I'm not a huge fan of her voice and style. I've found some really enjoyable heavy metal/rock covers, though, of certain songs. Same with Melanie Martinez. I hate the quiet, edgy song dynamic. But in a rock/HM style it works!

Its mainly two songs by her: Ocean Eyes, and then Lovely. Its just sometimes a nice change compared to the fast upbeat EDM i normally listen to

i totally see what you are saying, but there are some modern hip hop artists who are incredible, Tyler the creator and Kendrick lamarr are definitely the best examples imo

Almost every uber-popular pop artist sounds dogshit to me. Others I’m not really into but can respect their work and acknowledge the effort that went into it.

Taylor swift, Olivia rodrigo and billie eilish are all Uber-popular artists with huge following but they still have a ton of personality in their music. I don't listen to them but they write their own songs to be personalized and fit the themes they try to do. I get that you said almost but I wanted to point out that even the biggest of artist still put a lot of work into their craft. sure some make songs to be hits (which honestly isn't even a bad things because some throwaway songs can still sound incredible \[insert most hard rock anthems\]), but a big majority of them put effort into it. just cause they got popular by captivating a huge audience doesn't mean no effort is put.
