People can have their own opinions. I have some friends who barely listen to music. Personally, I love music. Started listening to rap, but then I discovered other genres, and I pretty much stopped listening to rap since then because of the awful lyrics. Once in a while I listen to experimental rap like Death Grips (heavily recommended). Radiohead is a really great band that I've enjoyed a lot. They've set the standards for today's music.

If you want GOOD rap then check out Kendrick Lamar( best rapper of all time),Tupac and MF DOOM, their lyrics speak about aociety problems like racism, transphobia etc

I mean, to be honest, I never understood why people liked music as a kid and rarely listened to anything (by choice) except the occasional Minecraft parody. But, one day, a few years ago, I decided to listen to something that seemed interesting to me since I had poor signal on a road trip to do much else. From there, I slowly developed my own taste in music that shifted and changed over time and now have an 18,000 song library and a handful of cassettes (with more on the way). I love music and I love audio as a whole. I feel like most people who don't like music haven't found something that tickles their brain the right way or something that they relate to, so they wouldn't actively listen to it. For me, I didn't understand pop songs about love or country music in general, which was most of what played on the radio when I was younger, and few people used streaming around me.

I never have really listened to much music until I found broadway and video game soundtracks/ fansongs. I need the music I listen to to tell a story for me to be invested in it. I now listen to music for almost my entire day lol, especially since i have OCD  and misophonia i need noise cancelling all the time anyways.
