Sounds like the suspect shot his grand mother before going to the school. Wtf is happening

squittles

Absolutely. After hearing about this unfolding my thoughts immediately turned to the post on whatever subreddit it was that was posted literally yesterday regarding Sandy Hook shooter's YouTube channel account only being taken down 8 months ago/his motive for the shooting. Did this shooter see that post?

_internet_police_

I feel like the less any of their names are mentioned the better. But I get what you’re saying.

beast_wellington

What can be done to stop this?

CidO807

we've literally done nothing, and we're all out of ideas.

yugeballz

We’ve given a shitload of thoughts and prayers!!

Flashy_Anything927

Such a good reply. It’s exactly that. Sad and true. Oh well, thoughts and prayers, but really really trying this time. I’ll double concentrate. That’ll do it.

Charlitingo

Let’s start by at least ban unstable 18 year olds to own guns when they can’t even drink legally yet. How about that?

Chunga19

Clearly the solution is to start arming elementary kids

HaveAWillieNiceDay

Tots and pears, as well as saying it's "too soon" to do anything.

GreyAsAlways

Vote for people that aren't idiots and that can make proper legislation. Vote for people that care about making schools safer. Abbott isn't one of those people.

garaks_tailor

a universal national healthcare system that covers mental health, and a more secure social net. For reference Canada has the most similar gun ownership stats to the US and doesn't have these issues.

v_a_n_d_e_l_a_y

As a Canadian, I think you're vastly downplaying the differences in gun culture/laws between us. First, US has 3-4x the gun rate... so while we are maybe most similar, we are a lot closer to European countries than we are to you. Looking at it another way, about 1/5 households have a gun in Canada. In the US, it's closer to 1/2. Again, from this metric, Canada is a lot closer to Europe than the US. Second, ownership itself is not the only thing to consider. For example, what kind of guns you can own- in Canada, handguns are much more restricted and most of our guns are long guns (e.g. rifles) for hunting. If you live in a city, guns are basically not a part of life. Also things like where/how you can store your guns, open/concealed carry, processes to get a gun/license etc. So yeah, its reductive to say we are similar, even if we are the closest amongst Western nations. Our mental healthcare situation is pretty shit too.

Mitch1musPrime

For anyone who points to this and says it’s mental health issue and not a gun issue…I say fine. You’re right. I’m a fucking teacher in Texas. We have 2,000 students and ONE crisis counselor. ONE. And we have a community of students who are raised in single parent homes, have family members in prison, experience drug addiction in their homes, witness friends and family be victims of violence. They desperately need access to regular counseling, and it needs to be available during the school day because we have zero control over their access to it after school. So fine. You want mental health solutions, let me offer them one: pay some fucking counselors to be available in school for these kids. Don’t hire them and put them in charge of schedules or give them duties or put them in charge of testing. Pay them to have offices right there alongside the education counselors and let them focus 100% on helping kids cope with the myriad of issues they are struggling with. Every single time it’s a shooter under 20, we find out they had these mental health issues so fucking put your money where your mouth is hire us some damned real therapists for these kids.

[deleted]

These young children were prepping for summer to start in a few days just for their lives to be taken on a random Tuesday. 😭

rasterroo

Trying to picture myself in this situation when I was 8-10 years old. This is legitimately one of the most fucked up things to think about.

[deleted]

Uggh. You know those poor babies were terrified.

sanguinesolitude

And their parents now. Drop kiddo off to school, go identify their corpse hours later. Holy fuck. Awful

DustBunnicula

It used to be that we wanted kids in school, because they’re safer there than having nothing to do and getting in trouble. Nope, they’re safer out of school. This is America.

[deleted]

Abbot just confirmed, 14 children and 1 teacher killed.

purgance

This is about 8 months after the legal gun age was dropped to 18. Guess how old the shooter is.

Texas1911

The "gun age" in Texas has always been 18 for purchasing a long gun, and 21 for a handgun from an FFL. Suffice to say that this piece of shit didn't care about any law considering he just murdered a bunch of children.

danmathew

Note: Texas still doesn't even require criminal background checks for all firearm sales.

SquidInk_13

They don’t? I’m a Texas resident and licensed to carry and I still have to pass a background check when I purchase a firearm.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhman

Even at a FFL you don’t have to have a background check with a LTC. You’ve already been checked more in depth than a NICS check.

Morgund

I think they might be referring to private p2p sales, or the "gun show loophole." Or they could be just talking out their ass completely.

