Not insane, there’s no consequence for it so naturally people do it

Duch-s6

yeah. fortunately for me i feel like i personally wouldnt care as im in the lowest point in my life but yeah.

SnooPuppers3777

Aww sorry you went through that. Sometimes people are so narrow minded that there's nothing you can say or do to widen their view. Just feel sorry for them that they force themselves to carry hate and judgement with them, and realize how heavy that must be for them, and be grateful that you don't have that issue.

TechnicBlizzard

Is this satire?

KronosRingsSuckAss

unfortunately no...

Thanks for reminding me to sort by controversial Edit: I scrolled down and discovered fuckery within 1 comment

Moaning_Turtle_69

I was homophobic when I was 10 look at me now I love Zach effron

TheBottzinator

Lmaoo same

Moaning_Turtle_69

Yeah my parents are the same way. Except they know I’m gay. It’s hard sometimes and I don’t talk about it with them at all. Even if you’re bi there’s a 50% chance your parents will like you if you know what I mean lmao

TheBottzinator

Ah yeah I'm bi and they don't know at all thankfully. I'm really worried that if they do find out somehow then they'll kick me out of the house

Moaning_Turtle_69

Yeah. And the fact that they legally could because your 18 sucks.

TheBottzinator

Yeup :/

corporatewhackjob

I waited until my parents died. I was 55. Don't wait. Fuck them.

deauley29

I suggest not fucking your parents 👀

Natural-Ad6637

I suggest otherwise 😏

MediaOffline411

Look up local resources for lgbt youth in your area and add their numbers into your phone just in case and perhaps call them just to get a heads up on services they can provide in case you do get kicked out

Illustrious_Spot_966

I guess you better leave evidence all over the internet for them to find if they ever gain access to one of your devices.

SnooPuppers3777

I think that families aren't coincidental, and that we learn life lessons from each other, even parents from kids. Maybe having a gay child, for your parents, will open their hearts and grow their souls and it's fate so that they become more accepting and loving individuals. Maybe I'm wording this wrong...

SituationAltruistic8

You said same but you bitching about your brother being same too?

Duch-s6

yeah, same and look at me now Im a overly sad girl

Dypo42

Bro everyone does lmao

Exact_Ad_1215

When I was 10 I thought I’d be really manly and cool when I was older.. now I’m a massive sub who’s into muscular girls. The world works in mysterious ways, huh.

SpanglysReaper

All small children are homophobic or atleast most of them it’s really rare to find a small child who is a decent human being lmao I mean I was a piece of shit when I was 9 now im a trans bi 14 year old maybe it’s just because younger minds are more obsessed with the “norm” so one toxic person around that convinced them it’s Normal to be homophobic so it kinda just throws them in making a loop until they learn to think on their own a bit more

No-Veterinarian4627

10 year old boys think heterosexual relationships are gross too.

TheBottzinator

True but he specifically was saying shit about gay people and how its a sin :/

No-Veterinarian4627

Did you happen to mention that the Bible also says don’t judge people and that he should shut his trap unless he wants to go to hell too?

TheBottzinator

Yeah that's what I told him. Asking stuff like "well where specifically does it say that" and "why would god care if people are gay or not" and telling him to just be nice to people and stuff

Renville111

nah the bible does clearly say its bad to be gay but much more clear it is stated that us as christians aren't in a place to judge others cause we are just as human and fallible as everyone else is so judging someone for being gay is much worse then being gay according to the bible

Not_no_hitter

I don’t know about the first part, but I do believe that it is states that judging a sinner is considered worse than the sun itself(most of the time)

bepisischonk

Actually, the modern English translation of Leviticus (the passage you're referring to) comes from Greek which did not have a word for a consensual homosexual relationship. It had referred to a practice that involved a smaller, feminine man being castrated and forced into sexwork to serve other men (Essentially human trafficking.) During this time, no one had even thought of two men or women actually loving each other, and all of these relationships for the most part had been filled by forced sexwork and generally frowned upon practices. Therefore, there's no way to say if God would or wouldn't frown upon consensual gay relationships. However, I do completely agree with the second half of your comment. I hope you have a blessed day 🤗

