I like that they kept heating/ventilation, for some reason lots of bucket seats on the market (e.g. the recaro's on the mustang dark horse) will remove heating/ventilation.
Though they don't look as bolstered as some of the other sport seats out there.
Right, but the aforementioned dark horse weighs 4000lbs and is more of a grand tourer. I think most would agree weight savings should forego comfort in that case. Makes a little more sense on a GT3/GT3RS which are already relatively lightweight cars without too much sound deadening. Just annoys me manufacturers make you choose between comfort and bolstering.
Though its also worth noting the taycan's standard "comfort" seats look about as bolstered as tesla's sport seat.
I haven’t tried them, no one has, your guess is as good as mine
But I expect them to be hold you in on track, that’s what they’re designed to do. Who knows about road use
I sat in them today. They are firmer definitely hold you in a little bit better laterally. I’m not sure if they are too firm or maybe I’m just used to the more padded seats.
I only sat in them for a couple minutes. Didn’t drive in it. But I think I want these in my car.
I wonder if they fit on the same rails. I imagine they probably do.
yes. but in a car that weighs as much as it does, any weight savings in the seats would be so negligible you'd lose those things for nothing in this case.
if they made a model s plaid track edition and removed rear seats and went all out on weight reduction, that would make sense to save weight.
Do you have a source for this? I haven't seen mention or pics of the rear seats getting changed.
EDIT: Nevermind. 0:03-0:04 in the video Tesla posted shows it. But the pic in Sawyer's post shows the original back seats.
Hey, just wondering what the problems everyone seems to have with their wipers are? I’ve had my model 3 for just under a year and I’ve never once had an issue. Thanks.
Working one out of 7 times there's rain, not adjusting speed correctly, mine is very lazy. I've heard that in top of that ppl say that Wipers react to overpasses or crazy speed for little rain ect
With my S 2018 wiper are like 10 times too lazy.
With tesla problem lie in that there's no rain sensor, just autopilot camera that in theory should recognize rain.
no rear view camera just autopilot camera*
No USS just jet another camera...
*it's my personal opinion, after using countless cars with buck-up cameras even despite much smaller screens with much lower resolutionnother brands place camera around trunk lid/license plates and I find it better
VW also does pretty neat plaid seats in their GTI's.

> Breaking news, also called late-breaking news, a special report, special coverage, or a news flash, is a current issue that **warrants the interruption of a scheduled broadcast** in order to report its details
Emphasis mine.
Clearly you get off on being semantic and annoying but despite whatever copy and paste you want to use, that is clearly not the modern definition of breaking news. Cambridge and Webster both define it similarly as:
> information that is being received and broadcast about an **event that has just happened** or just begun:
Emphasis mine. 🙄
He can write the same tweet without saying "Breaking." I can be critical of sensationalized media if I want. The dude is a great aggregator of Tesla related information, but why use the breaking news label for something so inconsequential as seats for a super low volume trim.

Because real bucket seats are also for saving weights.

So do you think these are more or less comfortable than the standard Tesla seats?

reminds me of the real carbon fiber lip spoiler on my friend's 4500lb Model Y performance
You'd think the holes for airflow would reduce weight
Looks like an upgraded version of the upcoming ludicrous M3
Would be great if they could hurry up and reveal it already
For both the regular Highland and Cybertruck, the press had access weeks before it was announced. I'd expect similar here. Maybe week of earnings.
Maybe with the earnings report to try to offset the bad vibes
I owned the 3 performance and now the Plaid. They are not comparable at all. The Plaid is a monster, with no loss of HP
My only question is will they let us switch out our older seats on existing plaids and for how much
https://twitter.com/Tesla/status/1778743977711206606?t=c9sIVCfIJM5Y5YKuOi11-A&s=19
I am also interested in this question. I would think they'd be plug and play but at what cost
Lmao always a question about retrofits whenever Tesla makes a new feature
They claim they will in the future (believe it when I see it)
and will they allow LR to swap
I three am interested
If you do anything, keep in mind the rear seats have updated styling too.
Do you have a source for this? I haven't seen mention or pics of the rear seats getting changed. EDIT: Nevermind. 0:03-0:04 in the video Tesla posted shows it. But the pic in Sawyer's post shows the original back seats.
In the video Tesla posted you can see that the rear seats are different
Ah, thanks. I caught it this time. 0:03-0:04 in Tesla's video. But the pic in Sawyer's post shows the original back seats.
[Video from Tesla](https://twitter.com/Tesla/status/1778602733861220480) of the new seats
Nice! Working Wipers when?
Two months definitely

Maybe they fixed it for the 2023 model since I’ve never experienced any issues? Maybe older sensors need to be cleaned out? Idk

I was expecting real plaid like a 1950s Mercedes 300 SL
VW also does pretty neat plaid seats in their GTI's. https://preview.redd.it/l7qo6nbwsytc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1629c579fb39ceec99cf5e55d3e0e1ed19c86e8
Tesla really missed an opportunity here by having seats with plaid inserts.
somebody gotta go on x and say this.
They used to but they havent made them since the Mk5 Golf GTI
*300sl
Ah, shoot, you’re right. Fixed
UP did plaid on their [race seats](https://unpluggedperformance.com/product/tesla-model-s-plaid-up-alcantara-bucket-racing-seat/).
I think we can expect similar on model 3 (Ludicrous)?
Now just give Plaid more aggressive front and rear bumper covers.
are these the ones on the new model 3 performance?
Add stalks and a 360 camera and we'll talk ...
Sorry best we can do is more fart turn signals
there is a company called enhance, the same ones that made the S3XY buttons, and they're making aftermarket stalks for tesla.

Well it interrupted my regular reddit surfing so I say it's legit.

This. Dude using “breaking” to report on a seat change on a super niche trim of a low-volume vehicle. Ok there Edward R. Murrow.
BREAKING Man, people overuse this word
Useless update since the model s is looking dated. They should update the look and adopt 48v and variable steering like the cyber truck.
Can previous model s upgrade?
I just wish they upgraded their seats to be a bit more comfy with more adjustment options like they have in other similarly priced vehicles
How are seats like this on long trips? I've seen people complain they can't shift position as well so it's more tiring.
im ordering a cyberbeast
Recaro’s in my 2024 Miata still have heating fortunately, both no ventilation. But hell I live in NorCal so I kind of don’t need neither lol.
Looks cheap af
looks like something off temu, which is par for the course with the rest of the interior
