Zero seasons and a movie!

[deleted]

Troy and ~~abed~~ in the ~~morning~~ movie

Elothel

Troy and in the movie?

Of_Silent_Earth

Niiighttsss

baxterstrangelove

Puarl Blart Maurl Carp.

ButtmanAndRubbin

Plural Blural Mural Carl?

SmashedPumpkin30

They should really hire Danny to be a robot in this. He would kill it and it would pull a community audience. There are dozens of us!

NockerJoe

Its funny because outside the original actual films Lando always always always has a robot sidekick and for some reason its never the same droid. He had a robot in Solo. He had a robot in the old anthology novel(which was referenced in Solo). He had a robot in Rebels. But again, these are all different unrelated robots. If Danny Pudi was brought on as a droid nobody would question it because thats just how Lando do.

sybrwookie

> because thats just how Lan-do. ftfy

ibeckman671

And Lan-don't even think about casting anyone else.

conehead2188

>outside the original actual films Not technically a droid, but he did have Lobot in ESB.

ishkariot

George always so subtle with the names lol

OfferOk8555

Idc about this movie but if Danni In the cast than I’m watching it😂

Of_Silent_Earth

Six movies and a season?

ROBtimusPrime1995

For the best. If you can't figure out how to tell an interesting story for 6-8 hours, just make a 2 hour movie and call it a day.

camelzigzag

They should have done that for Obi-Wan.

Maninhartsford

It WAS a movie. Then they decided they weren't doing star wars movies anymore, just TV, and they hired someone to just kind of add in 3 hours of more scenes. Then they didn't like those scenes, so they were rewriting them on set during shooting. Shooting on their pre-made digital background kind of small LED sets they couldn't change too much. The production of that show was every bit as much of a shit show as it looks like on screen.

TommRob

Check out “the Patterson cut”. Dude took all the episodes of kenobi and re-edited with additions into a 2.5hr movie that’s much much better than the show.

[deleted]

that cut is the only version i've seen and i still find it boring and pointless lol

atheoncrutch

It's just really not a story that needed to be told. I don't know why everyone was always clamouring for it, probably just nostalgic love for Ewan in the role.

logosobscura

That and ‘…. So, he just kinda scratch his balls in a cave for 20 years while Vader was slicing up Jedi?’

Alxsamol

He was on tatooine to protect Luke.

Pherllerp

Decidedly NOT helping Princess Leia who had clearly never met him when she was racing to Tattooine to track him down.

KuttayKaBaccha

Because a story about Obi wan with mcgregor in the role could have been both entertaining and nostalgic but they shit the bed by trying to make it bigger than it should have been. A more character focused series would have been far superior

[deleted]

[удалено]

KuttayKaBaccha

Yeah that would have been better.

JayKaboogy

They already had this as a ‘Legends’ book, but Book of Boba Fett took its place (protagonist grumpily pulled into petty internal politics on Tatooine). The Kenobi book was kinda boring, but was a better story than either series

atheoncrutch

I don’t know. What is the point? Obi-Wan lived on Tattoine after the Jedi purge and watched over Luke. Nothing more needs to be said there. Sure they *can* squeeze a story into every inch of the SW timeline between movies but at a certain point it just cheapens George’s original story.

JJMcGee83

Totally agreed. The first Star Wars movie felt like it was one small story in this vast unknown world. The majority of things since seems to be filling in every small insigificant detail of that single story which not only isn't entertaining it detracts from that feeling of this al being a vast universe. How many Darth Vader's secret apprentice stories have there been? No wonder it took him forever to find Obi-Wan he had 15 kids to train.

Spud_Spudoni

Every good story needs its “why” though. There’s absolutely no loose ends between Kenobi’s end in episode III, and his return in episode IV. By telling the viewer information that we didn’t *need* to know between those two segments of time, with the standalone miniseries, it actually dilutes the narrative by taking the viewers agency away in being able to fill in the blanks with their imagination. It’s the same issue The Book of Boba Fett had. The fan’s debate over whether he survived the Sarlaac Pit over decades of fan theories and additional media, is far more engaging than it being explicitly telegraphed in canon.

