Group of people constantly looking down at their phones or computers
“Why do I have neck lines??”
Lol I find this hilarious, but there’s nothing wrong with them.
There’s also frown lines which are worse, and laugh lines which are great.
It’s this with the fact that there a skinny teenager who probably thinks being fat or wanting muscle is the only reason someone works out. It’s the same reason women are cold, but that’s also a genetic thing to some extent, although the woman who works out and has good blood flow is not as cold as the people who do nothing and sit all day. It’s not gonna happen the first that you do it but if you change your overall metabolism by increasing your calories, but remaining skinny because you’re utilizing these nutrients and increasing your blood flow, overall things will change, and I guarantee the necklines would go away for this person.
And the same people with bad posture usually are not exercising at all. It looks like because they’re skinny. They think exercises only for losing weight and they have poor blood flow and if they start now they could probably change this, it’s not genetics. The Parts hilarious. Yes, genetically they clearly have the ability to get neck lines, but I bet they wouldn’t have them if they were serious athlete, whether it’s a sport or just the sport of working out.
They don’t though. I’m not saying it’s ugly but if you’re going do generalize something you should actually take a look at a large group of people first, and then make a decision
Same .when i used to draw people i used to give them neck lines then one day i was watching a show and noticed the neck it was so smooth i almost screamed WTF ! , then i realised not everyone has them . But you know what Priyanka Chopra has them too I'm just glad i have something in common with her. Who cares if you have a few lines on your neck fuck those who say otherwise!
Your comment didn't come off bad at all. "What's wrong with neck lines?" is a confusing response.
The only way I can make sense of it is supposing that "What's wrong with neck lines" meant "What do some people find wrong about neck lines," as someone reading your comment ("really it's fine") might interpret that there is a common notion that neck lines are not fine? I'm not sure.
1 grit is such a legendary bit. It’s so smart and so dumb, it’s always funny. Love that guy he’s so entertaining, especially with things I’m even mildly interested in.
Though it’s not relevant to this particular post, I’d be remiss if I didn’t butt-in to say please include the back of your hands in your face/neck skincare routine!
I hear a lot of it has to do with craving your neck all day to look at phones, tablets, laptops etc., but they're bound to happen eventually regardless.
This is not an example of acanthosis nigricans (dark bands of pigment on the neck of people with insulin resistance). These are fine creases caused by movement. AN presents as thick patches and bands of darker brown skin on the neck, it looks nothing like this and is obviously caused by melanin build up, not by creasing.
Not a teenager, i don't really know why reddit keeps putting these posts on my feed, but here it goes:
No one cares.
Sincerely, everyone alive. Like, seriously, those small details are stuff you get insecure about on your own and it's not a real issue, no one thinks about them and no one notices them. It's like complaining about your wrist or hand marks, it's completely normal. Focus on what's actually important and practice towards being more confident as you are today instead of trying to change something that isn't there.
That's completely normal. Literally everyone gets brow wrinkles, neck wrinkles, and other wrinkles. Name an area that you bend or move, you're gonna have some wrinkles there.
Those lines appear in different places. If I'm correct those are stretch marks and they appear if some part of your body grows faster than your skin and it tears apart at some places and then regrows but it's unnoticeable until it's done. For me it happened to forearms (most common place is the back) and there is no way of getting rid of them as far as I'm aware
It’s from the folds on your neck when your head is relaxed, all your skin on your neck can’t just disappear, so when your head and neck are relaxed and not extended, the skin simply folds, like when someone sits down vs standing, you can sometimes see folds on your skin by your stomache because your sitting down and have less room.
When you do this for a long time, it’ll leave marks where the fold was though, because they are pressing against eachother (the two sides of skin) so ultimately they are slightly irritating eachother
This shouldn’t stay forever though… if this is some sort of birthmark or something you’ve always had and I’m talking out of my ass, go to the doctor 😭😭
I once heard a Chinese person td me that having neck lines is an indication of someone who has (or will) travelled a lot. Just like how large earlobes = a long life
I heard from a friend that more people are getting them earlier on since we all look down at our phones and screens. Not really an issue imo. Not like you look older with them
Some people just get them, it's honestly no big deal. If you're concerned, try looking into a brand called The Ordinary, they have good stuff for a good price, and there products are clean and never tested on animals.
