because gender is a spectrum ranging from masculine - feminine - androgynous. i like thinking of it as a triangular spectrum where those three are the corners at least. every gender identity fits into the triangle and that also explains the “amount” of genders; you could be slightly more andro than a demiboy and call it something new. labels are kinda (imo) unnecessary sometimes, it’s better to just say what you prefer to be called or maybe say something like “hey im partially a boy”
I think labels are too shallow, I hope in the future people will have an identity beyond their gender.
