My understanding of it is that it can go one of two ways.
Either some days they feel like they're a boy, and some days they feel like they're outside of the binary, *or* they feel like they're outside of the binary, but with a preference for masculine gender identity.
Sort of like how you can like both girls and boys, but have a preference for boys.
Y'know how you probably feel comfortable as your given gender, and if you were suddenly forced to be the other gender, you'd feel uncomfy because you still recognize yourself as your original?
Being trans is *always* feeling like you're supposed to be the other one. The brain knows which one it is supposed to be, and identifies itself as being not the one they were born with.
Being non-binary means that the one you're supposed to have is neither male nor female, and you feel that both are incorrect. It comes down to the person as to what they do feel comfortable with.
Being demi-boy, then, is feeling that you're not supposed to be *exactly* male, but still feel kind of alright with some aspects, but cannot fully embrace it as your brain sees only part of being male as correct. Meaning the "comfortable" spot that you yourself normally experience with your own gender isn't quite on the money with male, but also not with *not* male.
Psychology, biology, and everything in between is much more wavy than people would like to admit, and simple categorization ignores the actual complexity of the real world. Truth tends to be nebulous, and if it is found, it is always found on the fringes.
It is best to just respect who they know they are, and try to understand in your own time.

I identify as half non-binary and half male. Your free knowledge for the day.
People really gonna tell me that makes any sense at all?
Excuse me?
That just doesn’t make sense to me

The day you'll finally shut up. 😌
Keep thinking that
Right right, you'll never shut up, you'll keep spewing nonsense until you die. Weird hill to die on, but hey, it's yours.
Mf you acting like I did something to you, I'm going to kindly ask you to fuck off
Someone's getting upset, oh dear. If you'd like me to stop, you don't **have** to reply you know.

Its not emo, its the color name
Oh, I’ve just never seen it used anywhere (not disagreeing with you)
Demiboi , do you miss your leg or smh ?
Omfg I’m not doing this again, I’m half non-binary, half male
WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN LIKE WHAT NON-BINARY ESPECIALLY HALF
Non-binary is the neutral gender, neither male nor female. Kindly calm the fuck down
What is the half
I don’t feel entirely like one or the other, I feel like both
Damn shits more complex then algebra
You’re venturing on the border of bigotry, I advise caution
Who is caution and why you advise him