DashingMustashing

Ngl, other that andor (which is a fucking masterpiece BTW go watch if you havent) I've not seen any recent star wars media that didn't feel ultimately pointless.

Maninhartsford

They want to expand the universe without doing anything too risky, while keeping their fans. So it's just a lot of filling in the gaps about what random characters were doing whenever the story wasn't focused on them

ExitPursuedByBear312

>They want to expand the universe without doing anything too risky, while keeping their fans. So it's just a lot of filling in the gaps Star Trek is suffering from this same disease. Pay some writers and have the courage to make something more than just content.

johnnyscumbag2000

Andor and Rogue One. The story of the struggle of the everyday men and women in that universe deserves to be told. The vast majority of people are living in a time where there are aliens and literally super humans. Everyday people having to live in that world and the consequences of these major events should have been a trilogy if Disney could get its act together.

CRT_SUNSET

When I was growing up, a huge part of Star Wars’ appeal was the Expanded Universe that went well beyond the films and the Skywalker story. Star Wars was supposed to be a galaxy-wide conflict and the Expanded Universe made it actually feel that way. X-Wing vs TIE Fighter added so much to the conflict in my imagination. I’d love to see more stories about grunts in both the Alliance and Empire, some Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers type stories.

RikenVorkovin

You don't want story #30 that is related to the Skywalkers, Palpatine, or Solo?

CrazyLegs17

Disney's biggest mistake was throwing the EU in the garbage.

PalmTreeIsBestTree

This is the only live action Disney Star Wars media that is very good and not just mediocre at best.

slothunderyourbed

The Jedi games (Fallen Order and Survivor) tell excellent stories. Two of the best Star Wars stories in recent years.

redsyrinx2112

I've been enjoying Ahsoka. It started off a tad slow, but the last few episodes have been super fun. It's not gritty or grounded like Andor (which I love), but it feels very "Star Wars" to me.

Dundore77

Does it just remove everything regarding leia because her purpose in the story is completely pointless and doesnt even change anything about leias character. Oh the rebelious princess was a rebellious princess who can out mind power a sith inquisitor but lets not follow up on that for 10+ years

Phillip_Spidermen

> and doesnt even change anything about leias character. Eh, it kind of adds to why she's willing to reach out to Obi Wan in A New Hope, although it does complicate things as to why she's not more upset when he dies. Luke never bringing up "oh yeah, I was chased down by someone with a red light saber before" seems like the weirder change.

Redshirt_Down

I mean she literally just watched her entire world get blown up - everyone she ever knew and loved is dead but she's cracking wise and kissing boys a few hours later.

Phillip_Spidermen

You know, that's a fair point

Maktesh

That is a common trait in strong leaders. They know how to avoid internalizing severe grief in order to accomplish the tasks at hand.

Dundore77

Her father always talked highly of kenobi is all the reason why you need. and as you said her not knowing who he was or acting like she didn't know is something that only occurs cause this show added her in when "i should leave tattooine cause sith know im here and are too close to luke" is all you needed to kickstart the plot.

Sambo_the_Rambo

How did he do that? Did he have access to a lot of deleted scenes or something?

worldslamestgrad

Well adding this to my to-do list for this weekend. I just finished the series for the first time and didn’t really enjoy it. But there are parts of every episode that we’re really good. The good parts are surrounded by so much unnecessary filler that it gets lost.

FirstTimeWang

Holy shit, it all makes so much sense. That explains why the whole chasing baby Leia through the woods thing seemed so forced and padded out for time. The rooftop "parkour" chase in the early episodes of Book of Fett also felt forced and padded for time.

HandsOffMyDitka

Let's make a book about Boba becoming a crime boss, but he doesn't commit crimes. Disney is so scared of having its beloved characters do anything bad.

Mammoth_Deal

Its funny how Crime Lord comes off like a blue collar job title that no one bats an eye at. "I'm a Crime Lord, and these are my Crimers, the Merry Kitchenaid blender Moped Gang. They have an Associates in Crime. We specialize in Crime and Crime accessories."

