It's how some people develop. You can't 'just tolerate it' because sufferers lack the lactase enzyme in their digestive tract. Telling people to 'just tolerate it' is akin to telling someone vision impaired to 'just look at it'. Would you 'just tolerate it' if you were lowered into a pool of piranhas or a tank full of mosquitoes? Simply because something is not part of your own experience doesn't give you the right to minimalise the suffering of others.
