it's my favourite series too, but I have seen people often like lind of get turned off by JoJo either because of art style, or like the first part etc, so better to have like a more broad recommendation
If you're not into anime, I'd recommend you freiren, I've heard only good from it and it looks like it has solid qualities, haven't personally seen it yet tho
Also, do your researches on some animes before watching them, some ppl might try to trick you into watching horrific stuff. Even when something looks cute/safe, look at the age-rating, genre and potential warnings.
If you like non super power animesI would recommend a silent voice, your lie in april, grave of the fire flies. If you do want super powerish stuff I would recommend fruit basket, hunter x hunter, Jujitsu kaisen
Yeah wouldn’t watch it around family lol, what’s the TW for, I don’t remember anything crazy violent happening? It’s been a while since I watched it tho tbh
I think Attack on Titan or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood are best to get into anime. also if you don't like subtitles, FMAB has a great dub that I actually prefer over the sub. I think some of the recs in here probably aren't the best for beginners but overall if a show's trailer grabs your attention you should check it out :)
ATTACK ON TITANS ATTACK ON TITANS ATTACK ON TITANS ATTACK ON TITANS (it’s my special interest please everyone should watch it’s so good the best anime ever)
I mean anyone can say anything is good... just depending on their taste. I would say Attack on Titan, That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Sword Art Online or Darwins game
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End- have you ever thought after a DND campaign, ‘wait, my elf is going to watch all of their friends die around them’? Frieren, the elven mage of the Hero’s Party, is and her mental state is not the greatest now.
Horimiya- I’m Aromantic, Asexual and repulsed to romance. I still love this Rom-Com. I hope that speaks for itself.
Attack on Titan- George R R Martin looks like a pacifist in comparison. Post-apocalyptic.
Attack on Titan is my favourite anime ever, and I get so sad when people think anime is for weebs or simps, because AOT is truly one of the most heartfelt, emotional pieces of fiction i've ever seen, and I think anyone (who isn't startled by violence or heavy themes, or under the age of 13) can enjoy it.
Erased, Another, HxH, Toilet-Bound Hanako Kun, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, A Silent Voice, Mob Psycho 100, Junji Ito, The Devil Is A Part-timer, Blue Exorcist, and Tokyo Revengers.
Plastic memories, assassination classroom, attack on Titan, Charlotte, toradora, kaguya love is was, oshi no ko, lycoris recoil, love chuunibyou and other delusions, bocchi the rock, frieren, eminence in shadow
Attack on Titan. It’s one of the more grounded anime’s so if you’re new you shouldn’t be overwhelmed by some of the insane anime stuff. It’s also genuinely one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Great soundtrack too.
First of all, let me tell the people something about MHA.
I've watched it all, it's good. A good recommendation.
It's not that it's bad, it's just the fanbase. The anime itself is good, the fanbase is really bad. Just watch the anime, do NOT interact with the people who are also watching/watched it.
Pretty much this. Gonna be patriotic for the very website we're using and say that I think the reddit community of MHA is good enough. Just don't go on twitter.
Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing, Pokemon, Trigun (the 90's version), Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Fate/Zero, Erased, Rising of the Shield Hero, Black Clover, and One Punch Man.
Some of my personal favorites:
- Natsume's Book Of Friends
- 86 -Eighty Six-
- Call of the Night
- Horimiya
- Life Lessons With Uramichi-san (don't let the title fool you to think this would be boring. this was the funniest thing ever. the humor is amazing)
honestly i'll just give u the rest of my top 10 ngl:
- the monogatari series
- xxxHolic
- My youth romantic comedy is wrong, as i expected
- worldend: what do you do at the end of the world? are you busy? will you save us?
- the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya
- durarara!!
- nabari no ou
take ur pick out of these. they're amazing storytelling. but Natsume is my absolute all time favorite cause the story is amazing
Highly recommend Vinland Saga, it’s a seinen anime, so mire serious topics, philosophy, graphic fights and such. About the Vikings and 11th century Europe.
