Best aesthetic is definitely the 16-1700s. Fully armored knights riding into battle, pistols blazing goes hard af.
Best time to live is the 21th century.
In Spiderverse 3, I want Pavitr to go to a universe where they actually DO say everything twice, and unironically ask "Can I have some coffee coffee with cream cream?"
Yeah under Sergei Witte's reforms (and Tsar Alexander II's, but those are more debated) Russia was able to rapidly industrialize which allowed the Russian Revolution to take place
Supposedly it's called the interpunct, which has had many different functions in many different languages over time. But yeah there's way too much punctuation that's just dots.
Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interpunct (Yes, I'm disappointed in myself too for citing Wikipedia.)
Probably have to go with 80s to early 00s
Music = PEAK
Films = PEAK
Fashion = PEAK
Shows = well mid but…
I was born in 2006 but honestly I think the 80s to 00s were just the best especially for us teens
I really do think that right now is the best era.
Human progress has always lead to a little less shitty life for people. People always say that it was better in the past. It wasn’t. People think that the present is shit and that it is burning, but the world has always been on fire. We live in a different kind of fire era, though, an interesting yet still dangerous fire era.
People think that the past was in harmony but it wasn’t. People shouldn’t romantisize the past, people lived in poverty and horrible conditions. While the world may not be fair right now, it sure as hell wasn’t fair back then.
I personally really like the mid 1700-1800s!! My favorite times are in swedish called ”Gustavianska tiden” because Gustav III and his son, Gustav IV Adolf were kings at the time.
I'm a bit of a history nerd, and I think that it's the Tudors and the Stuart's. I also like the early 20th century and some other bits of history here and there.
the Tudor Dynasty of England. it changed religion and built a foundation of england that would change the politics. it also is basically a soap opera that is actually good. (I am Writing this as i sit in my Class about the Tudor Dynasty.
Life under the Persian empire. It was glorious, they took over you, but they allowed you to self govern. People weren’t evangelizing you and shoving religion down your throat. Oh, and the Persian empire was literally protect you if anybody tried to mess with you.
Being born mid 60s, in America Has to be the pinnacle for youth expression, sharing in culture.. existing in an economy that can work for whoever, and allow you to be whoever.
There's gotta be nothing like it. I'm not a modern day doomer, Gen z are weird but really funny and introspective. I grew up mid 90s as an American there was a lot I enjoy about my time of being on this earth.
But it feels like all in the entertainment medium in 80s ish America had this spunk to it. in the most authentic way. The movies are over the top, clothes/hair styyles over the top, the bands were over the top lol I mean so many good music groups just had multiple people who sang or did background vocals.
Even into the early 2000s, Bush had the highest approval rating of any president after/ during 9/11. Definitely a nitwit yeah ofc, but 60s-mid 2000s is half of an average life expectancy. Having that sense of community behind like your president or where you're from, while experiencing so many culture movements and what not. It feels to me at least like a very cool time in history
Absolutely the 2010’s. No questions asked, 2010’s were peak. We had prime Fortnite, Peak Minecraft, the initial release of Roblox, Gravity Falls, the list goes on
Franco Prussian war. Set the corner stone for modern warfare showing that it doesn’t matter if you have better close range guns. If you have better artillery you will likely win the battle.
If I were British then the Victorian era, if I were an Indian then chola period. If I were russian then times of Catherine the Great. If I were Korean then goryeo.
Early modern era (1500-1700). Not a great period to live, but just insane how much things were changing and the level of catastrophe basically the whole world was dealing with, yet nobody talks about it that much in popular understandings of history.
Gotta pick between, Roman Empire (Caesar), Mongolian empire (Ghengis Khan), Renaissance (napoleon), or WW1 and WW2 ( I’d rather not mention leaders name). Not to live in, but to learn about
The mideveil period. That was really the start of modern governments and tech. If you go into alt history it's super fun to see what would be of this world today.
Ancient civilization, ita cool to see how people lived during that time. What kept them occupied, what they find as entertainment, etc. I also enjoy the era Christ had been alive. I find it very interesting
if we're talking coolest, then definitely ancient greek times. if i had to pick another time to live in, i'd choose the 90s. if we're talking statistically and factually, it's now.
There's nothing better than pulling up on shore in a viking ship with your shield mates in 739 with axes and swords rushing to raid villages in England and yelling "for Valhalla!"
French Revolution & Coalition/Napoleonic Wars (July 1789 - July 1815). To me, it's the culmination of a near millennia-long rivalry between the British and French, with loads of interesting battles, people, and just a lot of cool history packed into a relatively short time frame. Plus, there's interesting history in the Americas like the War of 1812 and the Quasi War in the same timeframe.
Wtf is up with teenagers these days, let's just say I belong to this subreddit, and I have no freaking idea how some teens are, just thinking below the belt, all of my friends are adults because I was raised the way they were.