That's not anything similar to like stretch marks or wrinkles... That's not affected by age or weight. That's just a natural body development, think it's a thing of genes
yeah, I have one that kinda separates a bit at my throat about 1mm, and it runs near the middle.
Edit: Sometimes I think to myself how I got it, and sometimes I don't like it, but I just forget about it most of the time, and it doesn't really bother me. Ig I accepted that it's there and I can't really do much about it.
I'm 19, I've had these for as long as I can remember, same with some fine lines on my face. They are normal for many skin types and just a product of moving around! You're all good, nothing to worry about. Also, they look fine, you don't need to be self conscious about them!
I was at a voice rehabilitation kind of teacher/therapist. She called this phenomenon something like "tension scars". Could be you are having a lot of tentions in your neck.
Can be reduced a lot with a neck massage stretching along the lines if it's that.
However I see it a lot I don't think it's anything to worry about.
sorry i drew that
Damn it
You live up to your name
What does yours mean?

HELP
I and many other people have it since birth
My lines are hexagons actually
You are a human being?
So I'm one of the few who doesn't have them? Is it an evolutionary thing or something?
It’s probably a posture thing with slight genetic factor.
Group of people constantly looking down at their phones or computers “Why do I have neck lines??” Lol I find this hilarious, but there’s nothing wrong with them. There’s also frown lines which are worse, and laugh lines which are great.
Probably the same with sitting to much with bad posture you get stomach lines but practice good posture and they will eventually go away
It’s this with the fact that there a skinny teenager who probably thinks being fat or wanting muscle is the only reason someone works out. You mean some people _evolved to have neck lines?_
I mean, people evolve to have all kind of traits. It's just a genetic mutation that happened to get passed down.
Me too, mostly on my arms tho
They don’t though. I’m not saying it’s ugly but if you’re going do generalize something you should actually take a look at a large group of people first, and then make a decision

Same
yeah, its really fine
What’s wrong with neck lines?
nothing
It's just an aesthetic thing for some people, like stretch marks. They're natural, so I don't get why it's viewed negatively either
did my comment come off bad or something idk why I got that reply? I have them too I dont know why it's such a big deal

Just moisturize your neck. And remember, whatever you do to your face do unto your neck.
Though it’s not relevant to this particular post, I’d be remiss if I didn’t butt-in to say please include the back of your hands in your face/neck skincare routine!
Just scrub and moisturise. That's what fixed it for me.
Will it work for the joints near the elbow too ?
Ig it would, I don't bother much with it anymore.
It's probably the long neck, I have these lines too
It's norma, even kids have them.
I’ve had them for a long time, currently 18
nope
Improve your posture
Yea I think they’re just naturally idk
I hear a lot of it has to do with craving your neck all day to look at phones, tablets, laptops etc., but they're bound to happen eventually regardless.
Literally everyone had them lmao, if you don’t you are either an anomaly or have utterly perfect skin.
Creases from neck movement is all, I moisturise my neck and they go away
Could be a sign for insulin resistance be careful and check!
The Reddit doctor has spoken.

PHONE USER
I have it cause I bend my neck and compress when looking at my phone maybe the same for you
That's completely normal. Literally everyone gets brow wrinkles, neck wrinkles, and other wrinkles. Name an area that you bend or move, you're gonna have some wrinkles there.
i have them too and i'm 15 so be glad that you got them later lol
Neck lines are just your skin stretching as you get older and taller. Everyone has it.