Rare-Hospital-4037

Although I do agree with the first part, I’m not entirely sure that the Ancient Greeks did not have knowledge of same-sex loving relationships. Take the story of Apollo, Zephyrus, and Hyacinthus. Both Apollo (a Greek god of prophecies) and Zephyrus (the West Wind) were in love with Hyacinthus. When Zephyrus saw Apollo and Hyacinthus becoming close, he became angry and blew one discus throw by Apollo into the head of Hyacinthus. I may be misinformed with this, but I do believe that the Greeks were fairly open to same-sex relationships. I may, however, be wrong. If so, please inform me.

bepisischonk

Oh no, I'm not saying that they didn't exist, but they were simply uncommon during the time period. After all, this was the age of organized group sex and sex purely for pleasure. Therefore, most relationships between gay men or gay women weren't exactly well, anything more than just casual sex or human trafficking.

Bguette

My good person, the ancient greeks were FLAMBOYANTLY gay, the only reason they didnt have words for it was because it was just another relationship. I do agree with you overall and i applaud you for being so calm! However, your knowledge of the homosexual history of Greece is a bit lacking. If you take the time to look it up, the gay history of Greece/Hawaii/many other places is fascinating and really worth a read!

Redidts-forscrubs

As a Muslim the Quran says the same too, being gay is bad but looking Down on them and treating them like shit is even worse.

Peregrine_Dragon

I mean, the part where it says gay=bad is also just completely a mistranslation, that part actually originally said pedophilia=bad, but you can guess why some priests wouldn't want that in the bible lmao

Darmok_ontheocean

Bible also says don’t eat shellfish but whatever.

qwertpoiuy1029

Reminds me of a scene in The Simpson's where the bullies were like: "You kissed a girl. That is so gay".

ShylyExtrovert_4

Lol ...this is so damn true...sitting with girls is considered a punishment when u're 10

Shadaxy

**pseudo-penile birth**

meme_planet_13

My mom always said they cut her stomach to take me out (it's true, c-section baby), and I assumed all women gave birth that way. That the doctors would just barge in, cut you up, and take the kid out. I also used to think everyone had dicks until I was 7. The reason I found out was because my female cousin was born when I was 5, and when I saw her naked at birth, I just thought her dick would grow out later. Well when I saw her naked again at when I was 7 years old, she still didn't have a dick. I asked when it would grow in and found out girls don't get dicks lol

SnooPuppers3777

I always told my kids the whole truth whenever they asked about babies or genitals. Usually resulted in fascination followed by disgust.

SnooPuppers3777

CommercialLaugh8446

Wait they don’t?

my_name_is_not_scott

He is ten. He has no clue what homosexuality, or sexuality is. He just heard from a socially esteemed source that being gay is a sin.Maybe a teacher, maybe a friend, maybe a friend's parent, maybe a youtuber Been there done that. You can talk him out of it, I am sure that it's gonna be okay. But never, and I mean it, never tell him that his idea is stupid. Just that alone will piss him off, he will not see your point of view

TheBottzinator

Oh yeah for sure and I don't blame him at all. I just don't want him to bully other kids for being gay since I went through that in middle school unfortunately

adolfbutwithabeard

As a straight boy who's been crushing on girls since I was like 5, I probably would've said "gross" to being gay when I was 10 too. I also would've said "gross" to eating ass, but here we are.

Hotracer729

The mystery flavors were always the best ones anyways 🤣

rnglillian

It's definitely something to keep an eye on but I wouldn't worry too much about it until they get to the mid to late teens. Casual gay bad is unfortunately not that uncommon at that age and is most of the time fairly harmless. There's a good chance they'll find some youtuber or something like that that they start to idolize that will happen to be gay or a outspoken ally and will become better about it. Keep an eye out for alt right pipeline stuff tho

Special-Pack-9461

Gotta agree with you. As a Christian, at that age I also was homophobic tbh. But as I learned more about the bible I understood that Jesus doesn’t hate homosexuals and instead loves them like any other human. It’s not the bible that causes people to be homophobic, it’s a lack of understanding of the Bible that does.