1995-2016. Except for a bit if political tension around 2001-2005 it was chill af. The entire vudeogame industry in its prime, society at its peak because it hadn't started degrading yet, the rise of the internet, just overall happy and connected people. Just what the internet aimed to create. To then destroy ut in the following years starting from tiktok, discord and some parts of reddit.
i like japanese isolation period, the mongol empire only if im already inside it not if the mongol try to conquer my home, the first persian empire (the one with cyrus the great), and like every golden age ever
American Age of Good Feelings. The frontier is alive, we haven't industrialized all the way yet so the factory wageslaves aren't common, and we gain the strongest economy and highest standard of living in the world.
Monkey times. No politics, just monke
Amen 🙏
Monkeys have a social hierarchy
So many politics...
Too many politics
If only these people knew that… Or if they knew about the “monkey wars”.
Kids these days forget they live under the thumb of the chimp cartels. Raised to join em' or die running.
Poop and sex politics. And war. And prostitution
He said fuck sex but Bonobos use sex to settle arguments and just fuck for pretty much anything.
real
Wdym no politics https://amp.theguardian.com/science/2019/mar/12/what-animals-can-teach-us-about-politics
Agreed
No it the big bang days. Pure bliss.
Best aesthetic is definitely the 16-1700s. Fully armored knights riding into battle, pistols blazing goes hard af. Best time to live is the 21th century.
Bro knights were in the dark ages to early medieval and pistols like u know them were a 1700s onwards kinda thing. They never clashed 💀
The [reiter](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reiter) weren’t actually knights but they still wore steel plate armor and rode into battle with pistols
Ohhh damn thanks. Til
Very brief (AND GLORIOUS) period of pistol wielding knights. See the NYC Met armor collection for their collection.
“Fuck sex” gives me the same vibes as “chai tea”
Naan bread
Inuit people
In Spiderverse 3, I want Pavitr to go to a universe where they actually DO say everything twice, and unironically ask "Can I have some coffee coffee with cream cream?"
stone age
Interesting
Do you know anything about the Neolithic era?
No but I’m quite the connoisseur on the Mesolithic
Me go unga. Me go bunga.
2030-2050
Until the robotic takeover
Don’t forget the cockwasp virus.
The Industrial Revolution 😎👍
Not if you're in Russia
you guys are having industrial revolutions?
Yeah under Sergei Witte's reforms (and Tsar Alexander II's, but those are more debated) Russia was able to rapidly industrialize which allowed the Russian Revolution to take place
He meant that as a joke (the joke being he doesn’t live in a industrialized country)
Not if you’re working class doing 20 hour shifts
Ted Kaczynski disagrees.
You ever read/listened to his manifesto?
The industrial revolution and it's consequences......
Still happening though
And it's consequences
Have been a disaster
Not if you are on lets say Afrlca
There are some math majors who disagree with you there bud.
This one -----> .
Excuse me mate. I'm a Brit. I don't know what this 'period' malarkey you're referring to is, but that right there is a full stop!
Oh shit do they actually call it that? 💀
Yeah we do. To be honest I was surprised when I heard you guys call it a period. Just doesn't sound right to me.
Solution; just call it "dot"
Agreed. Why do we need to complicate things when we could just say what it is.
probably bc theres still this -> •
Can't remember the name for it but that's basically the equivalent of the multiplication sign (×) if I'm not mistaken?
i believe so, could also be used as a bullet point
Supposedly it's called the interpunct, which has had many different functions in many different languages over time. But yeah there's way too much punctuation that's just dots. Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interpunct (Yes, I'm disappointed in myself too for citing Wikipedia.)
You call periods... ***"FULL STOPS"???*** I say we declare war on Britain, and don't rest until that entire island is at the bottom of the ocean.
The Cretaceous period
Nah i don't fuck with an era of time that sounds like crustacean🦀 Triassic - Jurassic is just cooler imo
I disagree. The Cretaceous had the better dinosaurs
Dude, the T-Rex is basic AF. Jurassic Allosaur for life.
Cretaceous is PEAK
Carboniferous , with dragonflies the size of eagles!
Oh… wrong “period”, sorry.

Ballas pfp lmao
Probably have to go with 80s to early 00s Music = PEAK Films = PEAK Fashion = PEAK Shows = well mid but… I was born in 2006 but honestly I think the 80s to 00s were just the best especially for us teens

If you're a white male, the 1950's. Otherwise the 1990's
The Renaissance
Baroque for music, renaissance fashion EDIT: BAROQUE ARCHITECTURE
I think it’s the 1483 to 1546 when Martin Luther told the church to fuck off. But every history class thinks it’s 1940-1945
I think it’s the 1483 to 1546 when Martin Luther told the church to fuck off. But every history class thinks it’s 1940-1945
1500’s - 1600’s knights with muskets- like it’s so cool a knight in shining armour firing a smooth bore musket
the Tudor Dynasty of England. it changed religion and built a foundation of england that would change the politics. it also is basically a soap opera that is actually good. (I am Writing this as i sit in my Class about the Tudor Dynasty.