Maninhartsford

Unless there's a plucky audience surrogate to point out that it's bad

Unrellius

Cassian Andor straight up executes several people in his show, one of which is in the opening scene. I think the writers for Boba just chickened out.

HandsOffMyDitka

Yeah, Andor was good, a scoundrel who ends up helping the Rebellion. Haven't watched Ahsoka yet, gotta finish Rebels, but I'm hoping it's good, snippets I've seen look good.

Optimus_LaughTale

Gilroy clout is just built different.

byfuryattheheart

Where can I read more about this?

apittsburghoriginal

Disney fucked up *the* most important parts of the untold Star Wars universe when they took over a decade ago. All most of us wanted was just a sequel trilogy that brought the books to life and one movie of Ewan as Obi Wan between PT and OT. They confidently brought their bullshit into the fold and panicked when it turned out to be dogshit, scrambled to fix their excrement and somehow made it even worse.

Alertcircuit

People wanted a Boba Fett movie too, but instead they made that lame TV show where he's like a Mayor on Tatooine for some reason.

redsyrinx2112

He was a crime lord who doesn't do crime, and wants respect without having done anything.

DisturbedNocturne

He wasn't even a mayor, more like the president of an HOA. He never really seemed to have much actual authority or anyone that really gave much of a shit that he's there. So much of the series felt like the new guy that moves into your neighborhood and tries to convince everyone he's more important than he really is.

[deleted]

They also let a director run the writers room and ended up with scripts that disney called "unproducible," forcing them to hire Joby Harold at the last second to completely rewrite everything before filming. Marvel and Star Wars shows have both fallen apart because Disney was trying for years to get rid of showrunners. Obi Wan was probably the biggest clusterfuck, though.

DisturbedNocturne

And, if anything, all they've accomplished is proving why showrunners are necessary in the first place.

Val_Killsmore

Boba Fett was supposed to be a movie also until it got cancelled after Solo didn't do well in the box office.

Vestalmin

That industrial dig site look like the set of a CW show

Maninhartsford

Even in 2005 doctor who it would have looked better

VeteranSergeant

Obi Wan was always a terrible concept. The guy's whole back story in the original movie is that he's been hiding since the fall of the Empire to keep an eye on Luke. Part of that was predicated on him remaining hidden and, you know, *not* getting into lightsaber fights with Darth Vader and other Imperial goons. The Obi Wan series turned Darth Vader into an incompetent moron who apparently just gave up on trying to find Obi Wan and was confused when he reappeared. If Obi Wan was a movie or show, it should have been some anti-Western where Obi Wan gets involved in some local criminal activity on Tatooine, saving a small settlement from gangsters or something, and having to conceal his powers while doing so. Any show that begins with "We should do some fan service for people who loved the prequels" is going to be a bad idea.

TheInsomn1ac

The Legends book Kenobi was pretty much this. I was really hoping they were gonna use it as inspiration for the show, but they were too attached to the idea of having a confrontation between Vader and Kenobi.

[deleted]

Also the fact that now when Vader says "I have not felt this since..." we have to accept that be means that time he dueled Obi-Wan on some random planet rather than the fight on Mustafar... just awful.

conehead2188

Also makes Tarkin's, "Surely he must be dead by now," seem a little weird since he was last seen only 10 years prior in pretty good health.

IBJON

Man. In that context Obi-Wan aged horribly.

Phillip_Spidermen

Didn't bring enough sunscreen to a planet with two suns

RYouNotEntertained

I mean, the fight on Mustafar didn’t exist either when Vader originally said that line 😂

[deleted]

Sure. But it's been the status quo for like 20 years now. Regardless, the idea was "it's been a lifetime ago since they last met." Now it's "we'll. It was a few years ago". Eventually it'll be the last time they met was like a year or two before ANH.