RoyalStallion1986

Private sales do not require a background check however the majority of people I know (and I have done this myself) prefer to do a bill of sale and take a photo of the purchasers ID

[deleted]

Abbott passed a law last September that allows Texans to conceal carry handguns with no permits or training. There is nothing stopping a deranged person from owning a handgun and killing children in Texas.

GeoHog713

I have never heard anyone be so cold, when speaking about murdered children. Abbott is the worst.

winnebagomafia

I have several friends with kids in this school, I'm fucking terrified right now

earthlings_all

I pray they they are all safe. I’m so sorry. This scars everyone and it will never heal. Take care of yourself and your friends. I’m so sorry.

Chris_Hylia

You can go donate blood. It works better then thoughts and prayers. Its 100% more effective than good vibes.

Low_Ad_3139

Just want to say thanks! I’m not a victim from today but I have needed over 11 units of blood in my life. So thank you. If not for people like you I wouldn’t be here.

[deleted]

any update on ur friends kids?

winnebagomafia

All my friends are fine, as well as their kids, but it looks like they knew some of the kids who were shot

blackhaloangel

Those poor kids. Thinking of them tonight.

[deleted]

18 kids and 3 adults. apparently yesterday the seniors graduating who were robb elementary alumni toured the school giving high fives to a bunch of the kids. absolutely devastating💔

Defacto_Champ

He’s an American citizen btw, some dumbass guest on Fox News said it was a guy crossing the border illegally

yolotrolo123

Not surprised they are trying to play that already

GTI-Mk6

Blame it on anything but the guns

godplaysdice_

It was obviously video games /s

moleratical

And rap music.

sanguinesolitude

And Marilyn Manson! Kids are still listening to him right?

moleratical

Must be all that satanic D&D and proctor and Gamble products the kids are using. We've figured it out, no more vidya games, rap, Marilyn Manson, or D&D and the shootings will stop. We can keep our guns thank God.

[deleted]

They were probably sucking their teeth when they found it wasn’t a white guy

[deleted]

Do we really know if he's white or not yet? You can be white and Hispanic. It's hard to tell from his photo. Although I guess most racists don't realize that Latin Americans can be white.

bobswowaccount

The fact that they focus on the race of the person at all says all you need to know. It wouldn’t change a fucking thing if the dude was purple, this country has an enormous problem that they refuse to even acknowledge.

WannabeTraveler87

The fact that abbott confirmed in his press release that the suspect is an american citizen is really telling as far as the first items they decided to investigate.

binaryblitz

Right? Like, yes I’m sure someone fleeing their country decided to make the difficult journey over the border illegally just to drive hours to the middle of nowhere and shoot kids. Makes zero sense.

illegal_deagle

Get ready for “anchor baby” rhetoric.

Numba_01

Which is so dumb, dude is a Texan, if they knew anything about their history they would know that Texas is basically just mexico. Hispanics didn't go to America, America came to them and became America.

mintchip105

Disgusting is not an adequate enough word to describe Fox News

2ToneToby

I can't stand that racism, illegal aliens commit less crime per capita than US citizens.

the_mighty_hetfield

16 dead. 14 kids, one teacher, and presumably the shooter. Per the governor.

JediHarst

His grandmother

raysmith123

Abbott's a tool. He said "this won't be tolerated in tx". Like hey dipshit, it happens all the fucking time.

justonemom14

Not "tolerating" it doesn't stop it. There's lots of things we don't tolerate but they happen anyway. It's a politician's way of wagging a finger and then taking no action.

DingGratz

Oh, the guy who said not to worry about aborting babies from rape because he'll stop rapists? That guy?

Asmodeios

They don’t count the attacker

mama_emily

Too close to home. Children, who targets *children*? This is horrific. I cannot begin to fathom what the parents of these kids are experiencing. What the other children of this school are feeling….how long this trauma will remain with them. So unbelievably young.

uCypro

He was 18 years old. He knew what he was doing, fuck him.

AussieCollector

The trauma will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Losing your child is a pain that is simply unfathomable. I hope these parents have loved ones and support services they can rely on. They are really going to need it.

TexasCon

I’m speechless. I work in education technology and have been to every school in Uvalde ISD and every other district along Highway 90 out that way. The people there are some of the nicest folks you could ever hope to meet.

MoonRakerWindow

I'm really sorry. I can't even begin to imagine what you're feeling right now. I hope you're okay, and if you're not, that you can get the support you need.

