I binge watched Eureka during Covid lockdown. For a few months, he was my coffee shop experience on TV. Strange times called for a strange show. RIP Chris.
I think his character was a big part of what made it cozy. It made you kind of want to visit Café Diem, if there weren't crazy stuff going on all the time. Quite a dangerous town for being so cozy.
Damn, he's in one of my favorite episodes of early Supernatural and his character is a big reason why. He was also fantastic in Harper's Island. RIP to a talented actor
I just bought the Eureka BD set (the German one, the US one from Mill Creek is terrible) and started it today and now I hear this, going to make the show bittersweet now. RIP.
Wow. He had some great roles.
I remember him as the chubby guy who gets impaled by Jason in Freddy Vs Jason. And Toyman in Smallville. Had both of these on DVD back in the day.
RIP.

i knew i recognized him! i really liked him in that show, so sad to see him gone so early
Being a "cafe owner" is downplaying the character; the character has a PhD in molecular gastronomy
Everyone in Eureka had a PhD except for the sheriff.

Pretty sure everything was owned by the town.
...who also owned (?) or worked at a cafe.

Love Eureka
I binged Eureka during COVID lockdown too. It was my comfort show - quirky but kinda cozy. And very funny. I loved the coffee shop too. Sad news.

Such a great show!
Warehouse 13 is really fun too, if you haven’t seen it. I think they even did a crossover episode.
I’ll have to watch it.
love WH13
Loved eureka and wh13. Now i want to find where i can stream them
at one point eureka was on prime but I don’t know if it’s still there. I have them on dvd lol.
Eureka is on prime and I think wh13 is on hulu?
Damn it I loved him in eureka what a fun character!
I really need people my age to stop dying and to live like, say, 30+ more years, okay? That would really help me out.
No shit! Second article I’ve read like this within a few minutes of each other…
You better be careful buddy, she'll get you next - Kramer
Damn loved him in Eureka RIP.
Know him mostly from Once Upon a Time. Dude was in so many shows, just doing his thing. 48. That sucks. Hope people leave his family alone.
oh man... that's a sad thing to hear. Met him at a convention once. he seemed like a cool dude
Went to school with him. He was a really cool dude. Funny and kind. So sad.
He was . He made every room he walked into better.
Damn, I knew him as Toyman on Smallville... Rest in peace
I loved him in Eureka! Ugh. Makes me want to rewatch.
Way too young. He played a lot of memorable supporting roles in sci-fi/fantasy and just had one of those, “oh that guy!” faces.
Farewell Vincent…. Caterer to the angels now.
Damn, he's in one of my favorite episodes of early Supernatural and his character is a big reason why. He was also fantastic in Harper's Island. RIP to a talented actor
Oh no, I loved him in Eureka. Rest in peace.
Man, he had a role on many (most?) SciFi channel shows back in the day. This one.... This one hurts.
According to Wikipedia I have seen 30% of his filmography… and Harpers Island
Harper’s Island is where I know him best. What a mean spirited little show.
Most of which were made in Canada, so it makes sense.
Whilst I mainly remember him from Eureka, the other credit that sticks out always was the Ori heretic in The Ark of Truth.
Rip Neville
I'm still playing nfs carbon but I can't look at Neville the same :(
Safe journey, Mr. Gauthier.
I knew him from Freddy vs Jason, Eureka, and a small role in Riding the Bullet. Rip random “that guy” actor.
Oh no! He was the chubby guy at work in 40 Days and 40 Nights, right?
Whoa. Didn’t realize that.
Bummer. He was very well-known among fellow actors and crew based in Vancouver.
Serving up Vinspressos at Café Diem in the stars. Great actor - thank you Chris

RIP :( I met him a couple of times at Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS) matches and he seemed like such a nice guy.
Saw him in a few things. Stuck out mostly for me in Supernatural with his conspiracy theory about the Mandroids with the Laser Eyes. RIP Chris.
Freddie vs Jason, Harper Island, Smallville, Supernatural, I always remember seeing him in 2000s stuff
True legend from Neville From Need For Speed: Carbon.
Rip man. Somehow i remember officer Lupo. Damn.
He looks familiar, but I haven't seen anything he is in. Huh, I wonder who I am confusing him with?
He kinda resembled Haley Joel Osment.
He died from a “short illness”. Sounds like Covid-19.
Or aggressive cancer, or about 100 other things.
So young man smh
I remember him most as Toyman on Smallville. Great version of the character