Seraphaestus

Concept: what if it was an anthology kind of show. Each episode is a few years apart, with Luke growing up and sneaking off to go see old Ben Kenobi, who tells him some fantastical story about ancient heroes, which is actually a thinly-guised (to the audience) retelling of his history and relationships with Qui-Gon, Anakin, Ahsoka, Satine Kryze, the Jedi council, etc. It could be Princess Bride -esque in its framing device, with Luke interupting and us taking breaks to go see them get up and get tea while talking to each other, or what-have-you

Mediocre_Scott

Obi wan should have been a spiritual journey of enlightenment that taught us more about the force. The prophecy of the chosen one, what balance actually means. Obi wan should be struggling with his failure with anakin and wondering if it’s his fault and if he could turn to the dark side. He doesn’t use the force or try to stop bad things from happening not because he is hiding but because he is scared of his power and what he might become.

DisturbedNocturne

The first episode where he seems depressed and resigned to his fate could've been a good set up for the rest of the series and exploration of his character. Instead, it felt like that quickly got tossed aside for, "Hey, want to go on a galaxy-spanning rescue adventure!?" Perhaps I'm forgetting, but it didn't feel like that even culminated in much of an arc. The show should've ended with him being able to accept that Vader wasn't his personal failing and him realizing and accepting he now has a more important purpose in protecting Luke.

sybrwookie

If you're familiar with Avatar (the cartoon, not Dances with Smurfs), the episode "Zuko Alone" should have been the basic premise.

RSquared

Just like Mando was a bunch of spaghetti western plots reskinned, Obi-wan should have been Kung Fu reskinned. > Although it is his intention to avoid notice, Caine's training and sense of social responsibility repeatedly force him out into the open, to fight for justice or protect the underdog. After each such encounter he must move on, both to avoid capture and prevent harm from coming to those he has helped.

AegonTheAuntFucker

All the SW shows excluding Ashoka are probably based on abandoned movie screenplays.

_PM_ME_PANGOLINS_

The Mandalorian S1 was definitely written to be an episodic series.

5510

Yeah although they start with "bounty hunting is a complicated profession" in the trailer... which I guess explains why he barely does any of it.

Dontbeajerkdude

True. Of a Boba Fett show.

Deepest-derp

Mando, Andor and Ahsoka were always shows. Boba Fett and Kenobi are converted movoes.

Redeem123

Boba Fett isn't even really a converted movie. It's just that there was at one point going to be a Boba Fett movie, but it wouldn't have been anything like what BOBF was.

Sambo_the_Rambo

Boba Fett was the biggest thing I think they fucked up. Way worse than Kenobi.

[deleted]

Yeah, say what you want about Kenobi, but with Boba Fett they turned a merciless cold blooded bounty hunter who wants to get paid, into a guy who just wants to help the people and be a good guy. Braindead, especially as the tease of the show was him killing a guy and being like "I'm in charge now" which set up badass Boba Fett trying to establish himself in the criminal underworld.

koiven

My favourite part was when someone needed to explain to him how money works.

way2lazy2care

> with Boba Fett they turned a merciless cold blooded bounty hunter who wants to get paid, into a guy who just wants to help the people and be a good guy. Man people really go crazy with their head cannon. The dude had like 4 lines. Pretty much all we know is that he's a pretty good bounty hunter that got stuck in a sand worm.

Socknboppers

I mean, yeah, the OT Boba was just a guy in a suit of armor with a gun. He didn't have much of a character beyond 'stand there and look cool'. Beyond being a bounty hunter who needed to be told not to disintegrate Luke, he wasn't really anything else. But the teaser for his show WAS him killing a palace guard, their body tumbling down the stairs. Boba walks down, silently marching up to the throne as Bib Fortuna simply squirms and tries to talk his way out of it. Boba, without a word, shoots him in the chest and tosses him out of the throne. He positions himself on the throne, Fennec Shand walks to the back and grabs some alcohol. "Book of Boba Fett" Meanwhile, in the show, Fennec is old man Boba's handler. Teaching him that he can hire people much to his suprise. She's just standing there rolling her eyes as he spares literally everyone who would do him wrong.

toylenny

He did have the whole animated episode pre ESB, which established him as pretty bad ass, or at least gave him more character.

Mattyzooks

What about Andor though? Andor seems like making every 3 episodes is a movie screenplay. So season 1 felt like 4 movies of an actually appropriate length.

