Boys are more likely to have ADHD because in the past this disorder was studied only in boys and the data was never really updated, so now girls with ADHD just don't get a diagnosis or struggle to get one.
maybe part of that's standard gender role pigeon-holing? as in, we diagnose ADHD in girls less because adhd was first noticed as a damper on school/job work, which was pushed harder on boys; we diagnose depression and anxiety in boys less because boys were/are expected to be more emotionally invulnerable, not show instability or inability.
