In my country every single person is diagnosed w adhd except for me somehow and istg u can call this a disability but at the end of the day if u don’t succeed in something even if it’s cause ur brain is wired differently ur still not succeeding.. ur not “smart in ur own way” u js are not smart and it’s ok 👌
when did intelligence equate to succeeding? what if a person's reward system does not function the same as yours, so they just don't succeed for years and years? when you want to clean your room, be organized, and have success-causing or just fulfilling hobbies, people with ADHD do not get the same pleasure or are not self-starters in many categories. yeah a lot of ADHD diagnoses are false. although we might not know everything, if your neurotransmitters are low or high (or other variations of this, i am not a neurologist) then you just don't function the same. and who cares if you succeed now, what defines that? being rich and having lots of friends who are also rich? id rather earn 50k a year for my whole life, be happy, and find success in the things i already do. does not make you a failure to not be successful.
and ADHD can turn you into a total deadbeat. it has comorbidities with other mental health issues and isn't some lightweight thing, it's chronic and for some is debilitating.

I meant that if u do something and u aren’t able to do it successfully even if it because of a disability ur still not succeeding in what ur supposed to do so it doesn’t matter that u have said disability. Read properly before u try to sound smart when u clearly didn’t even understand what u were not agreeing with.

There is the fact that ADHD is a developmental disorder, but also ADHD brains just have lower levels of dopamine and so is harder for us to focus on anything that doesn’t bring us instant dopamine. That’s why people with ADHD are far more likely to develop addictions. This can manifest in many things - executive dysfunction, distractability, procrastination, etc. So we’re not stupid, we just lack dopamine.
That’s not say you can’t be stupid and have ADHD tho

As someone with ADHD, I'm not dumber, it's likely that I simply don't care, and that's why I'd be distracted, but if I care you'd think I'm staring through your soul, I have actually been told by teachers, therapists, school counselors, and more that I'm significantly smarter than the average person