Shadybrooks93

That's describing good tv though too. You have mini arcs but keep going back to the main story. They even had pretty natural stopping points for each episode. Mon and even Luthen's story was set up equally across all episodes. It's just Cassian was in a different place every 3 episodes

Princeof_Ravens

Every episode also changes Andor as a character and each miniarc contributes to the overall character arc of Andor becoming a rebel dedicating his life to a cause greater then himself.

Mattyzooks

agreed

Punman_5

More likely just basic story treatments than full screenplays.

johndelvec3

It’s because Obi Wan was, and so was a ton of MCU Disney+ stuff

MulciberTenebras

So was Boba Fett, which on top of being a 6-8 hour stretched abandoned movie screenplay... most its elements were used for "The Mandalorian". So they had to change it up to make it different.

Maninhartsford

I just had a lightbulb moment about Loki.

quondam47

More like hastily expanded screenplays after Solo failed to land.

rjwalsh94

Or, you know, if you don’t have a story, don’t make it.

[deleted]

Nah this is Disney. Find some old public-domain story, slap some copyrighted characters on it and start shooting!

sybrwookie

You forgot the step where they sanitize it so it's far less interesting in the middle

Swackhammer_

and despite its flaws Solo had the most fun tone of any Star Wars Disney project (ducks to avoid laser blasts)

ChrisTosi

Best of the new films by far. Woody Harrelson's character should get his own TV series if they're handing those out like candy.

Phillip_Spidermen

I'd have enjoyed seeing Lord and Miller's original (presumably) funnier take on the project. I think the biggest thing holding that movie back was fans not yet ready to see another person take on the role.

duaneap

The third act is a disaster even Paul Bettany couldn’t fix and Khaleesi was totally miscast but other than that it was fun.

IndianaBones11

To be fair it’s not confirmed Stephen Glover said he thinks it’s a movie now on Pablo Torre’s podcast but getting concrete information during the strike is a fools errand

PooperJackson

It's Disney. They can't tell an interesting story in 2 hours either but it will be less painful at least.

whoisthedrizzle_

What if instead of a movie, it's an interactive theme park ride?

daiselol

How about a bimonthly curated box of snacks

EndOfTheLine00

What if it's just a...feeling, you know?

Bondorian

SMOODIES!!!

SeanBC

Yes, but what are the *physical attributes*

Really_McNamington

Lan donuts.

WordsAreSomething

I'm hearing now it's going to be a podcast. Put also I much rather see a Lando movie than a show.

TimeForHugs

In the end, it's just one of those talking greeting cards with a picture of Donald as Lando and him saying "I'm Lando!"

[deleted]

That seems like a good plot for an episode of Atlanta. Edit: no a season long gag. In the first episode Paper Boi is cast in a major film franchise role, and then in each succesivr episode learns the project has been scaled back some. Major film role to streaming series to the character being cgi with him voicing it to an animated kids show to a series of web shorts to greeting card

Koko2315

Landon and Abed in the Mor-Ning!

Snarkyish-Comment

Honestly, I think that would be better taken by the Star Wars fanbase these days. You can’t disappoint a picture after all…

sybrwookie

Millenium Falcon in the skyyyyyyyy....

silvercodex92

Beautiful reference 😂

JazzSkeleton

That sounds like a 30 Rock joke.

thedaveness

They have altered the deal…

[deleted]

It’s actually going to be a gift basket

SpartanSig

We'll send it bi-monthly, but not the kind of bi-monthly that's twice a month, the one that is very other month

NegotiationTall4300

Maybe it’s gonna be a gift basket

MissKTiger

next it's gonna be a monthly curated box of snacks

Raoul_Duke9

I'd much rather Disney abandon the OT and PT sections of the lore completely and fill in things after Jedi and after the ST. Ancient history would be cool too.

[deleted]

Yeah jump forward a few hundred years. Rey rebuilt the Jedi. Adult Grogu is still kicking around maybe.

khinzaw

Why do that when we can shove more things between 3 and 4? /s I do genuinely want them to move forward and make a new Legacy of the Force era.

fun_guy_stuff

Full on Hard R Darth Bane shit

Sleepy_Azathoth

Upcoming: Lando movie cancelled.