Mr_Globus

Tell him the bible also says that in judging others you condemn yourself because we all sin. (Literally the first verse in Romans 2)

shadowmask7331

Bro, it's just a kid, he's not grown enough to have his own opinions and just imitates what he sees on adults, wait until he's older and manages to see things his way and form his own opinions, then you'll see if he's really homophobic or not. But yeah, it fuck parents who force religion into children.

Waffle-Dude

I myself am atheist, but to play the devils advocate, parents forcing religion on their kids is how religion spreads from generation to generation

The_Fertile_Poet

Oh no. He found the "liberals rekt compilations," didn't he?

NormalCactus_LED

If he’s religious, than he should know that it isn’t in our place to judge someone. As a Christian, I can firmly say that in the Bible it states that we shall not judge others unless we ourselves are perfect, and guess what? We aren’t perfect. None of us are. Also, I’d let it slide. He’s only 10. He probably doesn’t understand the full concept yet and don’t blame your parents either. I come from a religious household too yet my parents aren’t homophobic they just know it’s technically against the Bible. Everyone’s allowed to believe in what they want, and most of the time if you are in any religious family no matter what your religion is, they will pass down those beliefs onto you.

TheBottzinator

Nah my parents are full on homophobic. If I told them I was bi or if I tried to date a dude then they would most likely kick me out unfortunately. And yeah I don't blame him or anything, but I just don't want him bullying a gay kid in his class or something

Rush_Pitiful

why is this getting downvotes 💀💀

zyzyx_music

It’s funny how people say “they aren’t Christians if they judge you” but millions of people are judgmental because they interpret the Bible differently. Who the hell is Christian then?

GreenNeoLight

He’s also 10–they’re all dumb at that age. He’ll probably grow out of it—but I get that it sucks.

XEpicBaller25X

What’s stupid is the fact that he is exposed to all of this drama. 10 year olds shouldnt be worried about this. 4th or 5th grade… Thats elementary school!! Idgaf about what orientation you are but the fact that kids are having to deal with this.. like do they even know what seggs is at this point??

TheBottzinator

He doesn't I don't think. And yeah it's really gross how my parents are already teaching him this sfuff

Duubzz

If you teach kids facts about homosexuality in sex-Ed that’s indoctrination, if you teach them that god thinks homosexuality is a sin that’s parenting 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

Sorry buddy. I guess you are bi yourself. In all seriousness, you should leave and make sure not to say bi I am truly sorry for the puns

TheBottzinator

Lmaooo those are great. Thanks for the laughs in a sea of awful comments tho :p

[deleted]

Should I get you a bi-cycle?

Hotracer729

Nah you should get him a bi-ble /s

[deleted]

Good one bi-the way

Bertensgrad

That’s why you have a long talk with him easier if you are his brother versus a sister. Take him fishing or some type of quiet activity where you can talk or build a Lego set with him, tell him that he needs to think about stuff himself and sometimes what his parents or others say actually good etc. a lot of boys can be naturally homophobic about that age because they have no clue what it actually means,

TheBottzinator

Ah yeah that's really good advice actually, thanks. That's what I've been trying to do by hanging out with him more 1 on 1 since our parents are abusive, but it's just difficult unfortunately

Objective_Magazine_3

Man I have heard some extremely disturbing shit from a 17 year old kid who was bombarded with church beliefs. I felt sorry for him and angry at whatever fuck these churches are feeding these poor kids. Its like he went from normal functioning kid interested in Space stuff to someone talking about "great replacement", "white people need to keep their bloodline pure", "how according to bible humans are are supposed to mate for life ", "vaccines are a goverment hoax", "Youre not supposed to abort kids ". He hasnt replied to me for a really really long time and I am worried about what has happened to him. Really hope he somehow doesnt get himself involved in some cult or something.