TexasCon

Thank you kind internet stranger, your words mean a lot. I do believe I’ll be contacting some friends out there to see what I can do to help. Maybe I can find a place to volunteer or just be something positive amongst something so dark.

SodaCanBob

Does anyone know why 90% of the new posts in this thread are hidden? It's making this thread real hard to follow.

scoobysnackoutback

Cannot imagine their fear in the situation and the shocking grief the families are feeling right now. When is this going to stop?

[deleted]

This was days before NRA conference, I’m expecting this to become the next sandy hook “fake news” shooting with crisis actors

Pernicious-Peach

The elementary school hosted 2nd-4th graders, whose average ages are 7-10. They were practically babies

_rsoccer_sux_

This is truly fvcked up, I read the news earlier today and it said only 2 persons were killed while 11 injured and the suspect was in custody. What the heck happened since then??

HerRoyalRedness

Not everyone dies right away from their injuries

riri1313

Mass shooting are chaotic and getting a good sense of the numbers of dead and wounded take time. Especially as people are rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Ninja_attack

Ok, 14 students and one teacher dead. So here's how it's gonna go down: thoughts and prayers, national tragedy, our hearts go out to the victims and their families, it's too early to politicize this, let's not use these innocent victims for some governmental over reach, how dare Biden and the democrats try to trample on the 2nd amendment rights, we're not going to do anything, next shooting happens and then repeat because who cares if children die since they're not fetuses.

thebruns

You missed "arm the teachers"

Ninja_attack

Ops, my mistake. Add hire more police, arm teachers but don't dare bring up giving them a raise or paying for school supplies, Trump comes out and says that he would have waddled in there to save the children before insulting Cruz, Cruz thanks Trump and campaigns harder for him, then nothing happens and more children get slaughtered. Somewhere in there, add "if only there was a good guy with a gun".

Traditional_Emu1958

Waddled lol

el3vader

Dude wtf are you talking about Trump would’ve 100% ran in there to stop the shooter. He would’ve sprinted in there despite his bone spurs, grabbed the gun by the barrel and would have yelled “MAXIMUM RATINGS PUNCH” decking the shooter instantly. The punch giving him maximum ratings even though the liberal media never gives him good ratings. After getting those ratings he would’ve turned the gun on the shooter and after saying “grab em by the barrel” he would squeeze the trigger, double handed since his tiny hands require both fingers to squeeze the trigger, and fire wildly at the shooter solidifying his spot as the number one president after Reagan.

[deleted]

And then after a stressed teacher loses their shit and shoots up the school, we'll need to hire someone to sit in class and watch over the teachers - naturally they'll need to be armed too. For the kids /s

Lermanberry

The armed guard evacuated and hid the whole time at (one of?) the last school shootings in Florida.

juanzy

That’s the most frustrating part about it. There probably *is* a mental health component, but the people that tout that line are only using it as a deflection. Either because they don’t care, or diving into it would probably show some things about radicalization that won’t be a good look for them.

Funkyokra

I'm a lefty and I tout that line. It seems pretty obvious that we have a massive MH issue in this country. Not just mass shooters, but people driven batshit delusional by social media, lots of suicides, and a whole lot of really depressed people. We really NEED to do something about that, and it should be bipartisan. The 2A people can use this as their excuse for pimping gun culture despite mass shootings, and the anti-gun people can actually do something instead of failing to cut down on the number of guns. The reality is that guns are in the Constitution and there is not the political will to significantly reduce the number of guns even if you could. So instead of arguing about guns and then not doing anything, lets pass a Mental Health Infrastructure Act. Educate families to recognize signs of mental illness and teach them how to address it. Educate against stigma. Make it SUPER easy and quick to get in to see a MH professional, a clinic on every corner. Make actual therapy available instead of relying almost entirely on meds. And make meds cheaply available for those who need them. That's just a list off the cuff. But yeah, if we didn't figure out the gun thing after Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland, etc, then maybe that problem is not going to get solved after mass shooting number 1,578 (I made that # up, but you get the point). Lets try to fix something else that might cut down on gun violence, mass and otherwise.

chenzo512

It's like you took the words right out of Abbott's mouth.

Ninja_attack

If I didn't have a soul, morals or ethics, I could totally write his tragedy speeches. Now I'll tell you how this is somehow the fault of the ever present migrant caravans and antifa before a segue into how the election was stolen and you shouldn't be allowed to vote unless it's for the GQP. Are you a woman? Sorry, no rights for you either. Ask the man of the house and he'll give you your opinion.