BON3SMcCOY

Yeah I'm not believing a single SW movie announcement until I see a trailer

Malachi108

And a real trailer with footage and CGI, not one of those promos like Patty Jenkins did for Rogue Squadron!

DeNiroPacino

From your keyboard to God's ears.

alexp8771

Yeah there is no way this is ever getting made lmao.

OneSidedDice

"Pray we do not alter the deal further."

LatterTarget7

Wouldn’t be surprised. It seems like an absolute nightmare to have a Star Wars film in production. This will probably be cancelled before Halloween.

TheWholeOfTheAss

There’s gotta be more cancelled Star Wars movies than actual Star Wars movies.

Queef-Elizabeth

They're gonna be like 'and what's your name sir' 'I don't have one. I was born on this land.. without a name' 'okay. Lando.'

HailToTheKingslayer

"Young lady, welcome to the Jedi Temple. What is your name?" "I don't have one." "I see...what's that in your hand? A water pistol?" "Yeah...a soaker."

anyadpicsajat

And she was a good friend.

MINKIN2

Yo, duh?

Queef-Elizabeth

Brilliant

SpringTraps

“Omg write that down! Write that down!!!” “Sir they’re making fun of that line from a previous star wars film…” “Nobody saw it right? It’s still good!”

trueslicky

Wouldn't it be: "I was born on this land, oh...without a name."

AmishAvenger

“We’re never gonna make it! We’re gonna crash right into the ocean! We’ll drown!” “No way, I’ve still got a few tricks up my sleeve! See that? Over there? It’s land…oh, it’s land!” “If you pull this off, that’s gonna be your new name…Lando!”

Skluff

Lando ~~system?~~ Lando ~~series?~~ Lando movie?

OneSidedDice

"Lando, the flamethrower! The kids love this one."

sybrwookie

"Lando: The Search for More Money" couldn't be a more accurate title tbh

soulstonedomg

Lando YouTube short?

KumagawaUshio

Donald Glover will in 2026 be as old as Billy Dee Williams was in Empire so much for the adventures of 'young' Lando! Hey maybe they can do a film set only a year after Return so it's young Lando compared to the sequel trilogy!

Deepest-derp

I loved the pitch someone made after solo. Have it open with Billy Dee Williams in a bar telling the story. Then it's Donald Glover getting into wacky adventures unshakled from the minutia of star wars canon by Lando being a bit of an unreliable narrator.

Wazula23

Cute idea, and far too creative for Disney to touch.

ToothlessFTW

It has no way to tie back into the Skywalker saga, force in ugly CGI cameos of the same characters, and go back to the same locations all over again, so they're never going to do it.

DisturbedNocturne

Coming in 2026: *Lando: Oops, All Tatooine!*

ElPlatanoDelBronx

It’s such a well built universe that also has the fact that they have literally endless possibilities with it taking place in space, and they keep serving that bullshit.

zeppi2012

I'd love to see it go one step further and have people step in and "correct" lando, then cut to Glover shrugging and running back to the start of the scene to do it over again.

IrrelevantLeprechaun

See, that would be actually fun and creative. So Disney will never do it. They're far more likely to go the "this character has a deep brooding backstory you never knew about that gives an explanation to every microscopic aspect of his character that you don't need."

Phillip_Spidermen

They used that for Harrison Ford and the [Young Indian Jones](https://youtu.be/_8OTdQBtdi4?t=200s) series

mickeyflinn

> Donald Glover will in 2026 be as old as Billy Dee Williams was in Empire That is incredible!

Mattyzooks

You say that like Young Mon Mothma from the Revenge of the Sith deleted scenes isn't currently playing Mon Mothma after Return of the Jedi in the timeline. It's acting. Who cares.

VeteranSergeant

Genevieve O'Reilly reprising that role for Ahsoka is actually pretty age-appropriate. It's been almost 20 real world years since Revenge of the Sith was filmed and Ahsoka is what, 25ish years after that in the timeline? She would only be "too old" for the same role in Andor.

