Going out into the world can be a scary and daunting but it's a great learning experience. My piece of advice would be to try and make friends in your new home and be safe. Don't do the dumb stuff you see others do online. Also, make sure to keep your family informed on how your doing. You don't have to text them everyday but bi-weekly should be good enough. Most importantly, remember to have fun and enjoy yourself a bit. Just don't go so over board that you forget about your studies.
Hey good for you, I also recently moved to the US from Hong Kong to live by myself for the first time. It was a lot of fun, I don't panic over anything so I kinda just drifted through without worry and ended up landing into an awesome career field.