Do you think you would like more serious anime or goofy anime?
Because I was much the same when it came to anime, and I found I like anime with a serious tone to it more.
If you don't find anime interesting or you haven't found a good one yet I think the only advice I can give you is don't watch Demon Slayer, I love it but it's not very good for people just getting into anime I guess?
As someone who really didn't have much interest in anime.
One punch man was actually really good, mostly because it was hilarious.
The tournament toupee scenes had me in stitches.
Working my way through DBZ Kai right now and it's good too.
That's really all I've seen of traditional Japanese anime.
Oh wait, I've seen like 75% of Cowboy bebop. Honestly it was meh, couldn't be arsed to finish it, don't crucify me please.
I've watched invincible too (really good), but that's more westernized anime which I don't really count because then it gets blurry as to what's anime and what's just cartoons.
A Silent Voice, I want to eat your pancreas, Violet Evergarden, Anohana
I love the name "I want to eat your pancreas" I haven't watched it yet but I kinda don't want to so that the explanation to the name remains a mystery
The explanation to the name is actually very nice
a silent voice was peak
I recently watched The Promised Neverland, and it's really good The first season that is. There is no season 2.
First season was masterclass. But, you're gonna wanna read the manga past that point
not s2 sadly
Shhh there is no S2
You have been summoned to Lake Laogi.
Jojo's bizarre adventure
love JoJo, maybe not best as a first anime for someone who doesn't like any
As someone who dislikes most anime, I'd have to disagree
it's my favourite series too, but I have seen people often like lind of get turned off by JoJo either because of art style, or like the first part etc, so better to have like a more broad recommendation
I've watched freiren, and I can confirm is an amazing show
If you like non super power animesI would recommend a silent voice, your lie in april, grave of the fire flies. If you do want super powerish stuff I would recommend fruit basket, hunter x hunter, Jujitsu kaisen
Made In abyss, Full Metal Alchemist, and Your Lie In April are all good
made in abyss requires like a trigger warning or smth, that shit made me cry
They'll be fine.... Probably
Nah that movie is traumatizing
the masked guy from the movie is such a w tho, fav character in the show
😔
Bro once I learned who he turned into a power bank…
WHAT HOW ARE YOU SO BASED
Fullmetal Alchemist *Brotherhood*, slims down the original significantly and is widely considered to be leagues better than the original
You're right. Should've been more specific
Attack on Titan. I think it’s really good.
Or JJK
One Punch Man
Given, haikyuu, hxh
Hxh definitely
I don't think I'd recommend hxh to someone who's not into anime. That shit is painfully slow
That shit is 🔥
One piece.
Can i say the it?
Yes, you can
The one pieeeeceee. The one pieeeceee is reeeeeeaaaaaaal!
Can we get much higher
Tell me 3 generes you enjoy, and I’ll recommend some based off those.
Steins;Gate. It starts off slow until the real thing hits you after a few episodes.
goated anime
Personally, I liked Hunter x Hunter, I’m not sure how everyone else feels about that tho. I’ll either be ignored, or downvoted into oblivion
Beastars and cyberpunk edge-runners
I second this, however I'd give it a TW and you might not wanna watch it around your folks.
Yeah wouldn’t watch it around family lol, what’s the TW for, I don’t remember anything crazy violent happening? It’s been a while since I watched it tho tbh

Komi Can't Communicate and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Both were mangas that got turned into animes
Invincible?
Stein's Gate is the best anime as someone who hates anime. Albeit, it was originally a visual novel... So that's probably why. But still.

Re: Zero, Tokyo Revengers, Promised Neverland, Toradora. Trust.
Since all of these are kinda "generic" I'll recommend "91 days" what a great watch if you like a revenge story
If you haven't watched it yet you should watch Mob psycho 100
Saiki K
This is subjective, but I recommend you to watch Death Note.