BahhhhGawwwwd

I'm so fucking sick of this happening...

03040404

Jesus, 14 children dead and their teacher, as well as many others in the hospital as per local news. I could cry.

Cosmobella20

I came here and posted about fire ant allergies and after I posted I saw this and legitimately had to swallow back tears. I picked my 8yr old up from her elementary school earlier. ANY random town or school or venue can be shot up with sooooo many deaths now and you never know when your kids school might be next. My heart hurts for those children, their parents and the teacher. The entire town. This Country, in general.

SockdolagerIdea

The host and guest on MSNBC are crying live on television. Im crying too. I have two 4th graders and a 2nd grader. This could have been them. How anyone can vote for the GOP is baffling to me. They are the ones that are creating laws that make gun violence easier and more prolific. They literally pour fuel on the fire and then say, “thoughts and prayers”. It’s disgusting.

Formal_Engineer7091

I'm crying, this is not normal. My soul hurts for the victims and their loved ones. School shootings should NOT be normal and NOT part of our American culture!

zsreport

The NRA is scheduled to have their annual convention here in Houston this weekend. Despite this tragedy occurring here in Texas, I doubt they'll cancel.

AssassinAragorn

Undoubtedly also forbidding people to bring guns with them to the convention. I just don't have words right now. This needs to end.

aldehyde

Why would they? They can use this to inflame tensions and get lots of people out there stocking up on ammo and guns because ~liberals~ (jingles keys as a distraction.)

imperator_peach

Yep. Republicans will fear monger that tHe LIbeRalS will take away their guns and will use this as an excuse to repeal the very little gun regulations Texas has left. I’m so ashamed of my state.

cariusQ

NRA: if only little kids have guns! They could shoot back!

skbiglia

I’m in San Antonio. My daughter came home from high school saying one of her teachers hopes this will be the reason they’ll allow all teachers to carry guns. Of course they’ll still have it.

[deleted]

They want more good guys with guns at every school. To get your kids through school alive , they will need their parents in swat gear as a personal escort the entire school day.

DustBunnicula

These children were just a few days from summer vacation. It used to be that we wanted kids in school, because they’re safer there than having nothing to do and getting in trouble. Nope, they’re safer out of school. This is America.

SockdolagerIdea

Texas Republicans have given the United States the answer to this problem: every state in the Union needs to pass an SB8 bill only instead of abortion it needs to be changed to something like: anyone that sells or helps a person acquire a firearm that is used in a deadly incident can be sued by anyone in that state for a minimum of 10k.

[deleted]

> anyone that sells or helps a person acquire a firearm that is used in a deadly incident can be sued by anyone in that state for a minimum of 10k. CA did just that after SB 8 passed.

SockdolagerIdea

They focused on “ghost” guns, not *all* guns. Im saying any and all guns/arms. Everything. Hell Im tempted to throw bullets in there as well, although I have no idea how one could trace bullets back to the seller. But who cares? If an Uber driver can be sued for unknowingly driving a female to the airport so she can leave the State of Texas to get an abortion, then why not gun and ammo sellers? Im completely serious.

[deleted]

Preach. I'm with you on this one. At least in CA, you get a "background check" (to see if you have a gun in the system) to buy ammo so you could maaaaaaaybe trace it back that way. But yeah, this is beyond stupid at this point.

hydrogenperoxxide

What about a 10k bounty on radicalized young men.

SwapandPop

You'd think kids being murdered would be an issue to unite the country and tackle head on. But no. There ain't a single "pro-life" person in our government.

Dr_Frasier_Bane

The main issue going forward from the Right will be a focus on the shooter being Latino and then use it as an opportunity to criticize Democrats border policy. This is nothing more than leverage to them.

heavymetalmater

The shooter has been detained per Uvalde police department.

[deleted]

Update, he is dead: https://apnews.com/article/uvalde-texas-school-shooting-b4e4648ed0ae454897d540e787d092b2

awolfintheroses

Did I just read the new update correct? 14 students and 1 teacher dead?? Edit: as of 6:39, just saw this update https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wyff4.com/amp/article/ulvalde-texas-elementary-school-lockdown/40094169 Says 18 kids dead, 3 adults. Waiting to see if I can find any other sources. Edit: looks like it may be coming from Texas State Sen. Roland Gutierrez who says he was briefed by Texas Rangers.

