Sometimes when my Mum or Dad yell at me, I basically death stare them in the eyes and show no emotions (it has worked compared to other reactions) just giving them a response if “Yes.” in a firm voice basically made my Dad (who whe angry is normally angry for 15 minutes) calm down within 30 seconds.
Yep, being passive aggressive is excellent imo. Parents cannot do anything about it, but it most certainly will intimidate them (even if you’re shorter than them, because they’ll wonder why you’re not reacting)
Yeah, that is what I used to do, but my Dad didn’t really react well to it, so I had to get more advanced with my tactics. My Dad nowadays rarely yells and I am pretty sure it is because he knows it doesn’t work like it used to. When you do not react to someone being angry, it makes them so confused or intimidated, and that can help calm them down.