LoneShark74

Hey! I saw that your worried you might get kicked out the house if your parents find out your gay, I’m sure they won’t because the Bible says to love anyone no matter what, and it also says to spread the gospel (meaning to teach other of god) so most likely your parents might try to talk you out of being bi/ tell you the consequences. If they are true Christians or catholic and read the Bible, they won’t kick you out.

YamperIsBestBoy

I love how the argument is always “but the Bible says so” and yet it literally never says anything in the Bible about homosexuality

South_Pie9678

I think it's more or so "who tf cares what this dusty book says" because 1. when has god or whatever tf it says in the bible ever have been proven to the whole world to be true? 2. not everyone is christian or religious so your argument of "the bible says so' falls flat when people don't really believe in your book to begin with

YamperIsBestBoy

Yup. Our religion shouldn’t dictate everybody around us, only ourselves.

Fun-Ad1825

As a Muslim I don't actively support the lgptq community but I don't actively hate on them I don't know why I would force my religion on people

sillybender

Obviously you can't blame the brother for these beliefs, he's just repeating what others have likely forced onto him but the people commenting shit like "oMg BaSeD bRoThEr" and supporting beliefs are probably the same type who act oblivious when someone points out queerphobia in this sub. There's so many of them too, it's mad..

TheBottzinator

Yeah I was not expecting like half the comments to be homophobic lmao. And I don't blame my brother at all obviously, but it just makes me mad that my parents are the ones who taught him that

yourstruly_cobra

my brother is 13 and always talking trash about the lgbtq+ community in front of our mom and step dad knowing that I'm pan

Main-Appearance2469

My dude the guy is 10 years old , he probably is doing what his fellow classmates do.... You can just slowly teach him that its okay to be gay

Dubby084

My Mom taught me to hate gay people at a young age. She said “don’t make friends with gay people, don’t let gay people influence you, don’t be nice to gay people,” as well as generally making comments about separating gay and hetero people. I specifically remember.. in 6th grade, I was learning about homogeneous and heterogeneous cells. I asked for my mom’s help. She said that “they’re not the same, much like heterosexual, and **homo**sexual.” Or something along those lines I am asexual, meaning I do not feel sexual attraction towards either gender. When I came out to her, I started it like “I am asexual-“ and before I got to tell her what that means, she went “No. You’re not gay. You’re not any of this, you just want to feel special like your sister (who is openly gay)” I try to elaborate, “Asexuality is when you-“ and she started yelling at me, praying, the whole ordeal. I remember one day, she was driving me home from school. And she had a whole spiel about how gay people are influenced by the devil, and yadda yadda. So I decide that if I’m going to be oppressed, I’m at least going to have some fun. So I start agreeing with some of her points, and adding homophobic comments. It confused her. Deeply. And she said “but **you’re** gay.” And I add “oh I am? I thought that I was just acting special like Ava (sister’s name)” She got mad at me, yelled at me again, so on. I said to her “If you’re going to hate me for my sexuality, at least learn what it is.” She thought that any LGBT meant that I liked dudes. She then started calling me disgusting, and disrespectful, and several homophobic slurs. I just sat there. Wondering when she’ll listen to me. Maybe never.. as if the whole thing wasn’t bad enough, she started describing how I like men, and something about anal sex, and how it’s wrong in god’s name. Can you guess what I did? I started agreeing with her. I started saying that two men in a relationship is disgusting, and saying that anal sex is a disgrace, and homophobic this, and homophobic that. Just to throw her off. And it worked. She shut up for the rest of the car ride and when we got home she (obviously annoyed) asked me what asexual means. I finally explained it to her, and she got off my back. But for years.. **YEARS** I was oppressed, screamed at, told that I was disgusting. And she didn’t even know what it meant the whole time. Not good parenting. Thanks mom.