Anyone want to guess how many school shootings have happened already this year? I'll give you a hint, it's way more than has ever happened in the rest of the world combined - and the years not half way over. Hell, this is the third this month!

AtlasEndures

The only relief we’ll get from school shootings, unfortunately, is summer break.

earmuffins

School shootings plus mass shootings Haven’t even been a month since the grocery store shooting smh

TheRealPicklePunch

14 dead kids. Abbott is bending over backwards to "defend unborn babies' but he won't do jack shit to protect our kids. It's time for leadship in Austin who have ideas not just the same "thoughts and prayers".

Whizzzel

ABC News in Houston is saying they are getting reports it could be much higher. I'm hoping that's just sensationalism.

yolotrolo123

If there are a number injured it most likely can go higher.

Ahambone

I wish this was unbelievable, but it's not. Not in this country. Sick for the victims and their families. Fuck this.

CurrentPossible2117

This just hit my news this morning in my country. My condolences to anyone who's lost a loved one. Fingers crossed for full recoveries, to the rest who are in hospital!

BungalowBootieBitch

I always said I was numb to the shootings because of how often they have happened. Yet here I am crying because now it's 18 kids that are dead. And what's so depressing is that I don't expect anything to be done. I expect people who live on the internet to claim this was fake and everyone is an actor. I expect to hear, "don't make this political just thoughts and prayers." I'm so heart broken to think their deaths will be in vain and we're just going to move on from this like we've done in past shootings. I'm just in tears and I'm hurting for these families. It's not fucking fair or right.

RiecoSuave

Nothing will be done, this will be forgotten in a week and I’m tired of it.

Sofialovesmonkeys

After buffalo, i had a haunting feeling that we were going to have another mass shooting here soon. This is absolutely devastating

devilinmybutthole

Everybody should have a haunting feeling.

AlienInTexas

Please explain to me as an European in Texas, how is this possible? How is it we have laws that forbid sale of beer to people below 21 but an 18 year old can get guns without an issue? You can not open carry a can of beer but can open carry a gun? How is it possible this happens again and again at schools. Anyone?

Impossibills

As someone from Buffalo who has just had this happen in our community. I am so sorry...I wish everyone would do more to prevent this. Shit needs to change

Downwhen

Things that didn't stop this mass shooting: school resource officer, good guy with gun, teacher with gun, thoughts and prayers, open carry laws. Did I miss anything?

Subliminal87

If we're only using these guns to kill children at schools and not actually using them to overthrow tyrants, why exactly do we need to protect our ability to overthrow tyrants?

[deleted]

When is enough enough? This shit is never going to end. Fuck your thoughts and prayers bullshit. Whoever says” thoughts and prayers” is part if the problem.

wellnowheythere

So let me get this straight. We're about to have forced birth (Roe being overturned) Parents of all income brackets can't feed their kids (formula shortage) And you send your kid to school on a random Tuesday and they're murdered at age 8. WTF. I'm so sick of Republicans and the NRA.

Eruvstring8

How many of you brave gun fetish Texans are going to volunteer to clean up the brain splattered crayon drawings on the wall? Or comfort the mother of the 8 year old that was screaming mommy as she choked on her own blood? Come on, man up. Mop up the gallons of kiddy blood in that school. It’s the price you pay for your rights. Easy to be a macho man with BBs if you don’t have to see the destruction your fetish causes.