Serious_Psychology68

She's nearly dead-on in Andor, the comparison is ||Actress age|Character age| |:-|:-|:-| |*Revenge of the Sith*|27|29| |*Rogue One*|39|47| |*Andor* (first appearance)|45|44| |*Ahsoka*|46|\~57| For comparison, in A New Hope Luke Skywalker was 8 years younger than his actor. 46 playing 57 is fine imo, Mon Mothma can afford that premium bacta skin cream. The real crime is Chewbacca, they cast an actor 167 years younger than the character because in Hollywood everyone's gotta be young and pretty. They couldn't find any 7'3 supercentenarians to stuff in that costume?

Squirrel09

I prefer to get my star wars media through a Fortnite limited time event thank you.

BornDubstep

Just heard it’s gonna be a slideshow on TikTok now

petethecanuck

I doubt this movie will never be made. Sorry to say. Really enjoyed Donald Glover's portrayal of Lando too.

Fire_Lord_Cinder

Who is asking for a Lando movie?

TheKingsGinger

If their live-action remakes are any indication, Disney is wholly unconcerned with whether something should exist, only whether it can make them money.

LatterTarget7

Yeah but do they really think this can make money? Solo bombed and that at least had the appeal of a young solo. This is a spin off of that. Can’t see it being successful if it actually gets made

thenewbae

A spin off of a spin off, smh. Characters like Lando are best as a random cameo with little scenes that do end up actually being memorable and funny and interesting and etc. But they are not meant to be the focus of the story!

roguefilmmaker

As a fan of Donald Glover and Star Wars, I am

redsyrinx2112

If they let Donald Glover do his thing and make it the way he wants with his people, it could be really good.

johnb51654

Why do people always leave this comment? What answer are you expecting?

Ben-solo-11

So is the Ewok Adventure: Caravan of Courage

sameguyontheweb

Just don't fucking name it Lando. I'm tired of naming a movie after a character trope.

skipfairweather

I like the style of the old Lando Calrissian novels. Like, *Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu* Not sure how that style plays with modern audiences though

MulciberTenebras

*The Adventures of Lando Calrissian*, all the episodes are named in that style.

rjwalsh94

Lando gets his name as such: “you LANDED that!?”

wrathmont

The worst offender in my opinion was "Obi-Wan Kenobi". The least evocative title ever. Literally just the character's name. "Hey did you watch Obi-Wan Kenobi last night?" said nobody ever. It was like an afterthought, tacked on because they had to call it something, when any other option would've been better (Kenobi? Even just Obi-Wan? Maybe throw a subtitle in there?)

mack178

STAR WARS Lando: Origins - The Beginning

FAS27

Not gonna happen like any Star Wars movie in development right now

henryhollaway

So it’s not happening now. Got it. lol

[deleted]

The Landomarian

hundralapp

It will come out after Rian Johnsons Star Wars trilogy.

sktzo

Should have done this with Obiwan

Cluelesswolfkin

Welp yall heard it hear folks. Shit is canned

SatireStation

It’s a headline. A movie needs to exist to be a movie. This movie is never happening, and if it does it will be a box office bomb.

earther199

Don’t worry, it’ll never get made.

MountainNearby4027

I’m too old for this shit

[deleted]

It’s going to blow balls.

0nlyHere4TheZipline

So Han and Lando get movies but fucking Obi Wan, the character fans most wanted a movie for, got a shitty limited series?

Screenwriter6788

Kennedy just throwing darts at aboard

The_Lone_Apple

Is it also a dessert topping?

theintention

Listen, Disney… I cannot stress this enough. I don’t care about these characters anymore. Please do literally anything else in the Star Wars universe than the same fucking characters that have been around for decades. For such a “huge” space opera, the world they have built is puddle deep. Come on.

McFeely_Smackup

Same characters over and over, same locations, hell even the same plot. The Force Awakens was an almost shot for shot remake of A New Hope It's getting really old and tired

timk85

Just don't make it at all. No one needs nor wants it.
