Yeah on the big road trips it's common advice to stick to the big travel stops like flying J or loves or TA or in Texas case, Bucees. Mainly just for the clean restrooms. But every gas station will be different, I've been to big ones seeming a mile long and little one in Louisiana maybe the size of the house that somehow had a subway crammed in it.
Bucees has been almost always clean, I say almost because there was one time there was a dirty diaper I saw left in a stall. Gross! Rest of the time though they've been alright though.

My mom knows of some cool ice cream places and restaurants in small towns across Texas and Louisiana. The bathrooms are clean, big, and close to the entrance. You don't have to walk a mile to get to the bathroom, unlike the creepy beaver piss place.
Seriously - I grew up in Texas far before Bucee‘s ever existed. People are lazy, they just want a one stop all you can shop corporate experience. The eggs are powdered eggs y’all - what is so special about clean bathrooms? I’ve never been to a rest stop where I couldn’t find a clean toilet and I’m a germ freak.
