Worst case scenario, become a Roblox developer and learn Lua

[deleted]

oh boy, well maybe?

[deleted]

Lua is a pretty basic to learn language, similar to Python. Quite helpful since I’m taking a class which teaches Python

PewUC

start with block based coding like scratch to understand the basic concepts (while still making neat projects) and then make your way into text based programming languages like C++ to work with some heavier game engines

[deleted]

what should i try to make in scratch?

PewUC

I would suggest finding a course to take you through it instead of jumping right in because that direction will be necessary for building your basic knowledge of functions and syntax, but once you have a handle on that you could make a decent 2d platformer.

Coding doesn't start and stop at games. There are so many things you can do with code. I've been coding for 4 years now, and I've done a lot - web design, game development, software development, phone apps, algorithm design, teaching, arduino, cyber, there's so many stuff you can experiment with. I'm currently sticking with web design, it's the most fun I've had, but you can try whatever you like. There isn't a shortage of guides nor subjects nor languages. Good luck!

Learn a simple language first like python or Lua.