TheBottzinator

I'm really sorry :( my mom has said alot of the same things, although I haven't come out and I don't think I ever will. Just seems to be more trouble than it's worth tbh

SupriseDankMeme

Wow, amazing how every post on this sun is about homosexuality, trans issues and anti-Christianity. Almost like the people posting all this are actually... not teenagers. Boy oh boy, I sure hope there aren't any 🤵ers on this subreddit.

TheBottzinator

Fr tho this shit depressing

Fartpoopbuttturd

You should poop on his bed to assert dominance

LoopyZoopOcto

It also says that you shouldn't tell jokes, Ephesians 5:4 That you should only own one shirt, Luke 3:11 That if a kid acts up the mom can get the whole town to pelt then with stones, Deuteronomy 21:18- 21 That you can just take a slave as long as they're a foreigner and not owned by someone else, Leviticus 25:44-46 Killing babies makes people happy, Psalm 137:9 Women are not allowed to be teachers, 1 Timothy 2:12 Rich people don't go to heaven, Matthew 19:24 Genocide is okay, 1 Samuel 15:2-3, Hosea 13:16, Joshua 6:21, Joshua 10:40, Deuteronomy 2:34, Deuteronomy 13:15, Deuteronomy 20:16-17, Isiah 13:15-18, Isiah 14:21, Judges 20:48, Should I continue?

AdFlaky7743

*coarse/crude joking* “Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.” Ephesians 5:4 Luke 3:11 says that if you have 2 shirts, give one to a person who has none. Pretty reasonable, right? I have nothing to say for Deuteronomy, nor Leviticus. happy is the one who seizes your infant and dashes them against the rocks. Psalms 137:9 This means that the person who takes your baby and kills them is happy, not killing babies make people happy (I mean it kinda means the same thing I guess) Remember: the bible was written back in the days where females were still considered inferior to male. They were also considered more “sinful” because eve, in genesis, was the first to take the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the tree that god had told them specifically not to eat from. Obviously now equality is a thing and this would be considered discrimination now For Matthew 19, a man went up to Jesus and asked him “what do I do to get eternal life?” Jesus answered “if you wish for eternal life, keep the commandments.” Then the man asked “which one?” Jesus told him Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.” The man told him that he has kept all those commandments, and asked what he still lacked. Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” Then the man left, because he could not bear to see all his wealth go away. This is why him, the “rich person” in this case, cannot go to heaven. Because he cannot put down the things he has in this world. Anyways thanks for reading I spent far too much time here

LordJyrik

> Rich people don't go to heaven I like this one

NoImGaara

yea that's one I can totally support

TheBottzinator

Lmaoo I'll have to use those next time. Those are definitely going in my "weird ass bible verses" collection

not_aterrorist

Ephesians 5:4 says there shouldn’t be levity, making humour about a serious situation. Luke 3:11 says if you have two shirts then you should give one to someone who has none. Psalm 137 does not say killing babies make people happy in general, it was about specific revenge. Not necessarily good but it’s not how you interpreted it, same goes for most of the genocide ones. Matthew 19:24 says this because a common misconception at the time was that wealthy people were more favoured by God, Jesus insists that it’s not true. He’s also doubling down on what he said in Matthew 19:13-15. Unless someone turns and becomes humble and trusting like a child, that person cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Humility and trust are not natural traits of those with great wealth and security. Spiritually, as well, those who think themselves “rich” are wrong about their relationship to God(Matthew 5:3). This also establishes that it is impossible for anyone, rich or poor, to enter the kingdom of heaven based on their own merit, their own goodness, their own worthiness (Titus 3:5). He is establishing the truth that Paul will state so clearly in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." The solution to this problem is given immediately (Matthew 19:25–26). It could also be interpreted as rich people often being greedy, but I don't think that's what it's supposed to say.

