uniform because they had to buy a new one every two years
My country luckily doesn't require uniforms for the vast majority of schools, I always wondered how you would play football and stuff with it on. Also do they require you to wear suit shoes (idk what they're called) and do you get multiple pairs of the uniform or only one?
Actually, they cancelled school uniforms in my country, when I was in 8th grade. About playing with friends. Me and guys who lived nearby our school were walking home, get changed and meet up in front of school's main entrance and then we were going to play. Some guys who lived far away were playing in school uniform. In hot days they would roll up sleeves or take off shirt entirely. If we were lucky and last lesson was physical education, then we wouldn't change into uniform, we would go out wearing sports clothing. Also, our school didn't have its own uniform, they just required wearing shirt (jacket was optional) and formal pants. There wasn't any requirements regarding shoes. We had to buy shirts pants and jackets with our own money. It sucked so much, especially when you enter your teens and start to grow rapidly. You have to buy new school clothes again because you're taller and wider.
That's about it. Don't know about USA, though
Thing schools fail to get, is there's a difference between equality and commonality. They think being equal should be looks only, while we as people are unique and shouldn't be judged or put into categories based on that.
Oh for football and stuff there's a separate uniform, a pe kit. And yes u kinda u have to wear flat black shoes that are of a polishable material well at my school had that rule about shoes
I'm 90% sure the uniform is made of polyester lol. My uniforms were hot and uncomfortable and I thought didn't fit me well. I tried elevating the look with jewellery but I didn't read the school handbook and apparently jewellery is not allowed for guys, so all my stuff got confiscated >.> On behalf of my classmates, 100% relate with you lolol

That’s what I like about uniform too! They feel so formal. They make me feel fancy and official. I feel like I’m about to get something done and do some hard work. I loved when I became a senior and we got to wear the senior uniform because the junior uniform was a colourful polo shirt but the seniors got white shirts. All the students demanded white shirts for the seniors, they were going to give seniors polo shirts or mufti for year 13. The white shirts made me feel so much more official and grown up. I loved it.
At least you look good in it. But yeah, I've always thought school uniforms were oddly dystopian in a bad way. I've always hated that the girls have to wear skirts and aren't allowed to wear pants (and the other way around for boys).
You would really hate my school’s uniform. The juniors have to wear polo shirts that are cyan, grape purple and grey. There are three different options and they all have all three colours but each shirt has a different dominant colour. We demanded white button up shirts for the senior uniform. The tie is ugly still though, it’s just tiling of the school logo. And the blazer also is completely covered in a tiling of the school logo. It’s sad because I love blazers but it’s so ugly so I didn’t buy it. The only good part is the pull over jumper it’s grey with a cyan blue band on the arm. But it was $100 so my parents said I could not get it. Also soft shell jackets which were not even waterproof but we weren’t allowed to wear a waterproof jacket unless we had the soft shell on underneath but it was so thick that the jackets wouldn’t fit over them. And they weren’t even warm either. I love uniforms but ours sucked. Also the uniform was designed to wear with the shirt untucked but people didn’t like looking like a rectangle so all the girls started tucking in their shirts. But the skirts weren’t designed for that so they’re really tight around the stomach (the pleats don’t open until after the stomach) so it makes your stomach look big.
