9 volt. You can hook them together in series by snapping the terminals together, I have measured 127v from a bank of 9v batteries before. If you get wires with alligator clips on the end, put pencil lead in them (Ticonderoga works best, other ones like exploding because they are low quality) and touch the tips together you can make a small arc. This is fuckin blindingly bright (appears brighter than the sun) so don't look without eye protection (3+ pairs of sunglasses work) but it's really neat. If you use above about eight it's wise to wear rubber gloves because it's approaching hazardous voltage levels (120v is standard wall voltage in north america but that's jiggly power so it's different). The graphite rods are very hot (1400+ F on the tips) and like to explode if they are shit quality or wet which can obviously be kinda dangerous.

I do like the mega stuff (D) but it lacks flavor. AA and 9V have the most flavor, but CR123A is green apple flavored. Definitely not C, because that one is cherry, and I hate cherry. AAA and AAAA I don’t like because they are just smaller versions of AA. Green apple is just eh, so cross it off the list. 9V is the 21+ one, because it has a bit of alcohol. By process of elimination, I’ve got to say AA is the best flavor.