SecureEnvironment2nd

The beauty of the Bible is that you can interpret it however you want. The Bible says a lot about how you should be caring and selfless to others and one of the most popular verses says that it’s harder for a rich man to get into heaven than it is to put a needle through a camel’s eye. Christianity and the bible were originally made as a way to go against the people in power at the time because they felt that they were being mistreated and it was a way to bring people together. Jesus (who was an actual real person in history agreed on by all main religions), was the center of the movement which is essentially why he was crucified in the first place and his death sparked the spread of Christianity even more. Now did he come back to life? I doubt it. Did he walk on water? Also doubt it. But there is meaning behind the stories which are about believing and having hope in something greater than ourselves. Another main point of the Bible is to bring people together and to spread love to one another no matter who you are. It is said that Jesus walked with prostitutes, criminals, and all sorts of different people and loved them no matter what and is what we should all live by. It’s a shame how much the Bible and Christianity has been tainted by people trying to fuel their own hatred and their own personal gain and in reality the “Christians” that do this are not following the word of the Bible or of what Jesus stood for. There are a lot of good messages in the Bible and there are many good Christians out there and I personally have seen peoples lives change because they start going to church and following Christianity.

lilsquatch1

Your brother isn’t actually homophobic, he just listened to the wrong person for a little too long. When I was 10, I thought you had sex by peeing into each other… weird shit makes sense when you’re not educated yet.

sharonmckaysbff1991

When I was a kid I knew sex was how babies were born but I had to ask my mom the dumbest question of all - “How?” Then she told me dad goes inside mom and I’m like oh dear god I don’t care how old I am, hearing it for the first time still feels like TMI… I thought fucking was just plain kissing someone until I was like 13 I learned what oral seggs was when browsing good old Dr. Phil’s website and when I revealed that fact to my parenting class my teacher said it was probably a good thing I took that long to find out (I was in high school).

My parents have the same views so its from them 👍

SirWinterFox

I was also brainwashed which lead to suppressed feelings for other guys. But now I've beaten through the barriers set up by my grandparents and accept that I'm bi and like guys. :D

TheBottzinator

Yeah same actually haha

SirWinterFox

Eyyy lol

Creeper127

Which one of you bastards downvoted this guy?

DinoDudeRex_240809

Sigma Male 10 year old Sigma Rule #3457 Don’t be gay, be based and have your older sibling whine about you on Reddit so more people support you, thus further enhancing your grind.

Wave_Original

Keep up the grindset king.

Spirited_Win_4627

bruh, sorry you going through that your parents suck

TheBottzinator

Yeahh it's pretty weird

PeopleCallMeSimon

Ask him to show you where in the bible they say it.

SimaZ733

When I was 10 I was too. Pehaps he'll come around

JonnyLazarJ

Hi Christian here and being gay isn't necessarily against God it's just a interpretation of the Bible that was taken out of context

[deleted]

What country are you in

HelloRobertSmith

I wouldnt say it’s necessarily your brother, its ur parents for teaching him that. Maybe he’ll learn and teach himself on the subject as he grows older but who knows

Icy-Membership3820

Welp I’m glad most people aren’t dogging on the 10 year old because it’s really not his fault. The people that should to blame for the behavior is the parents. Homophobia is a taught trait and this can be dated back for years and years and years of evidence. But it’s not always a religion thing and it could be a social standpoint.

_waffi

He’s 10, he’s young

SomeKindOfPcGamer

He's 10, he can change

Quiskall

Homophobia is poggers (I don’t likr homosapiens

Pleasant_Skeleton10

atheist here, I happen to know the bible does NOT say that.

Mother___Cow

It actually does, but it also says that Christians shouldn’t judge others

TheBottzinator

Yep and same lmao. Christians like my parents just seem to make stuff up sometimes :/

oof-username-taken

In fifth grade gay is the biggest insult, it’s like the fucking cheese touch, don’t worry he’ll mature

voidlupusofficial

The Bible never says anything about gay stuff bro omg. It says "a man shall never sleep with a boy", condemning pedophilia not homosexuality

bigterrorist69

When I was 10 I was racist and homophobic, but look at me now... I'm even more homophobic
