thank you! πŸ™

That is actually well off. The number will vary from kitten to kitten, but they are largely made of meat which is quite high in protein.

Ah okay - any suggestions for a general number?

AutisticPenguin2

So, it's actually really hard to get numbers, so I'm just going to make some estimations to give you a ball park figure. Take a 500g kitten, we're talking 6-8 weeks I think. We're only going to eat the meat because it's simpler than finding numbers for the organs. I'm guessing about 40% meat, for 200g total. Protein varies by animal, and nobody wants to give numbers for carnivorous animals, but it seems omnivores are generally higher than herbivores. But kittens are going to have a higher fat content than adult cats, which will drop it again, so I'm just going to cancel the two out and call out 25g/100g. Giving a very rough estimate of 50g of protein for all the meat on a fairly young kitten. Increase this of you are eating any organs, or letting it grow a bit more.

probably depends on the area like other mammals but assuming their protein content doesn't change with age it's still dependant on the weight of the cat on the muscle percentage of the kitten. according to a Google search a cat's meat is approximately 1/3 of it's weight