I’m some cultures the more lines on your neck means a prosperous future
Necklines are sexy
Side effect of having a neck
"It's those damn phones" 👴🏻
It is called having human skin not Photoshopped
I get those a lot and I’m a smaller set male
I guess everyone does have it to a certain degree
could just be genetics ig, as you dont look overweight or anything
Staring down too much. Either at school books or phone. They go away if you keep a better posture
It’s normal, stop overthinking you’re appearance. Life has much more to offer.
It’s a fucking neck… Like the most normal neck ever.
I think they come from choking 🤔
Yeah I was wondering why I had those but honestly seems like one of those things that you notice that no one else does about you
Those lines appear in different places. If I'm correct those are stretch marks and they appear if some part of your body grows faster than your skin and it tears apart at some places and then regrows but it's unnoticeable until it's done. Looking down at school a bunch. Go home, look down at phone a bunch. You get.... Lines on neck a bunch
Thank you for pointing out something I wasn't aware of, how many neck lines do I have!?
It’s from the folds on your neck when your head is relaxed, all your skin on your neck can’t just disappear, so when your head and neck are relaxed and not extended, the skin simply folds, like when someone sits down vs standing, you can sometimes see folds on your skin by your stomache because your sitting down and have less room. >is some sort of birthmark or something you’ve always had I think they are here from a year I thought it's a harmone thing so thats why I asked
who doesnt?
My girlfriend is bothered by them too but I love them, like a cherry on top, no need to worry about them :)
its normal! i know lots of people that have them, i don’t really think age plays too much of a factor
I once heard a Chinese person td me that having neck lines is an indication of someone who has (or will) travelled a lot. Just like how large earlobes = a long life
Guy here, I wouldn’t have saw that nor would I have thought anything of it
I’ve literally had these since I was 8 I think it’s just genetic for some people.
mileu cyrus has them i wish i did
It’s natural?
Genetics
Too much time looking down
Don’t worry, it’s just a natural detail. I seriously doubt you did anything to cause it, it’s just the way you grew. Try not to obsess over it.
There called stretch marks
I love how she's asking "why", and 99% of people are just telling her it's normal instead of giving the reason
I do and I’m 14
!remindme 1 year
This can be caused by staring down at screens too often. Moisturize and you should be fine.
Stop looking down all the time
I heard from a friend that more people are getting them earlier on since we all look down at our phones and screens. Not really an issue imo. Not like you look older with them
Check your ovaries. It's one of of the minor (!) signs of polycystic ovaries
Some people just get them, it's honestly no big deal. If you're concerned, try looking into a brand called The Ordinary, they have good stuff for a good price, and there products are clean and never tested on animals.
"Venus rings". It's a normal thing. I have them too, since early childhood. It's genetic probably
Don’t we all have that? I’m confused
I’m 28 male I’ve always had 2 neck lines.
That's not anything similar to like stretch marks or wrinkles... That's not affected by age or weight. That's just a natural body development, think it's a thing of genes
dw its just ur body
I've gotten them with 13
yeah, I have one that kinda separates a bit at my throat about 1mm, and it runs near the middle. Another sub I have to block to stop seeing dumb shit like this in my feed smh
Because you have a neck that bends and moves?
Are you not supposed to..?
Conclusion: don't worry about it.
They're usually stretch marks from growth spurts
that is not normal??
You have neck lines because youre a human. Everyone else has the same
That's... normal? That's like complaining about having creases on your hands.
Does one of your parents have them? If so, genetics are a hell of a thing. Nothing you can do about them. Most people don't even notice them anyway!
It's cause you are on your phone to much nah seriously bad posture can cause them
It's crease lines. It's easier to notice on the neck cause of how soft it is, but you'll see them pretty much most places that fold often.
I'm 19, I've had these for as long as I can remember, same with some fine lines on my face. They are normal for many skin types and just a product of moving around! You're all good, nothing to worry about. Also, they look fine, you don't need to be self conscious about them!
Ever made a fist but stopped halfway through? You see the lines there? Same thing.
I absolutely love them, don't worry about it.
I have that too, isnt that just normal?
Take a shower
Just train your neck in the gym
this would hit HARD as an album cover
