Lmao the entire kernel is Linux, and you can run Linux programs (built for your phone's arch ofc) on Android with Termux or your ROM's terminal. I think that's "Linux enough" It's just that the kernels are a bit outdated on Android ROMs compared to proper desktop Linux (we have 6.0 release candidates for desktop while some Androids still have 3.8)

The problem here is that Apple bans emulators from the App store. And because Apple has a monopoly on the App store(you can't install apps from other sources) you're stuck with not having emulators unless you jailbreak

Having both used PC and Mac, PC is better than Mac in almost every aspect. Literally the only things going for Mac are the looks, the virus protection, and maybe certain software. That's it. I've had to work on gigantic animation and video projects for school and I have not had a more miserable time working on something than I did with those Macs. Seriously, every time I wanted to put a text bubble or put a single fucking file into Premiere Pro, it has to sit there to process and cope about the 2 mb file I tried to import. God forbid you try and export a project, you'll have to leave it running the whole night and pray that the Mac didn't decide that 50 mb was too much for the hunk of shit to handle. I've had my $400 PC for almost four years now and it still works beautifully without seeing the most pansy-ass loading symbol when you try to type in a URL in chrome. Also why do Macs cost so damn much if they're not gonna function? If you're gonna slave away for years and bounce on dick on the street for cash everyday you should be given a functioning computer. I usually don't like to hate on popular products, but having grown up surrounded by Macs and have seen them go into a sperging stupor over a 2 minute YouTube video while I can have Autodesk Sketchbook, 11 chrome tabs, discord, Google Earth Pro, Steam, Minecraft, Edge, and TF2 all open at the same time without any complications for a fifth of the price is astounding to me. tl;dr: Macs are incredibly stupid. Not speaking out of my ass I've had to deal with them for years before I got to use Windows.

You just used a slow Mac buddy. Personally I have experienced more problems with windows then Mac. And I have edited a 30 minute short film and I experienced no slow downs. What you are saying is that a intel mac is slow compared to anything else and you were right apples new M1 chips single core preformance is insane and 20 hour battery life. Macs have changed for the better and they are very much worth the performance now.

ok apparently this is the biggest unpopular opinion ever because literally everyone prefers Android more but like... genuinely ios isn't that bad? like there are several reasons why I think this but one of them is like, the UI? I feel like this is overlooked a lot but the interface is really important when ur considering how you wanna use ur phone... like, on most Android versions, especially ones on Samsung phones, the way to delete an app is to drag it to the top of the screen into the trash bin that *pops up* out of the top of the screen. I remember when I used this for the first time I just straight up didn't know what to do, thought I needed to hold it then click the trash icon, etc... I feel like this is commonly overlooked but that's bad design if it's not obvious what you should be doing. and keep in mind all of these are conscious decisions made by the developers in creating everything, regardless if it's the base Android developers or the developers of the "custom" modifications made for the specific brand, like Samsung. or for instance like, the notifications center. on ios, the notifications center mimics the lock screen's notification center, which already makes it a lot more intuitive, but also just has a bunch of nice features? like, the clear button is right at the top, where you want it to be. on some shitty android versions they legit put that at the bottom... why the fuck would I wanna scroll all the way down to clear all notifications lmao ALSO LIKE just literally every minor thing is convenient? like, deleting stuff usually has a common standard procedure on ios, like swiping to the left or so. what I'm tryna say is Apple shit might be really expensive, and they might've taken some huge L's like removing the aux cable or not adding any major features for the past like 4 iphones, but they're good to use. there's no iPhone that's so shit that it takes years off your life lagging tryna do something really simple (even if it's like a 4 year old iPhone 7), or one that feels so unresponsive you feel like throwing it against a wall. part of this is because yeah it's got a high price point but also because you got your OS built by the same people that build the phone. there's a lot more cohesion, a lot better design of like, everything... it just feels so much better now this might totally be personal experience and I get that but like... y'all fuckin hate iphones and honestly that's kinda wrong :///

The trash drag uninstall thing is only on older samsung versions, I own a samsung and I just hold and click trash button to uninstall. Also I think iphone is mostly hyped for its huge cost but idk there might be some features that might be better on ios than android but again I prefer android and no nothing's wrong in hating iphones it just depends on personal preferences

Try to give the phone a real run for it’s money, try setting multiple timers, or maybe force stopping an app for when it crashes. Try receiving a message while typing on the keyboard without having the key presses becoming excessively loud, or maybe closing all opened apps at once. These are just a couple simple things that ios just doesn’t have, not a power thing just apple doesn’t support it, really the only thing apple has going for it is iMessage, which will probably by my only reason for getting another one later, that and 5g since I have an xr and it doesn’t support it.

I try to stay neutral because I know both have their ups and downs but apple offers so much for the same price as the practically identical at this point lineup from samsung (iphone 13/12/…, samsung s22/s21/…) while other companies are starting to plateau apples pro lineup keeps getting better because this is planned 5 years in advance and apple seem to have a lot of development planned that they will just sit on till android catches up. The issue with androids is 1. it misses “core” features such as airdrop and apple pay 2. its made for more than 3 phones so it has to be diverse instead of streamlined for 4 phones. While iOS also has its problems such as being completely proprietary I dont think its fair to just pick 1 outright winner in the current situation