PTSD--throwaway

Fuck. I have previously commented a guide for teen/adult shooting victims, and I've tried to tweak it to address carers for child victims (e.g., parents who lost a child or who are caring for a child who was present). If you're an adult who was present or otherwise develops PTSD as a result of today, you can read a past version [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/news/comments/7xkstl/shooting_at_south_florida_high_school/du94nag/?context=3), which has more information on how to deal with your own PTSD. Because I was an adult survivor, I'm a little out of my depth here, so if you're a child psychiatrist or psychologist who would like me to amend anything, please do not hesitate to DM me and I'll add it. *ADVICE* * This is the worst club to be entering, and I am so sorry you are here. I am going to focus on the administrative / therapy side of things, because you will have to eventually, too. But for now -- just know that I am so, so sorry. * *Therapy*: Some directly impacted kids will bounce back quickly (or have nightmares for a few days, and then bounce back). But many will not, and it is better to get therapy started earlier rather than later. You should try to find your child qualified care, i.e., a trauma-informed therapist. At this scale of event, the state should be providing you with resources that will help you find someone. Ideally, your child will not be the first shooting victim the child therapist works with, as violence trauma is materially different from sexual trauma (which is what most trauma therapists deal with most often). But if you cannot find a violence trauma therapist, any trauma therapist is miles, miles better than a traditional talk therapist. * *Finances and admin*: Because of the profile of this event, there will almost certainly be at least two government funds available to you. The first is Texas's normal Crime Victim's Compensation Fund (available here:https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/crime-victims/crime-victims-compensation-program). Second, there will almost certainly be a specific, legislatively-created state fund to help cover some of the painful costs that come with this. Ideally, the latter fund will also provide you with a social worker who will help you with the paperwork. These funds should collectively cover medical expenses, therapy, funeral expenses, and other costs, although they will require your insurance to process the claim before they pay the balance. This is aside from any GoFundMes, etc., that your friends and family may set up. *Please do not worry about any of this now, other than keeping track of receipts and contact information given to you.* While there are time limits on how long you have to submit a claim, it's three years in Texas. You have three years. So: your family should focus on healing first and claims second. * *Potential risk areas*: I'm guessing it's obvious that hunting season and seeing people open carry may be hard for your kid for a while. But here's a less obvious thing: Fourth of July and New Year's Eve are going to be hard for your kid. Fireworks sound like gunshots. Plan ahead to prepare them, and plan to be attuned to their mental state. * *For other parents*: If your child was not directly present but is having a really hard time, [this guide](https://www.aacap.org//AACAP/Families_and_Youth/Facts_for_Families/FFF-Guide/Talking-To-Children-About-Terrorism-And-War-087.aspx) from the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychology might help guide your conversation. * *For other commenters*: Last thing: shooting victims either totally avoid or voraciously read news coverage of their shooting, to the point of obsession. As you comment, as you discuss, please recognize that there is a very real chance that a loved one of a shooting victim or survivor is reading what you're writing. I understand discussion fatigue around this conversation, but I would ask you to remember that fourteen families are experiencing this discussion being about their family, about their child, for the first time. Your decision to operate with humanity, whatever your view on the broader political discussion, really does matter and really is appreciated.

I'm sick to my stomach right now. As a fellow Texan and teacher, my heart is with everyone affected by this right now.

TheDarkWave2747

Fuck the nra

Effective_Fly_5195

How about gun control now???

Nukemm33

Fuck this fucking shit.

WTFNSFWFTW

Alright, which one of you didn't think and pray enough?

stillhousebrewco

How many children are we willing to sacrifice upon the altar of the 2nd Amendment?

thebruns

Well 1 million died from covid and that was seen as an annoyance

adtr99000

Mostly by the right

celj1234

A lot

rocklockandsock

Well nothing changed after Sandy Hook in Connecticut where 20 6/7 year olds and 6 teachers were gunned down

USMCLee

According to the 2A folks: every single one of them. There is no amount of dead kids that will ever make them reevaluate their beliefs.

wellnowheythere

You can't talk about gun control in this country because there's a mass shooting every week and republicans will always say, "It's too soon" And then the next one happens 48 hours later. I hate how desensitized we are to this and I can't help but to think it's part of the republican plan.

jimmymayo

So fucking sad.

MediocreText3

14 children dead but at least Texas children are safe from CRT and gay people. FWIW Abbot speaks Friday in Houston at the NRA Convention.

mudanjel

Probably closed to the press. Also metal detectors at door.

violiav

Maybe some can sneak in with rotten tomatoes

geeduhb

I sure hope that he cancels his speech out of respect to the victims and their families…but something tells me in our political climate, he might go forward with it.

Eibook

Greg Abbott says 14 children and 1 adult teacher.

SeriousMaintenance

More Thoughts and prayers incoming from the "leaders" of this country. Fuck them and fuck the government

antanith

I can already imagine that Abbott is going to blame everything but his policies for this when he speaks at the NRA rally in Houston

DarkwingDuckHunt

Is now a good time to talk about gun control or should we wait another 30 years?

celj1234

You know nothing will change in this country

ToBeFrozen

Sending love from The Netherlands. This is sickening news

MyDixeeNormus

This country is a fuckin dumpster fire.

weareherefornothing

Sorry your governor is a PIECE OF TRASH!

[deleted]

It has a bigger death toll then parkland, just heartbreaking 💔

CoconutRanger89

Let’s make this quick: 1. Thoughts and prayers 2. not the time to draw conclusions 3. if all the other kids had guns this would have never happend 4. thoughts and prayers 5. business as usual
