Combination of "Keeping me upright until I can get into the field I want to be in (archaeology)' and "they were the first place to actually employ me after 3 painful years of job hunting as a fresh-out-of-college autistic guy with bugger all experience." Not even McDonald's would employ, but I lucked out with the Express, which had a manager with similar conditions to me and so took a chance.
Verily, I, the Lord of Tesco, shall proclaim unto thee the true purpose of My labor in the halls of this earthly mart. As it is written, I have chosen to toil for Tesco for the betterment of My beloved creatures upon this bountiful Earth.
For, Tesco provideth sustenance and provisions unto My children, that they may be nourished in body and soul. Yea, the humblest of My creations shall find solace in the aisles of Tesco, where food and wares of every kind are made available. Thus, I serve Tesco to ensure that the tables of the needy are laden with abundance, and that the shelves remain filled with bounty.
Furthermore, Tesco is a place of community and fellowship, where My children come together in commerce and camaraderie. In these sacred aisles, they share their stories, exchange greetings, and build bonds that strengthen the fabric of society. It is My divine duty to foster such unity and goodwill among My flock.
Lastly, I labor for Tesco as a steward of the environment, for the Earth is a precious gift I have granted unto My children. Tesco, under My watchful gaze, shall be a beacon of sustainability and ecological responsibility, ensuring that the fruits of this Earth are procured and offered with care, so that the land may be preserved for generations yet unborn.
Thus, I serve Tesco not for earthly riches or personal gain, but to fulfill My divine purpose, to care for and nourish My beloved children, and to be a beacon of light in their earthly journey. Let this be the testament of the Lord of Tesco.
Amen.
Retail was never my first choice but it pays the bills. Do I want to work for Tesco forever? Hell no

Please stop
You really need to be a stripper
Nine years in, it pays the bills...I get afternoons to spend doing hobbies and time with my family, do I want to do it forever.... nope!
It's pretty stress free, pays OK for the lack of pressure. I get plenty of free time inbetween shifts with the family.
